Smackdown Spoilers:

 * SmackDown opens with Dean Ambrose cutting a promo in the ring, about how he’s even with Chris Jericho now due to Mitch and the light-up jacket being destroyed. Jericho’s music hits and the lights go out. They come back on with Jericho already in the ring and Ambrose laid out. Jericho pulls out a strait-jacket and begins beating on Ambrose but doesn’t put him in it. Ambrose tries unsuccessfully to fight back. Jericho stands tall as referees separate them.. Jericho stands on the announcer’s table and offers the crowd “the gift of Jericho”

* Rusev is backstage ranting about what happened on RAW

* Rusev defeated Sin Cara in a short match, with The Accolade. WWE United States Champion Kalisto was on commentary. Lana came out first and introduced Rusev as the next US Champion. Rusev controlled the early part of the match and just as Cara made a comeback, Lana threw water on Kalisto to distract Cara. Rusev went outside, kicked Kalisto in the back of the head and went back in to finish Cara. Rusev left both Lucha Dragons laying

* Renee Young interviews Emma backstage. She formally introduces Dana Brooke, who will face Becky Lynch tonight

* Dana Brooke defeated Becky Lynch. This was said to be not very impressive. Dana came out with Emma, using Emma’s music. She controlled the early part of the match until Becky made a comeback but Dana won with a fluky roll-up off a distraction. The match seemed awfully short and most of the crowd was confused by the sudden ending

* RAW replay of the six-man match

* Backstage segment with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. AJ Styles approaches and promises to take care of Roman Reigns if he interferes in their match against The Usos tonight

* WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day are out to easily the biggest pop of the night so far. The Vaudevillains end up interrupting and we’ve got a singles match

* Aiden English defeated Kofi Kingston. Kofi started hot but English quickly took control. Decent back and forth action until Simon Gotch got involved. Gotch tried to get involved a second time but Big E and Xavier Woods stopped him. The chaos led to the referee ejecting Gotch, Woods and Big E from the arena. This led to Kofi being distracted and English getting the win with an assist from the ropes

* Backstage segment with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and The Usos. Like AJ did with Gallows and Anderson, Reigns promises to take AJ out if he gets involved tonight

* The Usos defeated Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson by DQ. The Usos started off strong until Gallows grabbed a handful of hair from the apron to turn it around. Anderson and Gallows kept control for a while, even surviving a hot tag. This led to dueling chants for The Usos. The heels controlled a bit more until an Uso superkick led to another hot tag. The crowd was really getting into the match as The Usos ran hot until Gallows hit one with a steel chair for the disqualification. Anderson and Gallows stand tall after a beatdown with chairs, leaving The Usos laying. This was the best match of the night so far, basically tag wrestling 101 but the crowd was hot by the end

* Backstage segments with R-Truth building a selfie stick out of an actual stick with Tyler Breeze, and Fandango trying to teach Goldust to dance

* They air a Life Lessons segment with Bob Backlund and Darren Young. Backlund asks Young what time it is on his watch and Young pulls out his phone to check. This causes Backlund to berate him for trying to make a phone call. Backlund assigns him 200 squats for disobedience

* R-Truth and Tyler Breeze defeated Fandango and Goldust. Truth started with Fandango but Fandango tagged out, leaving Goldust vs. Truth but they don’t fight and fans chant “Golden Truth” at them. They still won’t fight. Truth ends up tagging out to Breeze but Breeze lays him out. Goldust catches wind but Fandango ends up laying him out, allowing Breeze to get the pin. Officially Gorgeous Truth wins but Fandango and Breeze both beat Goldust down. Truth comes in for the save but also gets beatdown. Fandango and Breeze leave together as Goldust and Truth are left laying

* Another vignette for The Shining Stars (The Colons)

Renee Young interviews Ric Flair and WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte. Charlotte says what happened on RAW was a travesty. Flair promises Charlotte will retain at Extreme Rules

* Cesaro and Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz with Maryse ended in a No Contest. Miz started with Cesaro. Cesaro teased the Swing but Miz escaped and tagged Owens. He came in and Zayn tagged himself in. Owens tried to tag out but Miz drops off the apron and Sami beat Owens down a bit. Cesaro and Zayn hit consecutive big moves on Miz after he tags in but the h eels gain control behind the referee’s back. The heels control for a bit before Sami pulls out a desparation Blue Thunder Bomb but he can’t get the pin. Cesaro gets a hot tag and takes out Owens and Miz. A Swing attempt on Owens is interrupted by Miz. Sami misses a Helluva Kick on Miz and hits Cesaro by accident. The match devolves into a finisher party as Owens hits the pop-up powerbomb on Sami and Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Owens to stand tall and end the match in a No Contest. Owens recovers and tosses Miz back in the ring for the faces to make up. Cesaro hit a 32 second Swing on Miz and then slingshots him into the corner for a Helluva Kick from Sami. SmackDown ends with everyone cheering for Sami and Cesaro

Sounds like a good full show, wonder what happened in the Dana Brook match.

For the record - the person who submitted spoilers to the WON said for the main event

Kevin Owens & The Miz w/ Maryse b Cesaro & Sami Zayn when Owens pinned Cesaro after a frog splash.

