He was usually the shittiest guy in the ring in most of his All Japan and half of his WCW matches. Misawa & Company will be in there tearing shit up, while Johnny stumbles and fumbles around botching moves and blowing spots and generally making us all question Mrs. Baba's taste in wrestlers. Yeah, he might've invented the diamond cutter/RKO, but his was the absolute worst and usually looked like he slipped and fell down and just coincidentally happened to take the other guy down with him. By most accounts he was pretty bad at his backstage office jobs. And let's not even talk about his nise Super Dave promos, the only tolerable ones of which were a few when he was the heel General Manager on Raw and basically seemed to be playing himself. TimLivingston Posted June 13, 2014 Share Posted June 13, 2014 He was the best guy in the 6/7/96 match, really stepping up when people didn't think he would. The rematch in September was another good one, but not as noticeable. He was also good in the tag league that year. It was definitely his peak.
