Elsalvajeloco Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 The UFC really needs to think about doing shoulder programming based upon Donald Cerrone doing crazy shit with his friends and it being the sole reason he has to fight 25 times a year.
Lawful Metal Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Is it too much to ask for Siver to spinkick McGregor in the liver?

Elsalvajeloco Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Taking all that into account, I would like this to be a competitive bout.
Hail Sabin Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I need Conor to win to keep my prediction alive of him winning the featherweight title this year. Looking forward to Benson vs. Cowboy since WEC was my favorite promotion when it was around.
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 From what I can glean, should McGregor be victorious on Sunday, the UFC might move the Aldo fight to Vegas on 5/23. The Croke Park execs want the fight, but the Dublin City Council has a 11 p.m. curfew. That means the UFC would have to move the PPV to midday. Dave Allen, the UFC's EMEA brand director, is still working it out. Aviva Stadium (seats 51k) may also be in play.
TheVileOne Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Kind of feel like Dana White has jinxed a Conor McGregor title fight by saying he gets a shot against Aldo if he wins.
TheVileOne Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Dana White promising a title shot to a specific winner usually ends in either disaster or the opposite of the desired outcome or it leads to a dull, disappointing fight.
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Dana White promising a title shot to a specific winner usually ends in either disaster or the opposite of the desired outcome or it leads to a dull, disappointing fight. Yeah, I am going to say that's not true.
TheVileOne Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 It's cool not to be superstitious, but that's basically what I mean when I say jinx. Not saying its true, just that I kind of feel that happens when these situations come up.
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 That's probably because it sticks out more when it happens.
hammerva Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 How is that actually going to work since the main card starts at 10:00 and the AFC title game IN NEW ENGLAND is at 6:30 on the same day? Have they given up the idea of a crowd at this show or is Dana that naive to think that MMA fans don't really care about the Patriots? Oh and forget about it if the Pats actually lose
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Meltzer said they did a good advance. The two fights people really care about are happening after the game is over.
hammerva Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I don't have now far Gillette Stadium is to the Garden but even if the game end at 9:00 the idea you are going to haul ass for 3 or 4 fights is nuts. Especially given the prices of UFC shows lately. Especially if my team lost. But maybe I am wrong and there is a strong crowd of non Pats fans in the area

But maybe I am wrong and there is a strong crowd of non Pats fans in the area I believe Simmons has said Gillette is like 45+ minutes from the city and that's under the best of situations and not game day/night.
epwar Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Dana White promising a title shot to a specific winner usually ends in either disaster or the opposite of the desired outcome or it leads to a dull, disappointing fight. Yeah, I am going to say that's not true. According to UFC President Dana White, heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem will get his chance to fight for UFC gold with a victory over Antonio Silva on the main card of UFC 156
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 You do know Dana has promised several dozen title shots over the last fourteen years? VileOne implied that something bad happened in nearly every case, which is certainly not true.

Millions of people live in those areas. Everyone isn't going to the game. This isn't like when Glover fought in Belo Horizonte during a big local soccer game across town.
Elsalvajeloco Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Tell that to Rory MacDonald. Tell Rory a lot of people live in Boston? 1

I'm not really sure I understand your point. I understand millions live in the greater Boston area but the question what was brought up was someone going from the game to the fights.
epwar Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Tell that to Rory MacDonald. Tell Rory a lot of people live in Boston? LOL! That was back to the title shot thing. Anyway, nice impression of a skeleton done by Lorenz Larkin at the weigh ins.
