I remember when Austin had Steen on his podcast a while back and Steen said something like, "I don't know what ever happened to El Generico but I hear this kid Sami Zayn is tearing it up in NXT" and Austin had no idea what that meant.

IIRC, the advice was always run your mouth in the ring. At the opponent. At the ref. At the crowd. At everybody.

My favorite thing was Austin's "research" consisted of watching a shitty TOP 100 MOVEZ video of Steen. That whole part still makes me laugh "Goddamn! Where'd you learn all these!?!"

Was it Brian Kendrick who was booked to wrestle Steen, watched the 100 movez video, and then asked to be booked against someone else?  My memory is hazy and I may have the players wrong.

To be fair, Kendrick's memory is likely as hazy.

Having seen Kendrick's shoots and talked to him in person, I kinda think Kendrick's memory is a little hazy when it comes to remembering he's Brian Kendrick, much less what happened in a match years ago. 

 

I can imagine him getting in his car to drive home and when.... errr, the smoke clears the next morning.... he's in Paul London's house.
