APRIL 2015 WRESTLING DISCUSSION

RIPPA

Maybe not putting him in the Mania main event actually *WAS* a good idea.

Yeah, putting him in a fucking ladder match was a lot better.

Not a fan of him being in the ladder match either.

A ladder match where he didn't really take any of the stuntman bumps is better than taking 15 suplexes on his neck and being mauled by Brock for 20 minutes, tbh. The lariat Brock gave to Roman on the apron probably would've turned Bryan into dust.

It's not like Bryan & Lesnar couldn't work out a match that protected Bryan from serious injury. Bryan is a ring general, and Lesnar is a freak of nature than can adapt to anything in-ring. I don't think any of us would have complained if they went out there and just wrestled for 15 minutes instead of throwing bombs at each other. I know that's what we expect from a Lesnar match now, but the layout of the match could have (and would have) changed if Bryan was in Roman's place.

I'm of the opinion that Bryan came back too soon, though. A few more months of rehab might have done Bryan wonders.

Yeah Bryan has enough credibility that he doesn't need to be thrown around by Brock for 10 minutes before his comeback. I think its believable that he can keep up with Brock. Shit the match could be a game of cat and mouse with Bryan running circles around Brock tiring him out and out witting him. Of course Brock is gonna have to snatch him hu\im up and German him a few times but nothing like the Cena and Reigns matches.

So I stumbled unto Brian Lee's Wikipedia page, I was surprised to find out that he is still alive. I could have worn he died of a drug overdose over a decade ago. I thought for the last 12 years that he was dead glad to see I was wrong.

Bryan needs to see a real doctor this time, and do what is recommended.

Bryan went into the whole thing on the Jericho pod a few weeks back. It did sound like he went to the recommended docs/specialists. It's just a weird nerve thing.

His whole attitude was worrying on that pod. Sounded very Kurt Angle-ish minus the drugs.

Bryan came back too soon and probably should have just chosen a different option/surgery. But if he's that badly hurt, why was he cleared and being booked for the Rumble at all? I accept that if he's hurt, he shouldn't be champ, but if he's this bad that he's right back on the shelf, how the fuck did he even get cleared?

I haven't watched the shows or anything since WM, but they are dumb and did no favors for Reigns by bringing a hurt, unhealed Bryan back at the time. They didn't do favors for Bryan, either, but at least in that case the latter deserves most of the blame for making the decision to come back too early and eschew certain surgical options.

Alex Greenfield and Court Bauer on this week's MLW talked up the Punjabi Prison match due to it being a Greenfield joint. Apparently, the original concept was a straight up ripoff of the Japanese C4 Deathmatches and Vince was all on-board with it.

After the sign-off, Kevin Dunn got involved and things got all changed due to him and his team half-assing it all or intentionally sabotaging it (my take, not Greenfields).

I can't believe we were robbed of a potential all-time classic smoke-n-mirrors shitshow like that...

I guess everyone is selectively forgetting the story, particularly out of Bryan's own mouth, about how when he told WWE he was ready to come back they put him through a whole bunch of tests before he got cleared to return. If it's the same nerve issue acting up again, then it's just one of those things.

Carson Palmer spent a large portion of large season lingering between "he could play next week if the nerve wakes up/he might never play again because we don't know if the nerve will wake up" and I guarantee he had better medical attention and saw more doctors than Daniel Bryan.
