Ryan Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I love spoiled fans of the Packers calling for McCarthy to be fired. They apparently don't notice what the team was post-Lombardi and pre-Ron Wolf & Holmgren.
Josh Mann Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 BTW - Handy Guide for tracking all the teams coaching searches http://www.profootballrumors.com/2016-nfl-head-coaching-search-tracker/ I don't love that Miami is the frontrunner in the Adam Gase sweepstakes.
elizium Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I love spoiled fans of the Packers calling for McCarthy to be fired. They apparently don't notice what the team was post-Lombardi and pre-Ron Wolf & Holmgren. I'm indifferent to McCarthy, but do want a change in coordinators.
RIPPA Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 I am not thrilled about anyone the Giants are interviewing outside of Austin
Brian Fowler Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 BTW - Handy Guide for tracking all the teams coaching searches http://www.profootballrumors.com/2016-nfl-head-coaching-search-tracker/ I don't love that Miami is the frontrunner in the Adam Gase sweepstakes. Guy just got a career best season out of Cutler. Why wouldn't you want him working with Tannehill?
Death From Above Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Not quite Factory of Sadness level but a solid sequel. As for Gruden, anything that gets him out of the MNF booth works for me. Of course knowing the four letter, they'll install an even more insufferable asshat like Ray Lewis in his place. If it wasn't for the amazing Jon Gruden parody account on twitter he'd be valueless to me. I sum him up like this. You know how dogs act when you wave a ball around, and they get really excited you're going to throw the ball, and even if you don't throw the ball they basically stay excited as long as you keep waving the ball around? That's Jon Gruden. All the time, every day.
Josh Mann Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 BTW - Handy Guide for tracking all the teams coaching searches http://www.profootballrumors.com/2016-nfl-head-coaching-search-tracker/ I don't love that Miami is the frontrunner in the Adam Gase sweepstakes.Guy just got a career best season out of Cutler. Why wouldn't you want him working with Tannehill? Fine. Then let him be the OC. The last four coaches the Dolphins hired have one thing in common: None of them had previous HC experience in the NFL. How's that working out?
elizium Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 About as well as hiring Jimmy Johnson and Dave Wannstedt did?

RIPPA Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Per Schefter Detroit Lions are expected to hire Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn as their general manager, league sources told ESPN.
steve Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I'm gonna be sad when McDermott finally gets a HC gig. He deserves it, but still. 1
RIPPA Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 There are two reports that the Eagles have asked the Giants permission to speak to Tom Coughlin about their head coaching job (The Eagles have to ask for permission since Coughlin resigned. Fired coaches obviously don't)
RIPPA Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Oh and Hue Jackson is "the clear favorite" for the Niners gig
Josh Mann Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 About as well as hiring Jimmy Johnson and Dave Wannstedt did? At this point, the days where the Dolphins would build up my hopes only to get their asses handed to them in the divisional round sounds amazing. 1
Chaos Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Can someone explain to me how Adam Gase is a great hire for the Miami Dolphins after coordinating a 6-10 Bears team and basically having to say "yes sir" to Peyton Manning for two seasons?
Ryan Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 All the prostate massages given to Peyton and Cutler let their talent rub off on him. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Well good, I'm glad I don't have to worry about the Dolphins being competitive for the next few years. Thanks Stephen Ross! 1
Chaos Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Well good, I'm glad I don't have to worry about the Dolphins being competitive for the next few years. Thanks Stephen Ross! I loved all of the rhetoric about "we're going to open up the pocket books and bring in a big time hire this time." I really wish we'd get a change in ownership that can competently bring a guy in, or at least get someone who understands what personnel you need in this league at the GM position.
Kevin Wilson Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 My love of chaos hopes that Coughlin goes to the Eagles. Please let that happen.
RIPPA Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Along with Case being the Fins new HC - Vance Joseph (who is currently the Bengals DB coach) will be the team's new Defensive Coordinator
Ryan Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I think they should have convinced Bill Parcells to give it one more shot.
Niners Fan in CT Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I don't think I'd have a problem with it, he got a raw deal in Oakland and they were 8-8 in his one year. I didn't know what to think with Chip. Him with say Kaepernick would be intriguing but it could also be a total mess.
Gonzo Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 In an NFL first, Jay Cutler actually got an NFL coach hired. 3
ChesterCopperpot Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 The Giants are talking to both Mike Smith and Doug Marrone about the HC position. Schefter is reporting the Smith story - and well .... the Giants had an article about Marrone on their website
