jstout Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Dammit, Mel, don't try to Rick roll us with that crap. Holy shit, did I feel horrible when I woke up this morning. First song that popped into my head was "Ain't Livin' Long Like This." I could use the four days off. Good to see the family turnout last night - we had about, what, six or seven on at one point? And yeah, it started getting psychotic about the time you left, Mel. I went through a long stretch where all the hooker money in the world couldn't buy me a kill. Robert was doing OK with one guy, but he had my number - I was highly relieved when he left. That room flipped from 13 people below three digits to 3 people below three digits. The guy who was beating the crap out of me was something like a 119. Standard stuff, I'm telling you, the game gets psychotic at about 2 or 3 or so. All you Uranus boys should come back to Freemode sometime in the afternoon/evening - we'll find you a prime room and set you off killin' idiots. Loved that dude early in the night who put a $9,000 bounty on me and called me an "ass hole" in a text completely out of the blue. He threw a rock at the biggest hornet's nest he possibly could, and got stung repeatedly. I think about 5 of us descended on his Level 14 ass, but at least he had the sense to leave quickly. He came back, but he was way up in Paleto Bay and I was way too lazy to put any effort into chasing him. 1
CSC Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Man I forgot how fun it was to get into freemode with everyone and just kill everything that moves. Well ...at least once I re-figured out the controls. It look me like 10 minutes to remember how to run. 1
RUkered Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Sounds like I should have just decided to be tired today and stayed awake. I want to hear more about this firetruck cargobob thing. Sounds like the kind of shenanigans that are right up my alley. And Stout, me and Mel will set you up on a conjugal visit with our lady characters since you seem to be so keen on them anyway. (For everyone else, Stout takes the "see no evil" approach when we come running by in hot britches and high heels.) I do find it hilarious that you're the one that gets thrown back in jail on the same night Robert is tanker truck bombing people. The parole board was looking in the wrong direction. Like Mel said, I'm damn happy I got to see that in person. I was sneaking up around a corner with a shotgun out and here comes Robert out of nowhere. Knowing you drove that big bastard all the way from Zancudo without accidentally triggering the bomb makes it even better. Edit: Melraz just told me why y'all choppered a firetruck up the mountain. Now I'm really dying. "You think a mountain will save your passive ass, boy? Stone Cold ET says AHHH AHHH!!!!!" 3
CSC Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 That was beautiful. The level of creativity you guys have developed for destroying dudes in passive is pretty much an art form. 2
jstout Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 The guy in passive we somehow killed in the hotel pool was a personal highlight in 10 years of playing this game. A couple of minutes ago, I was like "hey, wonder if any of the fellas will be on tonight ... oh yeah." 2

A couple of minutes ago, I was like "hey, wonder if any of the fellas will be on tonight ... oh yeah." That guy was also memorable for being the only person that ever gave melraz negative rep. If you've got time, try out doing a mission or two with the sisters and see if that shortens the timer any. 2
Robert C Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 That was beautiful. The level of creativity you guys have developed for destroying dudes in passive is pretty much an art form. There were so many people in passive around us that we had to do something. I'd already drowned half a dozen at least. Would've been better with RUkered there to deliver Foghorn Leghorn on commentary. 1
Cristobal Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I got into a couple rounds of Acquire Targets last night. ...people just aren't good at this game. First round I was the one who got it initially. I immediately went into a dive and starting zipping in between the skyscrapers of downtown. Someone's missile winged me, but I was still flying, and I was able to keep flying long enough to get two points until my engine conked out on me and I crashed. Luckily, I put it down right in between two tall buildings, and people weren't good enough pilots to get it out of there. (One person got the flag and immediately crashed.) I flew back in, zipped off to the north, and most people were two busy dogfighting (by which I mean flying in circles, launching rockets as soon as they get a lock) to pay attention, and I was flying over the Alamo Sea when my fifth point registered. Second time didn't go as smoothly. I got it first again, but didn't get far before a missile took me out. Then it took forever to regain it because people just fired missiles as soon as they got a lock, whether or not the person they were locking on had the target. Someone ran out to the sea to the east, but I was able to chase them down and shoot them while they were still at 3 points. I got the target and literally just flew in a tight horizontal circle, which, because none of them knew how to use their guns, meant I couldn't be hit, before enough of them were dead that I just flew off back towards the city and got 5 points again.
Robert C Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 My preferred method for flying fighter jets is to crash into things quite frequently. Trees, buildings, bridges, the ground... whatever you've got really, I'm not picky. Hell, I've accidentally landed one upside down without it exploding somehow. 1

I was on for a minute or so last night. But every time I tried to join Havoc's session, it said he'd just left the session, so either he was session jumping like crazy, or the game is a bit buggered. But I had "I've forgotten how to play this game, what does this button do?" issues... even though I'd been playing Saint's Row which has a very similar set-up, I was constantly opening the change weapon window when I wanted to fire the one I was holding.
melraz09 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Yeah that lil dude was the only bad rep ive ever gotten (didnt check after my shit froze last night). Most of the time after im a dick to people they either just send me mur mur pistol messages or friend/crew invites. That is why my nickname is the mayor. Its because for some strange ass reason i cant get bad rep. Hell ive tried every day that ive ever played. Would love it to be 99% would rather avoid you. I cant stoop so low to call tanks or get into glitches though. I guess i shall just be loved forever and ever.

