Hot weather is back, which means running shorter distances as I have to reacclimate to the heat, fluid loss, increased exhaustion, etc.  Tried to shoot for 6 or 7 miles Wednesday, but my body was like "that's a no from me, dog" after 5.  It's slightly cooler today, BUT it's also been mentally exhausting week, so we'll see how it goes.  Lifting this week (maybe 70 minutes Sunday, Tuesday, yesterday) has been awesome.

@Petey Thanks for your personal experience on weight loss medication and hopefully there won't be any side effects or problems moving forward, either. Your experience may help others with similar situations find the correct option for them as well, since there seems to be quite a few of them (and the list is growing) these days. Best of luck to you in the future, as well!

@Petey hey man, good for you!  That's so awesome to hear.  I know quite a few people on GLP-1s and nobody should ever feel bad about getting help with health.  Getting weight off and being healthy is so important.  I've had a few doctor/hospital visits in the past few months (everything's fine) and it just sucks to see so many waiting rooms (I almost wrote "weighting rooms" in a masterful Freudian slip) filled with unhealthy people.  Getting healthy and staying that way is so important, especially as we get older.  Keep doing your best and I wish you well on this health journey, friend.

Thanks guys!

Obviously, I'm also hoping for no long-term side effects and the like, and I don't expect any, but before being able to go on a GLP-1 my fatty liver levels were too high, cholesterol was high, and I was suffering from sleep apnea, all of which regulated pretty quickly after getting on Zepbound, and all of which would have almost definitely left me with major health issues down the line.

I'm looking forward to being able to get back in the gym once the school year winds down and assuming next school year isn't as intense/time-consuming, hoping to continue the routine while teaching.

Rough week at work but did get all 5 workouts in. 3 out of 5 days I did sets of lat pull downs with the machine  (shovel handle grip to the front with 132 lbs) between the sets of whatever was the real focus of the day. Those included a regular bench pyramid, a seal row pyramid and Arnold press plus bicep curl stuff. The 2 out of 5 were squat machine pyramid and a regular deadlift day.

I was able to get my double overhand grip without Versas record up to 429,5 and new volume record set at 3 × 4x440,5 but nothing above that even budged (failed stuff from 473,5 down to 451,5 with and without Versas, it was weird).

Weight is going down, to the point where I need some extra calories during the weekend. At one point I saw 188,5, but I was probably dehydrated from work at the point still. Starting to look relatively ripped, especially considering the time of the year.

Schedule and weather messed with my standard "alternate days full body lifting with running" plan, so Sunday through Wednesday were hour long splits in the gym instead -- back, biceps, legs one day, chest, triceps, shoulders, core the next.  7 miles running outside yesterday.  I have some extra time today, so I'm going to do a half hour upper body in the gym and then some kind of run later.

Adventures in the office gym!

My office gym is on the first floor of my building, with doors leading directly to outside.  Guy who is dressed like he clearly works in this office complex (khakis, polo shirt), not in shape but not fat, is hanging outside wearing headphones and vaping.  Comes in, does two sets of dumbbell curls with awful form, puts the weights back in the rack in the wrong spot, then goes back outside and right back to vaping.  I guess you gotta just get your (questionable) pump when you can.

A 5 workout week and the pounds are shedding off. Unfortunately having some trouble with my right bicep and elbow, so some things had to be kept pretty light. Well, I overcompensated where I could.

The week had a lightish full upper body day, a decent squat machine pyramid,  a slightly lighter than usual bench pyramid, a relatively basic Seal Row pyramid and just for something different, a barbell shrug pyramid (with the peak being 3 sets of 10 with 484,5).

Weight went as low as 183, which is pretty crazy for the time of the year, but totally in line with the fact that I basically started the diet a month ago, for all intents and purposes.

@Technico Support isn't going to appreciate this, but I haven't really done any EXTRA cardio (aside from biking) yet during this cut. I have just done regular cardio and workouts and relatively harsh calorie restriction (also going more vegetarian and fiber-based) for a longer time than usual and the results are close to the same, just without the aches in my calves and ankles. I did walk a few kilometers today though, but that was without the weight vest.

LOL!  No problem, man.  Everybody should do whatever workouts they need to do for their goals.  Cardio helps keep my fat gene having ass thinner, and keeps my heart healthy, especially after a very slight scare I had this year (nothing big, just a weird beat issue I've had for years that turned out to be benign).

I just got home from running six and a half miles, btw.  😛  Two more workouts this week (weights tomorrow, cardio Friday) and it's beer and bad food day.  I mean Saturday.

Only three work days this week and only two real workouts, one upper body and then a squat machine pyramid. Funny that when you don't wear yourself out with jogging, you can still squat normally, even when the weight starts coming off. Weight went down to 180, at least for a while, but I did buy some sirloin stake and sweet potatoes for tomorrow, when my childhood friend comes for a visit.
