Based on his background, I can imagine that he may not know any Jewish people personally, but he's dangerously close to learning about antisemitism the hard way.

And now that hey actually said it, the refs *will* be watching for it and *will* toss their flag if they see him do it.  I forget what the penalty is (I think it's just 15 yards) but this would fall pretty easily into the anti-racist language rules they put in around a decade ago.
