Ellenberger can have some bad fights. Now, early UFC run Ellenberger would definitely belong in there. Also, Jordan Mein can fight someone for the sub replacement spot. Did you forget that list of serial killers you just posted? He is a really good prospect, but if he runs into someone with decent takedown defense he might be in trouble. He's going to have to prove to me he can withstand some heavy artillery before I'm putting him in that stratosphere. That show has jumped the shark, circled back around and jumped it again. The problem is that there just aren't enough unemployed fighters to make up a good enough cast for us to care. They should make it a 23 and younger competition that is looking for promising guys before they can be signed by someone else. No one would watch, but it would at least serve a purpose. They're not trying to beat NFL ratings on a Sunday. They're just trying to fill a time slot with something that someone might watch. Mission accomplished only now there's no end payoff that benefits from the season long time waster. Now it's truly just a shitty show on a buried channel with no reason to watch. Elsalvajeloco Posted July 13, 2015 Author Share Posted July 13, 2015 They're just doing TUF with Conor and Faber to (1) keep Conor in the limelight while they figure out how promote the Aldo fight and (2) just provide content for Fox which is pretty much the only remaining purpose for TUF. Right now, everything Conor has touched has been gold. Most watched Fight Pass show, most watched FS1 UFC show, and most likely the most profitable fight at 155 and below in MMA history leading a fight that is going to be WAY more profitable than that. If it's not holding up an entire division and helps keep one of the biggest stars they've created on TV in some capacity, then why the fuck not? I mean not a lot of people watched the Rousey vs. Tate season, but people still bought the shit out of UFC 168. That's the ultimate end game. If it helps out 1/2 even a little, they will be extremely happy. Plus, it's going to be intriguing to see how this particular season does after the Women's World Cup raised FS1's profile.
