When you put it that way I can see that.  I guess it's something that didn't cross my mind.  He had a ton of momentum for some time and I could have seen him go for the title.  Hopefully he fares better during and after the Classic.

I'm a little curious how a lot of these indy guys are going to handle the different ring size. From what I've heard through the old WCW guys after the Takeover was thst the hardest part was getting their timing down with the WWF ring.

They put in the weigh ins online.  If you remember when they were introing everyone on the special, Bryan mentions the guy from Chile cutting 30 pounds in weight that would probably explain the reaction to him coming in at 205.  I also love that Tajiri looked he he wasn't sure if he was going to have to fight the scale.

Damn can't even avoid spoilers in here.  Oh well I have no idea how much of this is already spoiled  but TJP is in a brutal block.  I mean he has to go through most of EVOLVE to make it out of his region.  

Man Cedric Alexander vs Kota Ibushi and Zach Sabre Jr vs Drew Gulak 2nd round match sounds incredible.  Hell give me Tajiri vs Metalik any day

My completely unspoiled guess is that Sabre beats Gargano in the finals. ...and Tozawa and Gallahger steal the show if they face each other in the second round.

 

edit: my final 4 would be Tozawa/Zack and Gargano/Ibushi. With Zack beating Bollywood Boy Harv and then defeating his brother Gurv in a later round in a revenge match.

I'm going with Tozawa/ZSJ and Kendrick/Swann as the Final Four with ZSJ vs. Kendrick as the finals. You'll have the story of The Brian Kendrick needing this as his last shot at glory and surviving all the way to the finals only to lose by tap out.

Any word on which guys are getting full-time contracts vs just being one-offs?  I'd heard Taijiri was coming back on a more regular schedule and Ciampa and Gargano are clearly going to be full timers now.
