One of the funniest posters! Wow. What a complete douche.

Heh-heh, took that to draw you out from under your rock, you small crawly thing?

So you know how there is the Muta Scale to determine how severe a blade job a wrestler has done? I think we need the Resident Evil Scale to see how far off the deep end a poster has gone. Right now, OSJ is at a 6 on the Resident Evil Scale.

And I think that you and offspring515 need to get a room. We really need to start asking certain posters how they justify their existence again.

Great idea. What exactly are you bringing to the table?

Vast knowledge of pro wrestling, literature, film and music.  Long considered one of the funniest posters on the board when I do the  comedy.

Whatcha got, punk?

No words. I've got no words.

I guess I also have the ability to go more than 4 posts without a gay joke, so there's that.

It's called having a busy life. We can't all sit around in the daytime fantasizing how hot we were in our 20's.

I do take it back though. I just learned you've known George RR Martin for 30 years. Can we skype?

Well, and there is our shared admiration for PKD, so under your trollish exterior there's something of merit.

This really belongs in literature, but back when I was doing Axolotl Press, GRRM's "The Pear-shaped Man" was going to be one of our books. Unfortunately, another publisher scooped us by including the story in a collection so we scrapped the idea. Of course, as you well know GRRM lives here in NM as do I. I'm not going to say that we're buddies or anything, but we do know each other on a first-name basis.

I am a huge fan of Shawn Michaels. I love the dude. To each their own if you don't like him. I am also obviously a gigantic Shield mark.

Is Mind Games Shawn's best match in '96? And is that match as good as Elimination Chamber or the Raw follow up? I know what I am watching later!

I know it is super hard to compare a singles match with Foley against a six-man. But it's worth discussing.

I think Cesaro is a way better comparison than Reigns. Reigns is clearly The Rock circa Rocky Maivia. Aside from the baldness, Cesaro is a hell of a worker, not particularly a good promo and much like Michaels came up through the territories/indies. He wasn't just chosen from the beginning of his career like Reigns.

Additionally, I can't confirm this but knowing my wife, I don't think Reigns would be her type at all. She'd probably go for Rollins and for sure would like Punk. YMMV.

The first point of comparison that comes to mind is that both those matches felt very different from what you'd expect in WWE/WWF, even right when they were announced.

For Shield vs. Wyatts, a high-profile heel faction vs. heel faction match in WWE is nearly unheard of (which probably has something to do with why we got "This is awesome" chants before the match even started).

For Michaels vs. Mankind, Foley had been in the WWF for less than a year, and being put in the main event so soon was pretty unexpected.  Also Michaels was coming off big matches with Bret and Bulldog earlier that year, which were more on the pure wrestling side of things.  I know he had the No DQ match with Diesel, but my point is, this felt like it was going to be something completely different for him.  Something really crazy.

If you want an apples-to-apples comparison, I'd put the HBK/Vader six-man at International Incident up against any Shield match. It's a shame that match has been largely forgotten, because it's awesome.

Ya know, your act was tired ten years ago, now it is just pathetic.

The match with Diesel was surprisingly good, there were actually moments when suspension of disbelief kicked in. I think everyone who has been bagging on me for my Reigns predictions has completely missed the point. Reigns is far more advanced after 4 years than Michaels was, looks more convincing and has tremendous upside. The best that can be said about Michaels is that he had a number of very good matches with a variety of opponents. At 4 years in the biz, there's really no comparison.

I think I may have that somewhere, I will give it a look as my recollection of it is pretty hazy.

In the pantheon of "sentences no one ever expected to be written on DVDVR":

God I miss the relative sanity of March Madness...

I worry that March Madness was some sort of Lovecraftian act that manifested this guy into our plane

My favorite Shawn match is probably the Goldust ladder match handheld. The one thing that's most impressive to me about Shawn in 96 is his versatility. He has a lot of matches which are laid out differently from each other and that feel very different.

I still think there are more good televised Shield matches from the last year if we're looking at the numbers game.

I will say there's a lot of Shawn in 96 I still haven't seen yet though. I did go through a bunch of matches not that long ago.
