Triple H interviewed by The Masked Man

Recommended Posts

My Dogshit laptop crashed as I was finishing a proper reply, to be quick I'll say he was pushed for sure but it wasn't some huge push, and Warrior crushing him wasn't some sort of big moment. His reactions justified his ascent up the ladder. No-one can honestly say Triple H was ever pushed harder than say Ahmed Johnson, or Rock. And to say he shoved down the crowds' throats every week is bullshit too.

 - HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY (w/ Chyna) vs. ROCKABILLY (w/ the Honky Tonk Man) Dammit, who is this guy sleeping with?! He's on every damn week! God, I'm sick of him. Helmsley wins. Of all the matches possible in the WWF, this is the one I wanted to see the least.

A personal plea to Vince McMahon: stop putting Hunter Hearst Helmsley onRAW! He's been on every week this year.

Some people are going to bitch until the Earth ends about this one.

I'm really surprised at the amount of Terry Taylor in that preview, did he go back to WWE after leaving TNA?

I don't think so. But the WWE DVDs have been more open about going outside the company as of late, like they did with the Punk doc.

What was insufferable about the trailer? Most of the people praising him were friends and family. Take a guy like Batista. He owes a lot to Triple H and I would not be surprised if Batista truly thought HHH is the best to ever do it.  Most of the WWE docs are like this. Two hours of people saying "this guy was/is the best ever"

I am far from a HHH fan, but I'd watch the shit out of that doc and may even convince myself to buy it. For better or worse, he is wrestling, so a detailed biography from start to finish would be fascinating to see. Of course it's going to be slanted, but so is everything else in wrestling.

I am hoping that with HHH in charge, they will be more of appreciation for the in-ring product while recognizing that there will still be a large entertainment influence. It will not be JCP from the 1980's, but a much more logical and entertaining product then the Attitude Era and the surrounding years trying to find that (even if the ring work was mostly better from say 2003-2007 then 1998-1999).

Speaking of Val pushes that never happened, I really liked the team of he and Bob Holly.  They were great as the team of hard-hitting no-nonsense guys and seemed to have good chemistry together.  I think they could have gone further than they did.

I never really bought the "Cerebral Assassin" or "King of Kings" phases. He's always been varying degrees of the snooty blueblood snob version to me. Which judging from his "no drugs, no alcohol, just wrestling" outlook seems close enough to the real dude; a conceited bore. It's like if William Atherton suddenly got jacked up on steroids in the early 90's and started going toe to toe with Van Damme or some such shit.

As for "stories they want to tell" since HHH never had the required panache to do the whole gloating preening posturing prick thing half as well as his hero that seems like a pretty piss poor story to tell and re-tell in the early 2000's where he's constantly gloating about his latest devious machinations and plans coming to fruition. I also find it pretty telling that he mentions "how does this work into the story we want to tell though?" when talking about how much garbage Austin would immediately shoot down when HHH or whatever other clown was peddling dead end self serving angles.
