Round #8372 in my ongoing battle with my health insurance company:

Insurance company: Your claim was denied because the provider put their ID# in the wrong box and we couldn't figure out who they were.

Me: Then how come the claim shows exactly the correct provider and you denied the claim for being an out-of-network provider? If you couldn't figure out who they were, how could you possibly have the right provider on the claim at all?

Insurance company: (crickets)

That's OK guys, this only the (at least, not an exaggeration in the slightest) 25th or more claim you've denied for being done by an out-of-network provider when they were not out-of-network.

I am seriously considering suing them.

So, I'm a hiring manager for the data department of an internet retailer. This job involves working in Excel, so we test job applicants by sending them out a test and asking them to send it back. The creative ways people have found to fail at this is astonishing. Three standouts:

1) One person sent back their file as a .numbers file. Attempted to convert, was not able to, and at this point I was done.

2) Another person sent back four Excel files. Investigation showed they'd saved a new version after completing each of the four tabs on the sheet, as the last one had all four completed files.

3) Someone copied every cell on the first tab into their email. No other tabs were done.

And the cherry on the shit-sundae: All of this happened today.

Just found out from a friend of mine that he's been kicked out of the house despite being the victim of an assault by his brother. Said brother got arrested, but his mother is accusing my friend of "ruining his brother's life."

I'm a pacifist but I really want everyone in ISIS to suffer a long and horrible death. They're up there with the Nazis in just being so irredeemably and unspeakably evil it's downright frightening.

Horrible as he was, even Osama had strategies and political goals. Pretty sure ISIS just like killing people.

In a broad sense, it's very similar to nazism. Hitler wanted to kill anyone he deemed to not be a perfect being. ISIS is an extremist sect of a religion that believes that it is their life's mission to take out all infidels.

Without getting into politics, we have been battling some form of terrorism in official capacity for 13 years now. Have we ever seen an enemy that seems to become more emboldened when different sects of it are basically made a non-factor?

Extra-large Dunkin' Donuts coffee doesn't cut it anymore.  Might be time for a caffiene detox to lower my tolerance.

Well considering some factions(not all, and not all at the same time) of Islam have been in war mode since the founding of the religion, its not a surprise. That and the Sunni/Shia battle makes the Christian religious wars seem tame. (I hope that is not too political, not trying to be, just historical context is all)

Nickelback has a new single that is as abominable as one would imagine. As it's charting well, I'll be hearing the fucking thing at least twice a day for the next two weeks.

Fuck...

I'm at the point of insomnia where I almost NEED some sort of sleep aid to get any shut-eye at all.  Regular generic sleep-aid pills don't help much any more; I need something on the level of Benadryl or Nyquil to really conk me out.

welp this eats a dick

Sitting around and waiting, have been stressed as hell since this was emailed out at quitting time yesterday.

Seriously, fuck that memo. It basically says "We lost a lot of money because our movies are eating dicks but we are dedicated to supporting the story tellers that are making our dick eating movies."

Not a single executive that thought a remake of Twister would do well against Guardians of the Fucking Galaxy is going to be punished. No one that let the director of Game of Thrones, a fucking franchise we OWN, go to Marvel to make Thor 2 instead of hiring him for our own properties is going to get fired.

Just a lot of admins and people living to check to check.

so it's taken a long time for me to learn how to drive because there was a serious fear thing I had to work through before I could. So now I finally bypass all of the fear, I know how to drive, and I have a reason to drive! Shows, hanging out with friends, night classes at a campus miles away!

My brake light went out on the way to the DMV. I got disqualified immediately.

So to follow up on my heart problems. Just found out via text conversation with my sister that an appointment I have on Thursday is basically to determine whether I am going to need a transplant.

My broadband keeps going out because there's a loose wire or something. Every time I phoned up the provider it would spontaneously start working for a bit. But now there's an engineer coming out to permanently fix it on Monday, September 8th, between 4 and 7 PM.

My 40th Birthday.

Having said that, 1) It's not that big a deal compared to heart surgery, and 2) It's not as if I was planning on going out and getting drunk or anything. Haven't tasted alcohol since 1988.

You can't die. You haven't seen how the story ends yet.

Never quit. You are loved and you are worth it. Suicide is never the best option, ever.

I've always been in a weird place with my own depression.  I don't know if I've ever seriously considered suicide, but I've thought a lot about it.  There's just a lot of stuff piling up...financial, health, etc. with no real change in sight.  I was on Zoloft for a little while, went off it when I lost my insurance, and haven't gone back on it yet.  Still wondering if I should try the meds again, but I've heard both positive and negative stories about people who use them.  Also, I've known more than one person who has committed suicide in the past few years and it hit close to home for my own mental state.

My room mate and one of my best Friends Paul Malotke, who used to post her eas IMWITHDRCOX passed away yesterday in his sleep. Paulie was a lurker here, but he loved Professional Wrestling and sports in general. He was a man  that was great at making you laugh and in turn someone who I loved to make laugh. I've never laughed harder or more often when I was in his company. Zac Fu was also tght with Paul and Im' pretty sure he feels the same way. I loved Paulie like a brother and like a brother we would fight and not talk but then remember why we were friends in the first place and go on like nothign happened. I was the one who made Paulie "Smart" and there were times he cursed me for it. He loved his little bubble of markdom and me "ruining" him for pro-wrestling was a running joke between us. I turned him on to Japanese wrestling, Lucha, Comics and playing Role-Playing Games. I introduced him to people that expanded his horizons and in turn he he made himself a better informed human being. I'm still stunned that he's gone but I had to say something because I fuckin loved the guy.

Rest In Peace "Coach"

James,

I'm sorry. One thing i've seen, in that I've known you here forever and I see you on FB, is that you're a guy with a lot of friends, and I am glad for that. It doesn't make it better or easier or right, but I'm glad to know that there are people that have rallied around you with your loss and that you can and do take heart in that.

I've ALWAYS felt different. My mom has told me that I knew back at an absurdly young age(think four or five), that I wasn't like other kids. I don't have any disabilities or conditions(that I know of), just am extra sensitive, introverted, and have problems relating to people. As I've gotten older, its mellowed(a little). In school I was always picked on, at least until High School ended. I'm bigger, 6' 2" or so, and always a little heavy.  I have been off and on meds probably for fifteen or so years, and they help to an extent.  Just have no self confidence what so ever, and have a hard time understanding if I come across the right way. Felt lost ever since I graduated from college, roughly 12 years ago. Tried therapy, but it basically boils down to "you have to just do stuff, and it will be okay". Had a series of dead end jobs, but just can't seem to figure out a) where I want to go, b) how to get there and c) where a) is better than just going into my room and hiding there for life. If it wasn't for having a loving family, I would have ended it years ago, I just couldn't/can't do that to them, and am playing it out to see how it goes. Not suicidal at all really, just look at what modern life is and it has limited appeal.

Not trying for sympathy or anything, such things are empty anyway; just figured everyone else is sharing, I might as well too.   Sorry if I am being a drama queen. . .
