Stephen Ross opened his stupid mouth about slurs yesterday.

Only thing I can come up with for this is "It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase."

Man, I know we've heard some stories - like Bourbon kicking a kicker - but it must have been REALLY bad for Jacksonville to fire him for cause, refuse any settlement, and then actually win their dispute.  In the words of Fran Tarkenton, "That's incredible!"

With that said, I'm still surprised a college program has not hired him yet.

He might've been holding out to see if he'd get money from the Jags.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in college in 2027.

Honestly I think at this point - Urban is happy making TV money and not having to deal with NIL

Spoiler

Shhh... don't tell anybody, but I'd trade Ryan Day for Urban Meyer right now.

I really don't think Urban would work as well in current college football. That dictatorial hardass approach doesn't fly nearly as much when guys can hit the portal and are making millions. He's obviously an all-time great, but I just don't see it today

This is exactly what a Michigan fan would say.  You see Ryan Day and see a T-bone steak with a fully loaded baked potato.

Eh, maybe.

I just think we're in an era now where you need guys who the players love more than they fear to keep a roster. (Also people with deep deep pockets backing you.)

I'm being facetious, but I 100% believe the success of Ohio State football has very little to do with the head coach.  My issue with Ryan Day is that all of his losses are to teams that are less talented than his.  I know that's like saying that all of Wemby's losses are to players shorter than him.    Urban Meyer, for all of his myriad faults, usually takes care of business against less talented teams...namely the team up north.

I'm gonna have to push back a little on that. Especially the back half of Urb's run in Columbus, when in back to back years he got boat raced by a mediocre Iowa and bad a Purdue squad. The second one, in particular, was worse than any lose Day has had. The Big Ten title game and regular season loses to Michigan State in 2013 and 2015 are both also probably worse any lose except the Michigan 2024 meltdown.

What Myer didn't do was lose to Michigan* and that's worth a lot, but outside that one loss in 2024, every team has beaten Day has finished in the top 20. All but one other has finished in the top 10. And most of them were playoff teams that finished in the top 5, including 2020 Alabama, 2022 Georgia, 2023 Michigan, and 2025 Indiana that were all undefeated national champions. You can say Day had more raw talent for sure in the latter two, especially the Hoosiers, but that's four of his losses that were to the best team in the country that year (a lot of advanced numbers like that Tide team as arguably the greatest of all time.)

Anyway.

*Well except in the bowl game after 2007. And you know, if not for one terrible and one debatable call in 2016 then th... Is pulled off stage by a hook

This is and always will be my point.

Ryan Day, to his credit, has consistently had the best rosters in the sport for his entire tenure.  I understand that winning a National Championship every year is unrealistic, but I do not think it is too much to ask to beat your hated rival when you have a massive talent advantage.

I would like to think that Josh Jacobs is finished based on how brutal domestic violence allegations are but unfortunately I doubt it

Let's wait for him to be charged first before expelling him from the league.

Well, now that Jaxson Dart opened himself up to it, investigators found his TikTok account and some... really unfortunate reposts.

Among which is one where the previous president had been replaced and another where the AIDS epidemic wasn't real.

Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper arrested

https://blacksportsonline.com/2026/06/broncos-jonathan-cooper-and-girlfriend-jade-fiegen-both-arrested-after-cheating-fight

Quote

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper and his girlfriend Jade Fiegen were both arrested Thursday night following a physical altercation at Cooper’s Denver-area residence that began with an argument over allegations of infidelity, according to police records and an arrest affidavit.

Fiegen told officers she confronted Cooper about cheating. During the dispute, she threw his phone against the wall and took it to read messages. She alleged that as she tried to leave, Cooper grabbed her by the neck with one hand, lifted her off her feet and pinned her against the wall for about one minute while he retrieved the phone. She said he then threw her to the ground three times, punched the wall next to her face, grabbed her and pulled her toward the floor. Fiegen told police she was “unable to get up” at one point. She also said Cooper threatened to break her phone if she did not leave and then put the device in his mouth and ate it, causing damage. She noted the phone contained irreplaceable messages and voice notes from her late mother, which Cooper was aware of. Fiegen said she did not lose consciousness and did not see spots during the incident.

Cooper gave officers a different account. He said he held Fiegen by her arms to get his phone back and later braced his neck against hers to stop her from taking it again. He admitted to officers that he damaged her phone by putting it in his mouth and eating it.

Bruh.

Did he eat it or "just" bite it?  This all sounds so awful but I am morbidly curious here. WTF.
