piranesi Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Guys we just need to upload a virus into the earthquake's mainframe and we'll all be able to enjoy a hug with Bill Pullman and/or Paxton.
Reed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 The movie doesn't have the best timing, to be honest. Earthquakes are terrible, horrifying things. I don't know if people right now are going to want to go along to a film about one and be entertained.
Curt McGirt Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 And the new Pennywise for Cary Fukunaga's It remake is... http://www.fangoria.com/new/the-two-part-it-remake-has-its-new-pennywise/
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 He can't punch nature. That's not gonna stop him from trying. 2
Reed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Instead of an earthquake, it should have been aliens or some mad scientist doing it. That way you still get all the cool visuals, it's not insensitive to real-life Earthquake victims and you know the end of the movie is going to be Rock punching the fuck out of someone.
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 insensitive to real-life Earthquake victims This sounds like one of those hilarious complaints people send in to the FCC for Super Bowl commercials. 3
Reed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Like I said, it's just shitty timing. I can't see someone in Nepal genuinely going crazy because Rock makes a film. They have enough problems as it is. Still a bit jarring though.

Reed Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 It's not the Nepal box office money though. The question is if audiences everywhere else are going to want to turn off horrific earthquake stories on the news and then go out and pay money to see a film about a horrific earthquake.
odessasteps Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Do most Americans know there was an earthquake in Nepal? 3

I really don't give a shit about elsewhere. We've been too distracted with cops killing unarmed black males, protests (peaceful and not so peaceful ones), Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Star Wars, superheroes, sports playoffs, and Hillary Clinton eating fast food.
RIPPA Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 I am still shocked San Andreas isn't being directed by Roland Emmerich 1
J.T. Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Lionsgate and Keanu Reaves have confirmed that there will indeed be a sequel to John Wick. 4
Elsalvajeloco Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 This is "The Watch"/ Trayvon all over again, except not. Let's Be Cops came out the week after the death of Mike Brown (Jr.). 1
nate Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 This is "The Watch"/ Trayvon all over again, except not. Let's Be Cops came out the week after the death of Mike Brown (Jr.). Damn, I forgot about that one. I have such fascination for moments like that/this.

I have such fascination for moments like that/this. The list of films and television shows altered or delayed because of 9/11 = Too Soon is long and extensive. IIRC, the pilot for The Lone Gunman was only shown once on television because it featured a plot where shadowy figures in the US Government intended to fly a plane into the World Trade Center in order to goad rogue nations into claiming responsibility for the attack, spur weapon sales, and force Congress to sign legislation expanding the President's war powers. Now you know where the We Attacked Ourselves stuff came from.
J.T. Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Didn't they also alter Spider-Man 2 Spider Man One Removed the image of Spidey trapping a helicopter in a web spun between the Twin Towers.
Dolfan in NYC Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Spider-man 1. The sequence from the teaser was supposed to be in the film.
Bustronaut Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 That trailer is corny as hell. I think ZOOLANDER, of all things, was the first movie to be released where they had to digitally remove the WTC buildings following the attacks.
RIPPA Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 On the flip side - you had the hideous movie with Robert Pattinson that (here we go spoiling really old movies again) ends with Pattinson's charachter being in the Twin Towers when they where hit
