They missed the boat with Gotch being an old-school strong-man. Most wrestlers are way stronger than they look, so he could do power spots with his unassuming  physique (by pro wrestling standards) and chalk it up to his manly training regiment. He briefly had some spots where he'd do push-ups and Hindu squats mid-match, so if he kept those kind of comedy spots, but then every once in a while busted out a military press or huge beal, I think he would've gotten super over. Then you could sell his strikes like death too and his range snowballs from there.

 

What he does now in the ring is pretty smooth, though, so he's still got potential. Hopefully he's got some promo skills, because it'll probably require transitioning out of the gimmick to take the next step. If he keeps this gimmick, his best hope is Social Outcast #5, but if he can transition to something else, he has maybe slightly less potential than Chad Gable, which still leaves him a decent ceiling.

 

English seems kinda like a lost cause to me, though. He's not worthless, but it seems like he's as good as he's gonna get and his look is weird in a bad way. Definitely a victim of the NXT surge. He looked like he could be a player when they first started on the network, but now he's easily a bottom-half talent and they're still bringing in people that push him farther down the trough. Best case scenario he takes his singing gimmick to the Superstars/Main Event circuit.

Thinking about Graves commentary, there needs to be a situation where he can have a commentary moment for Eva Marie like Bobby Heenan had for Flair during the 92' Rumble.
