Gonzo Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Falcons/Panthers for the right to be the second team with a losing record to host an NFL playoff game. Lions/Packers for the 2 seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. Steelers/Bengals for the AFC North on Sunday night. Chargers in with a win. Ravens in with a win and a San Diego loss. Scenarios exist for the Chiefs and Texans, too, but they're way on the outside looking in. Either Tampa or Tennessee will have the #1 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft come Sunday night. And the Browns offered Rex Grossman $60,000 to sign with them for this week. He said no.

Brian Fowler Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Man, why did Philly have to go and ruin having every single NFC division up for grabs on the last day of the season?
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Johnny Football is done for the year. The Hoyer Express has a bad wheel. Connor Shaw, who's currently on the practice squad, may get the start. They asked Rex Grossman to come in for a week of clipboard duty. Seeing as how he's got his entire family with him in Palm Beach for Christmas, he's told them to fuck off. Your Cleveland Browns, ladies and gentlemen! 1
Technico Support Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Chargers in with a win. Ravens in with a win and a San Diego loss. Scenarios exist for the Chiefs and Texans, too, but they're way on the outside looking in. Ever find yourself hoping your team doesn't make the playoffs because, fuck 'em, they don't deserve it and will just shit the bed anyway? That's me right now as a Ravens fan. I just had a guy offer me free tickets for Sunday's game and I turned him down.

Hell, I'll hold a clipboard, but not for a dime less than 30K.
Tabe Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 F-U to the NFL for flexing the Green Bay/Lions game into the same timeslot as the Seahawks game so I can't watch it on local TV. And all of my friends have gotten rid of Sunday Ticket. Grrr, off to a bar I go...
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 For $15K, front row tickets to a Cavs game, and a picture with LeBron doing the chalk toss, I'll gladly wear the outhouse brown and nuclear waste orange with clipboard in hand.
BrianS81177 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Looks like Tyler Thigpen is less picky than Rex Grossman. He's signed with the Brownies.
BobbyWhioux Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Looks like Tyler Thigpen is less picky than Rex Grossman. He's signed with the Brownies. Grossman can be pickier than Thigpen because Grossman made more money in their respective careers. I imagine that is what this outcome means. Granted they both stole virtually every penny, but still...
Dewar Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Rex made it to a Super Bowl. He earned some of that coin. Maybe Thigpen wanted to get away from his family for the holidays. I'd ditch out on turkey dinner for sixty grand too.
Kevin Wilson Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Hell I am working Christmas Eve and Christmas for a whole lot less than that (but still more than I usually make). Money > Family.
Brian Fowler Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Must be great to be able to say no to 60K. 1
Death From Above Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I'd do it for $60. But you're getting what you paid for there.
Tabe Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I'd do it for $60. But you're getting what you paid for there. With your arm, I'm thinking $50 would be too high.

JLSigman Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Panthers/Falcons got flexed into the 4:25pm CBS slot, which makes it 20,000% less likely I will watch it.
dogwelder Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Drew Stanton out indefinitely Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton had his right knee scoped on Wednesday after he showed up at work with swelling, sources confirmed to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, leaving his availability for the playoffs in question. Stanton is on antibiotics, and there is no timetable for his return. The Cardinals are waiting to see how he recovers. Doctors drained the knee and discovered an infection. Doctors were surprised because he had not had surgery for the knee injury and suspect the cause of the infection came from outside treatment Stanton was receiving in trying to get the knee to heal. Ryan Lindley will start for the Cardinals in Sunday's regular-season finale against San Francisco. Lindley is getting the call after coach Bruce Arians initially said rookie Logan Thomas would start against the 49ers. Previously, Arians had said there was an "85 percent" chance Stanton would return for the playoffs. News of Stanton's scope and infection were first reported by NFL Network. The kicker is, though, that apparently the infection could be from Stanton going to doctors outside of the team according to PFT. The infection that could derail Drew Stanton’s potential return for the playoffs may have created a problem beyond the immediate. A league source explained to PFT that the infection he was treated for this week is believed to be the result of treatment he was getting for his knee injury outside the team facility. When Stanton suffered a grade two MCL sprain on Dec. 11, he didn’t need surgery, and was recovering with treatment and rest. The hope was that he’d be able to return for the postseason. But this week, his knee began to swell, and team doctors diagnosed him with an infection. However, the fact he didn’t have surgery or any treatment from the team that would lead to such an infection has them believing it stemmed from a treatment they didn’t perform. He underwent an arthroscopic procedure Wednesday, and is being treated with antibiotics now. What isn’t known is the nature of the outside treatment, or whether he’ll be able to make it back for the playoffs.
Gonzo Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Per Adam Schefter, Alex Smith is going to miss the Chiefs/Chargers game due to a lacerated spleen. Damn, but that sounds like it hurts.
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Speaking of the Chefs, did you know their WR corps has a grand total of zero touchdowns for the entire season? Smith has 18 TD's also! (9 to the TE's, 9 to the RB's) Btw, Chase Daniel is going to start for KC this weekend.
Brian Fowler Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Who was the player who got hit so hard he had to have Ann organ removed a few years back?
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Chris Sims nearly died from a ruptured spleen.

When Charles gets the rock 0-14 times the Chiefs are 2-5. When Charles gets 15 more carries the Chiefs are 6-2. Oh Andy, some things never change from Philadelphia.

Kuetsar Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 SNY is reporting that Rex Ryan and GM John Idzik are both out on their asses on Monday. I imagine Rex will have his pick of jobs and have a new one by Friday at the latest. . .
