Dolfan in NYC Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 My reaction from Sunday's result: This is the first time Miami beats Pittsburgh twice in a row since 1987. I am pleased with this. 2
Hail Sabin Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The Packers traded with the Chiefs to get Knile Davis if Lacy who didn't practice Monday isn't able to go the Packers Running back against the Bears will be a shit show. Davis being backed up by Cobb and TY 2 WRs.
JLSigman Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Panthers have the week off. Way things are going, they'll lose anyway. :-p 2
Vincey Greene Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I feel like as Panthers fans a bye week is a win for us. We can do other things that have a chance of bringing us more joy than the team on Sunday. Like cleaning. Or oral surgery. 1
Sublime Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 There's always the chance of Newton or kuechly suffering a practice injury to really help your bye week be a loss. What are some other examples of teams going from Super Bowl to possible first round pick territory the next season? I picked the PAnthers to win the SB (partly due to me hatred of the football saint (and sexual assaulter) Peyton Manning) I thought they looked really good last year and were poised to be annual contenders for the foreseeable future and instead its this. It is one of the fastest falls I can think of especially for team that looked so talented, it didn't seem like their SB run was sort of lucky, like the Grossman-led Bears where you figured it was their one chance before a return to normalcy.
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 The last time a Super Bowl Participant started this poorly the next year was... the 04 Panthers! (they started 1-7). That team did manage to make it to 7-9 though I think the closest a team has come to the #1 pick was the 03 Raiders who went 4-12 (they picked 2nd in the draft in the famous Eli/Rivers draft) The Falcons went 5-11 in the season after their Super Bowl
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Schefter is saying the Jets are going to name Geno Smith starting QB sometime today

I threw up my hands and said "season over." I was right. 1
Sublime Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 I see through some research that the Panthers had the lowest strength of schedule last year and they played 4 teams that finished with winning records and 2 that were 8-8. So some regression from last year probably should have been expected but probably not this badly. I knew the Raiders went down pretty bad after 03 forgot how bad. The panthers have some games that look winnable on the schedule but they might have a legit chance of for #1 except for the fact that the Browns have a good chance to match the Lions imperfect season.

The Panthers should not be losing divisional games in a mostly terrible division, which has been the bulk of their season up to this point. It's also very telling that they struggled to put away an awful 49ers team during week 2.

Their front 7 is still rather good but not what it was and not enough to mask how atrocious their secondary is. Their offensive line is bad. Their offensive scheme and playcalling is bad. What about this team is especially good right now?

They are, but if that was the only thing holding them back, 3 of their early games were divisional games, and they're in a terrible division. From that perspective, a 1-5 start is inexcusable.
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Mark Davis has told owners that he will file paperwork in January to move the Raiders to Las Vegas

So I was full of blind rage and swearing at Bill and Phil after the pick. Granted...the Raiders did worse with first rounders since that time so...meh.
Lawful Metal Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Should I be concerned that Brandon Marshall of the Broncos has said that the Broncos want to kill Brock Osweiler? I mean, he said. He wants to literally murder Brock. On the football field. He wants him dead. Considering what they got away with against Cam Newton, it's not that outside the pale. 2
Kuetsar Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Assuming he actually wants to do such a thing-and I am in no way condoning it-, its pretty dumb to say so before hand. Now the refs should be extra vigilant for that sort of thing, and toss someone who goes over the line. You would hope anyway, who the hell knows anymore. . . .

If he played for 28 or so other teams, he'd be in hot water. If he was a Patriot they'd launch an investigation and try to get the government involved. However, The Broncos Do Things The Right Way so he'll be fine. 2
J.T. Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Steelers are 4-2 and still at the top of the shitty AFC North, so I don't hate football today as much as I did on Monday. We have the 5-1 Pats so I am sure I will hate football again by Sunday night.
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I like the part where you ignored that Big Ben is crippled for 4-6 weeks 1
Kevin Wilson Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 As a fan of a team that will likely be battling for the #6 seed in the AFC, I would like for the Steelers to lose every game without Big Ben. If this is possible. 1

Unlike the current Cowboys, I have no faith in our backup QB. Landry Jones is not going to get it done.