It's the similar games that'll do that to you. I've been playing Dragon Age, which is nothing like GTA, so I slide right back into it quickly. Coming in from similar games like Saints Row or Destiny or Watch Dogs was match harder.
Dirty J. Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Anyone else addicted to Sniperz vs Stunterz? The idea is so stupid, yet so fun. Raised platform in the sky with snipers on top. Guys in supercars trying to knock them off. 1
jstout Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I played that, was a Stunter. Rage quit after the first round. Damn near impossible to hit the snipers with the car. I mentioned a good one on here months ago. Last team standing on a walled-off bridge. Both teams have a fleet of cars. Object is to trap an opponent, get out of your car, drag him out of his and beat him to death with a baseball bat or run him over. 1
Robert C Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I have no idea if this is a coincidence after our cargobob/firetruck stunt, but I turned on my 360 for a few minutes last night to see if anybody was on and got this message from some random: "Fire Rescue Dept if u want to join" Melraz, you might want to check to see if you're being recruited to fly for em or something. 2
melraz09 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Hot farts and hand grenades i wanna try both them d/m. Oh hell thats dalm hilarious. If ive got one i might hafta play some boys to men, how dooooo iiiiii saaaayyy goooodbyeeeee toooo yeesstteerrrdaaayyyyy and join the future fireman of tomorrow. Naaah you fuckers cant get rid of me that easy. I aint a leavin till i get booted.....kinda surprised that aint happened yet actually..I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! 1
jstout Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 We'd have to boot you, we surely can't demote you, Private Pyle. 2
melraz09 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hey every crew needs that lower than dirt type who will do anything asked of him. 1
J.T. Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 The guy in passive we somehow killed in the hotel pool was a personal highlight in 10 years of playing this game. A couple of minutes ago, I was like "hey, wonder if any of the fellas will be on tonight ... oh yeah." Are you out of juvie yet? I have re-learned how to drive, but racing is a far away goal.. Now onto re-teaching myself how to fly a helicopter and kill people.
jstout Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I'm probably just gonna stay away from the game until I'm out of juvie (I hope that's how it works). Thank goodness for the OKC Thunder on the late-night games the last couple of nights. I need a break anyway after spending about 20 hours playing the game Tuesday. You come on in the afternoon/early evening, you'll have no problem remembering how to kill people. The competition, for now, is horribly soft.
Robert C Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Hell JT, you're probably as prepared to to racing as any of us, except maybe Stout. I haven't done a race since Tuesday NIght Titans. I got on last night for a little bit. Told myself I would go do missions with randoms for a bit to raise money and maybe get myself some brownie points with the game. Of course what actually happened was that I spawned into a room of terrible players and spent 2 hours wrecking em. Blew up more personal vehicles than I should've, and spent a shitload of money on explosives. I think I'm just gonna have to accept that I've become a freemode degenerate. I did at least get one good kill out of it - I turned another player into an unwitting suicide bomber. I was chasing down a guy trying to sticky bomb him while we were both in Oracles. I managed to get one on his rear bumper, then hit the brakes. I was about to trigger it when I noticed he was chasing down another dot. I waited till he caught up to the other one, triggered it, and got both of em. Towards the end I wound up just north of the mall with dots hunting me from 3 directions. I managed to snipe one off the roof of the mall, and hunkered down to face the rest. One guy would just not learn his lessons. I got him with RPGs in exactly the same spot 3 times in a row. Then he came around another way and ran into the proximity mine I'd left there. Those 3 never did get me. A fourth guy eventually showed up without me realizing it and sniped me from a roof. 2

The timer works the same whether you're playing or not, so it should finish up tomorrow night I guess. I'm still curious if doing missions with others really shortens it or not.

To your first point, you need to follow Melraz's rule. The last time it was just me and him, I went into a public room to buy some ammo and get a car out so it would be with me for missions. I asked if he wanted to join me or if I should just wait for a mission invite from him, and he goes, "Hell no I'm not coming in there. If I do, then we'll be killing white dots for the next three hours and I'm broke and need money." We've all been there. Well, some of us. I know most of you are smart enough to go buy ammo and sell cars in private rooms. I will never learn that lesson. Stout - this ought to give you a case of the willies. I went into a public room the other day to go sell one of those uninsured red gang cars I have in my garage. I made it, but the whole time I'm thinking, "Let a sumbitch come blow this thing up. I'll follow him to new rooms for revenge if I have to." Robert - that secondhand Allah Akbar is one of the funniest things I've read on here. Bravo. 2
jstout Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I don't sell cars in a public room unless it's something I pick up very close to a pay and spray, and even then I'm praying there's not a bunch of assholes waiting for me when I get out like we're prone to do to everybody else. I'll get oddly pissy at people who kill me first out of the blue. Sometimes I get my ass kicked instead of getting my revenge, but such is life. That dude who crashed a plane into me and killed me a few weeks' back brought out my Tennessee redneck side. I was pretty much "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM? SAY MY NAME!" as I Allah Akbared him over and over again just 'cause I could. Could've shot him, didn't want to. A valuable lesson had to be taught, and that lesson is (say it with me): You mess with the bull, you get the horns. Like when someone goes into a pay and spray in a public room. We gather outside to teach them a valuable lesson about the game: Don't do that. There's assholes around who will kill you. When we proximity mine someone's shiny Zentorno, we're teaching them a lesson - keep those things in the garage, son. There's assholes around who will blow them up. 1
Robert C Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I swear I don't understand how the bad player shit works. I blew up a ton of cars last time we were all on. The next time I got on, I blew up more, and pissed somebody off enough to get even more negative rep (I think it was some dumbass that got pissy after I came out of ammunation and found him hovering in a cargobob. Heat seeker took care of that. Dunno what he was expecting to happen). Anyway, got on for about 10 minutes last night, and the first thing I got was the good behavior reward.