So I have no idea how one can give the description of above and then another guy says "wins with frog splash"

At this rate, I expect the "distraction finish" to headline the WWE Hall of Fame inductions some day.

It has to wait for "roll up finish" to get in first

I figured Dana would be just a manager since she has barely wrestled in 2016 except maybe some NXT house show because of her injury.

It wasn't that long ago when HHH said they were only going to call people up that they had a real plan for. I guess they needed an ace for Main Event and thought Crews was the guy lol. They need a brand split to let these newer guys get over on Smackdown.

Well again... the problem is that HHH has a plan but guys will get up and then Vince gets involved and things go to hell.

Which is what happened with Tyler Breeze since Hunter had started his push and then Vince was suddenly all "Fuck That"

Which I've read is exactly what happened with Vince and Crews where Vince said "He doesn't connect" (And isn't entirely wrong).  Same site said Vince liked Enzo/Cass' reactions, but didn't understand what their gimmick was.

Then they need to get on the same page before calling someone up. Is it asking too much for Vince to watch a few matches and promos of an act before calling them up to see if he has any interest in pushing them? I don't doubt that HHH has a plan for these guys, but if Vince is going to undercut anything thing he doesn't like HHH's plans aren't worth a whole lot.

Crews wasn't connecting with the crowd in NXT in front of an audience tailor made for him to get over with. IDK why they rushed him up to the MR thinking it was going to be any different.

Probably because they wanted to do this whole New Era, Shane deal and needed another new guy but not someone who would hurt NXT like a Finn Balor. Pickings are very slim if you're looking for a babyface singles guy from NXT.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be doing more with him but the options were very limited.

Because they just called up NXT's babyface ace Sami Zayn not long before Crews' call up along with the most over babyface tag team they had. There were far too many call ups at one time(to go with Doc and Gallows debut and Cesaro's return). There were bound to be people getting lost in the shuffle. Half of the people in NXT's tv show opening aren't even in NXT anymore.

It's on and I'm awake and I feel like writing, so screw it, here's SMACKDOWN REPORT 5/12/16

- There's gotta be some great screencaps of Ambrose in the jacket.

- The Rusev Crush was on point tonight; those elbow drops and rabbit punches were especially vicious. Rusev: "DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?" Gotta love the guy marking out with the bone-snapping motion in the crowd when he kicked Kalisto too.

- Dana Brooke comes out and I'm already cringing at what King will come up with when she's out; thankfully he restrains himself. This time, anyway. "Handful of follicles" is a new one from Mauro. Her and Becky have a stiff little match with a nasty eyepoke finish. Becky should come out with an eyepatch as Pirata Lynch and jump Dana and Emma.

- Damn, that lariat to Kofi from D-Von on Raw was Hansen-level. Then he comes out with UNICORN SHOULDERS! And one ends up drooping down his arm. Poor flaccid horn. Whoever said on here that Vaudevillians need to transfer to a hipster gimmick is right; they should come out wearing ironic hats and scarves while vaping. Kofi proves his willingness to eat shit again by flying right into the post. That was a match.

- King makes a racist joke right after the Usos come out just to fill in his irritation quotient for the evening. Speaking of them they were beyond stale as the prototypical WWE PG Faces so sticking them in this angle works. I've always liked Gallows and have pretty much avoided Anderson so it's good to see what they can do here too. Hopefully they don't go full NWO with all of this Bullet Club stuff like ROH is. Gallows throws a punch that makes Byron say "GEEZ!" and wrenches the hell out of An Uso after some vicious elbows on the mat, then Anderson makes me like him by grinding the boot with a spin into the face. Then after the DQ he hits an awesome jumping Yakuza kick (I guess it's the Rocket Kick) straight into An Uso's face and wears a chair out on one of them before sitting in it and throwing up the Too Sweet. Fantastic. Nice feud-furthering tag match and I'm sold on Anderson/Gallows.

- R-TRUTH HAS HIS SELFIE STICK IN A MASON JAR OF WATER!!! Then they almost trump that (pun unintended) by having elderly Bob Backlund completely not understand what a smartphone is and having Darren do Hindu squats. After the hilarity Golden Truth get beat down and we have Breezedango as a new team? Well that could've been called a year away. Goldie covering Truth to try and save him is great though.

- WWE writers must be watching Lucha Underground cause that Colons gimmick smacks of Famous B's way too much.

- Flair is sober? Must've been punishment.

- Sami really should skank to the ring, just once. Maybe on Wrestlemania with Mustard Plug playing live. Ah, the ska fans, I keed, I keed. "You better talk good about me Byron" - Owens. Goddamn Cesaro catching Miz in the air and pausing before the backbreaker is great. And then the dragon screw! Miz and Owens as heel feuding tag partners are just fantastic and a combo you'd never expect to work. Hilo + rolling senton is a great dual tag highspot and Sami is such a great FIP. And Cesaro is such a fucking beast just gearing up into second flying around effortlessly. Everyone ends up splattered aside from Miz and they should have these four fight forever. Such a fun, fun combo these guys are. That was a blast.

Yeah, there was nothing wrong with this match.  They laid into each other pretty good.  Not visible botches, crowd didn't really seem confused or anything.  Kind of seems like someone with an axe to grind over Brooke getting called up wrote it, in all honesty.
