There are plenty of stories nowadays about fishy games in the lower levels of sports around the world, just not the major leagues. If Asian betting syndicates can make their money fixing third tier Canadian or Malaysian soccer, which goes almost everyone’s radar but Declan Hill and company, why try and fix the Premier League or nfl?

Grigor Sargysan sees some dark potential in you, steps.

There's a nice paragraph with a number for gambling addicts to call at the end of the commercials! [INSERT SMILEY FACE HERE]

Ive said the disclaimer in gambling ads seem longer than the commercial itself. And 1 800 GAMBLER always be think of Gamblor

Maybe Ohtani can play minor league basketball for a year.

Considering that my Burning River Buckets lost last night in the ABA playoffs, I would be happy to announce him in our starting lineup next year. Plus, I think merch sales would go up a little bit.

Bob Nutting really needs to keep John Fisher around so he doesn't win the Most Dogshit MLB Owner championship belt.

Everyone has either moved up or down a slot with death of Peter Angelos.

I know Bobby Bonilla Day isn't until 1 July, but the Mets aren't the only ones still paying Bonilla.

He has a second deferred contract with the Orioles that's paying him $500,000 every year until 2029. He's had this deal since 2004.

So he hasn't just been getting $1 million every 1 July. . .he's been getting $1.5 million.

The former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani stole more than $16 million over two years from Ohtani to pay off gambling debts to an illegal sportsbook, according to an affidavit filed by federal authorities Thursday.

Federal authorities filed a complaint accusing Ippei Mizuhara, 39, of bank fraud. Bank fraud can carry a maximum fine of up to $1 million and/or up to 30 years in prison, according to federal sentencing guidelines.

Ohtani, referred to in the complaint only as a "professional baseball player," told authorities that he did not authorize the transfers.

Text messages showed that Mizuhara began gambling in September 2021 and began losing "substantial sums of money" later that year. Bank records also show that the phone number and email address on the account were changed to those associated with Mizuhara.

Investigators also relied on recorded phone calls from the bank in which Mizuhara falsely identified himself as Ohtani to "trick and deceive" bank employees into authorizing the transfers. The complaint outlined one specific transfer on June 20, 2023, of $500,000 to an associate of a bookmaker. While the bookmaker is not named in the complaint, his role and detail match that of Mathew Bowyer.

Yuniesky Betancourt (formerly of the Mariners, Royals, Brewers, Royals, and Brewers) was arrested for insurance fraud for staging a car crash for a payout. He's being represented by a public defender, if "trying to scam an insurance company" wasn't enough of a sign that he's briz-oke and has no money

The Colorado Rockies are now currently under Federal Investigation

It looks and sounds to me like the Rockies and the coach aren't in trouble here but that United will be. It's their job to keep him out of the cockpit and he clearly didn't force his way in.

Fisher already has a team in San Jose that that got it's new stadium and still doesn't draw fans because he's still the same cheap-ass that blows up teams as soon as they develop.

The malaise stems from ownership, not the city, stadium, or fanbase.

Same as every other team in this position in every other US sport

I don't think you understand the hardships Fisher has had in his life.

The way he pulled himself up by the bootstraps is so inspiring.

It's so horrible the way the greedy cities, players, and other team personnel abuse him.

He oughta have a statue.

I heard he once had to eat his camembert cold.  😞
