NOTICIAS

You can't go back home to your family, back home to your childhood, … back home to a young man's dreams of glory and of fame … back home to places in the country, back home to the old forms and systems of things which once seemed everlasting but which are changing all the time -- back home to the escapes of Time and Memory.

.....Thomas Wolfe "You Can't Go Home Again" (1940)

Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde or as you may know him as the original Mistico, the original Sin Cara, Myzteziz, and now a true mystery, made his return to his "home" Arena Mexico last night for the first time since January 18, 2011 where he teamed up with La Mascara & La Sombra losing to Los Guerreros del Atlantida (Atlantis/Rey Bucanero/Ultimo Guerrero) as it was 12 days later when Super Luchas Magazine reported in a huge story that Mistico had signed a contract with the WWE. From the beginning of his push in 2004 all the way up until his last match, Mistico was the heart and soul of EMLL and arguably the biggest box office draw in all of professional wrestling at one point. Mistico didn't exactly leave on the best of terms but unlike others who did what he did, he was able to make amends with the powers that be and had what was described as an "open door" to return when the right opportunity came. The promotion was definitely upset at him for lying to them in the first place as he had asked them for some vacation time where he was going to Los Angeles which ended up with him meeting with WWE officials and finalizing his contract. Most people thought that the "right opportunity" would happen in January 2014 when he announced that he would be coming back to wrestle in Mexico but instead he signed with AAA where he would debut on February 21st standing on the stage scaring off La Sociedad from attacking the tecnicos. Myzteziz as he was now known though wouldn't be able to compete in the ring until June 7th at the annual Verano de Escandalo show where he teamed up with Cibernetico & La Parka Jr. to defeat Perro Aguayo Jr./Averno/Chessman. Myzteziz has had an up and down tenure in AAA which defnitely changed when Rey Mysterio Jr. made his debut at this year's Rey de Reyes on March 18th where coincidentally Myzteziz teamed up with Rey to defeat Perro Aguayo Jr. & Pentagon Jr. in Perrito's last match for AAA before his untimely tragic death on March 21st.

Myzteziz was kind of lost in the shuffle at times since then as Rey basically took his "spot" in the AAA hierarchy but they pulled the trigger on a big rudo turn at Triplemania XXIII on August 9th where Myzteziz destroyed Rey Jr. and proclaimed himself a rudo then challenged Rey to a Mascara contra Mascara match. Myzteziz since then has been working on the rudo side on the AAA TV tapings as an associate of La Sociedad but at the Heroes Inmortales show on October 4th in San Luis Potosi, Myzteziz had issues with his Sociedad stablemates during his match with them and before the show was over, he was completely destroyed by them with no one coming out to help him in what could end up being the best way to have him exit the promotion although he told the press last night at Arena Mexico that he plans on working all of his contracted dates with AAA before leaving which if you know the AAA/EMLL feud, it is extremely doubtful that happens.

Now onto last night, LUCHA LIBRE ELITE which is an independent promotion with deep ties to EMLL as well as Luchas 2000 Magazine made a big announcement on Thursday that they would be debuting a huge surprise at Arena Mexico last night and the rumor mill went wild over the next 24 hours but about 3 hours before showtime, it got out that the original Mistico was backstage at Arena Mexico and would make his return in a huge shock although AAA was notified of this happening so while it caught them offguard in a big way it wasn't like they found out when he actually showed up in the ring.

The original Mistico came out in a darkly lit Arena Mexico to a modified version of his theme and he was wearing the same faceless mask that he used for his debut in AAA last February. He took his mask off revealing a modified version of his original Mistico mask with an outfit which was mostly blue but lined with pink, gold, & silver and he told the crowd that it was great to be back in "his house." The fans immediately could tell that this was their returning hero and there was a huge ovation as he continued to talk to them. He went on to say that this was where he started and where he made his name and that he planned to get his place back at Arena Mexico meaning he wants to be back in EMLL and he said that as a matter of fact to the press afterwards. When he was asked about his name, he said that he would have a new name for the LL ELITE show on 10/25 and he was going one step at a time. The guy who had it the worst out of anyone last night was Mistico II as he had to come out right after this happened to compete in Block B of the CMLL Universal Title Tournament and to his credit he came out hitting a big amount of dives trying to make a statement.

This type of stuff used to happen all the time back 20 years ago when EMLL & AAA were in a heavy promotional war and then after PROMOELL (Promo Azteca) started up it got even worse, but as time wore on the huge jumps like this became rare and make no mistake about it....this is a huge move for the original Mistico as he was in a high position in AAA but I can believe from watching him there and hearing things that he never felt it was the right fit and that as time wore on those feelings grew more and more. Regarding his contract with AAA, he has a clause in it where he can work independent promotions if it doesn't interfere with his AAA bookings but this isn't your normal indie promotion as they are running shows at Arena Mexico home of the enemy. October 25th will definitely tell a tale for the future but last night was magical and he will have that moment forever.

Promociones Cantu announced on Thursday that they have moved their AAA TV taping date in Nuevo Laredo from 10/19 to 11/2.

The local police in Zocalo have pretty much concluded that Guerrero Negro Jr. was shot on Monday morning because of gambling debts and the bookies came to collect their way. Last word on Negro is that he is doing better and should be coming home fairly soon.
