Gonna be home in about 2 hours, and if servers are cooperating I'm gonna be ready to smash some mother fucking skulls and make some mother fucking money.

....Kinda hyped up.

Good luck with that. I think this thing is completely FUBAR.

Xbox live is back - I just got online and checked the microsoft page to confirm that.

The GTA servers are still boned though

Yeah, I'm downloading the 1 gig add-on now, even if I can't do anything with it until later.

The Mavericks and Cavs on NBA-TV will be my fallback entertainment.

I still couldnt get on at around 1900. Might try again before work. Hopefully, i can get it to DL in the morning while im asleep.

I did mention "dick move," so I'm in the clear. Besides, I've done that 2-3 times, tops. Once, I shot a dude as he was trying to pick up his Buzzard, so I had to steal it and chase him around with it. I mean, come on. This was pre-mines, so now I'd just mine it.

EDIT: I'm really concerned about this - apparently you can now move with any sniper like you can the new sniper. I'm scared this is gonna mess me up somehow. We'll see the next time I get on the game in April.

Yeah I'm just messing with you. Why would we bother with Buzzards anyway? We're big enough dicks on foot.

I keep signing on here and there in the hopes that it's back up enough for me to at least download, but I'm about to just call it a day and catch up on Better Call Saul.

I've even done a Heist set-up mission (and then not got invited to the actual Heist following it)! I played Snake*!

I've also played a lot of Loading Screen Simulator 2015.

* Not a joke. If you sit in the passenger seat, you play Snake. It's how you crack the Bank security

Downloaded the new update fine. Got into single player fine. Got into online mode fine. Got the new stuff so I was able to go to Lester and then back to my apartment. Was able to invite Ax to the first heist setup. It was done, going onto the end thing, and then I got dropped. Now I can't get into any online mode, including solo.

Nah Dragon. It shouldn't be. I downloaded it outside of the game, then loaded the game, and holy shit - it actually let me online. I'm just looking at the clothes and checking out some new stuff. I doubt I'll bother with an actual heist until crew is on and together.

One thing has made me laugh though. It's like the heists finally arriving has given Los Santos a temporary peace treaty. I've been in a room for about 20 minutes and haven't seen a single message about someone getting killed.

Lester called me to come to his warehouse, so I figured I'd at least do the tutorial and get that out of the way. Drove down and there were two dots near the door.

I accidentally bumped an NPC car, and he gets out mad. I get out to fistfight him, and damn if one of the dots doesn't run over and kick the shit out of the NPC. I saluted him and he walked off. Weird as hell.

Edit: Annnnnd the literal second I hit post, someone comes in the parking garage I was hiding in and throws a sticky on my dune buggy. There you are, Los Santos, you old dame you.

We did the heist set-up. And then I got a white screen freeze. Quit game, re-load, takes forever to get back online, and kicks me back to offline as soon as I walk towards my front door. So I left Los Santos and avenged the extinction of humanity instead. With Power Armour!

Just wrapped up a long session. Heists are actually really well done. They're like multi-part missions, so if you like missions, you'll love these. Fun new vehicles, cool clothes, can't complain.

Meanwhile, Freemode was pretty much devoid of dots with any level or talent to them - guess they were all busy playing heists. Dan and Robert were running around smacking one dude with a golf club while I kept pretty much screaming "SHOOT THEM, DUDE! SHOOT THEM!" If he had, I would've torched him with a sticky bomb car, but that's neither here nor there.

Heard horror stories about the online / offline issues with Heists so I stayed away.  I may try again this afternoon.

Yeah I saw the night crew still on when I knocked out my Destiny stuff this am

I will be on tonight - working under the assumption I can get on

I got on long enough this morning to see the refurbs done to my apartment.  I HAVE AN ARMORY~!

But there are no guns in it. :(

And yeah, sooo many changes to the game.  What are these Daily Objectives and how do I do them?

The game finally has a solid black leather jacket.

Posted

I own almost every leather jacket in the game, even the shitty Chestnut one that I rarely wear.

I am buying that kickass black jacket as soon as I get online.

And NEW HOODIES~!

i am going to spend sooo much money on clothes.

So what is the deal with heists and set-up missions?  I take it that at some point I am going to have to get a riot helmet, a tac harness and tac pants from the clothing store so that I have a fully functioning burglary outfit.

I need to knock out some Crucible bounties today, but I will be all about crime when the rest of the gang gets online.

I don't think your actual owned clothes make any difference in how you will dress during the missions.  There are certain themes/possible selections.  I didn't own anything I wore during the two heists last night.

Also, that second heist we did was about the most fun I've in this game, even if there was one really wonky point in it.

I think you can buy the clothes and masks from the heists after you complete them.

J.T., the daily objectives are like a Freemode version of the objective from deathmatches like "kill someone with a vehicle" - you don't have to do them, but you get a bonus for doing so.

They're trying to encourage gameplay in less-used features, because one of my daily objectives (there are 3) was "challenge someone to an arm wresting match."

Also, for you trophy weirdos, they have added a bunch of new trophies and those XBox achievements for completing certain tasks.

The heists are the perfect bridge between the great characters from single-player and online play. Lester is spot-on perfect in the introductory mission. It's strange, 'cause we're a talky bunch in the game chat, but sometimes that covers up useful information whoever is running the show is giving you.

That second one took forever. It was a good kind of forever, but forever nonetheless. I swear, at one point I thought it was midnight, 1 a.m. tops and it was 4 a.m.

The "antagonist" missions are cute at best. A minor distraction. I've already bought two new vehicles and am wanting a third. I really want to try out the new dirt bike in a race - feels faster than the Sanchez.

Some stealable cars are now selling for twice their usual value. Dunno if this is a bug or a feature. I think the more expensive the better. I can tell you for sure that gang cars are selling for twice their value.

Also, news of this "bug fix," dammit: Fixed an issue where players in Passive Mode could be killed using the hose on the Fire Truck.

What the hell, game? You're putting Fireman Robert's livelihood at risk.

EDIT: Oh, J.T., the daily objectives are in the Interactions menu (the back button menu, like where you go into passive).
