Go2Sleep
An early Goldberg match. First time using the spear, carelessly tosses Riggs onto the guardrail, and really sticks the jackhammer for the win.
Go2Sleep
Oh, and I don't know if this counts because, technically, the squasher loses by DQ, but just watch it... Don't be fooled by the length, this includes the setup with Kendrick mouthing off to Vince, a video package, and some ridiculous post-match violence. You kinda forget how nasty pre-PG WWE could be. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwzDeLbRe-A And just for fun, here's the following week where Lesnar destroys Zach Gowan in front of Zach's mom. Similar situation with some backstage stuff, video packages, and the aftermath. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nJu2YmawAY
Pete
The Zach match really was what Brock vs Cena should've been. I loved Cole's performance here- he was awesome selling PISSED OFF at Brock murdering the one-legged kid and giving his mom the stink-eye. Maybe his best match call ever. Big Rob
Some more arse-whipping to follow...Dr Death vs The Hardy Boys - WWF Heat 21st Mar 99http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZEZqCw6m0oMaybe if we had got more of this, instead of the ill-conceived Brawl For All, then Dr Death would have stood a chance of getting over in WWE. Granted, I can scarcely name much that he did in the company, but this has to be the highlight of his tenure there, killing the Hardys where they stand. The most brutal thing happened arguably after the match, when Jeff gets dropped right on his shoulder and head in the most awkward, hurty backdrop driver ever.-----George "The Animal" Steele vs Rick Bolton - WWF Championship Wrestling 13th Jun 81http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0pl3o5Vee0This, much like the Headshrinkers match I posted earlier, is a perfectly fine squash. Until the brutally sick finish. Rick Bolton's should gets fucked up.-----Dr Death and Terry Gordy vs The O'Days - Clash of the Champions XIXhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBiLenUZa2gSteve Williams is a big fan of dropping people on their heads, this is further proof. I think Larry O'Day was meant to be a big deal in Australian wrestling, but he's old here and looks like shit, so he's prime to take a beating. And his kid? Ditto. Go2Sleep
I love this thread so much... Here's a classic. The match that put the Acolytes on the map as a team... The chair shots Bradshaw was dishing out were sick. Speaking of Bradshaw, here he is in the JBL days warming up for the I Quit match with Cena by making his own rules against Scotty 2 Hotty. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xejsz1_sd-19-05-05-jbl-vs-scotty-2-hotty_sport?search_algo=2#.Ue-kdlPkBD0 Here's another Brock match, this time against someone who went on to a little more success than most of the victims in this thread. Not as violent as the Spanky and Gowan matches, but Brock still brings the pain throughout the match including one of the better F5's of his career. How could we forget this one? A young, athletic HHH schools some jobber, prances around, and then the finish...

DouglasC
-----George "The Animal" Steele vs Rick Bolton - WWF Championship Wrestling 13th Jun 81http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0pl3o5Vee0This, much like the Headshrinkers match I posted earlier, is a perfectly fine squash. Until the brutally sick finish. Rick Bolton's should gets fucked up. http://www.canoe.ca/SlamWrestlingBiosB/bolton_rick-can.html Hit by a car when he was 15, Bolton had a unique ability to twist his arm all the way around. The first time that Steele met Bolton in a Detroit locker room, he knew that it had potential."I said, 'Gee, how would you like to take a trip to New York with me?', just kidding him. Then later on, I had him fly in to Philadelphia and we did have a match," recalled George 'The Animal' Steele to SLAM! Wrestling. The match took place in Hamburg, PA, and Steele thinks it was in 1976. "He had some sort of a freaky shoulder or elbow. I'm not exactly sure how that came about, how he got it. But when I lifted him up for the flying-hammerlock, his shoulder appeared to be out of joint and his elbow was cockeyed. It was horrible, horrible looking thing.""After I dropped him, I threw him out of the ring and started kicking him. Fans called two ambulances. The acting commissioner at the show came out and started chewing me out."Later, Steele even got a letter from the governor of Pennsylvania saying that it was too risque. And now you know ... the rest of the story.
Go2Sleep
A couple more for tonight... Hey, remember when Ken Anderson looked like he was gonna be a star? Maybe Funaki gets a hair too much offense here to be considered a pure squash, but the way he sells the Green Bay Plunge makes up for it. And how about a rare "little guy squashes a big guy" match? Of course, this is what it was building to, so there went that trend.

MORELOCK
Dr Death and Terry Gordy vs The O'Days - Clash of the Champions XIX A simple, great spot from this match that I loved is right at the beginning, when Gordy bounces the elder O'Day off the ropes to try to get out of a side headlock, and O'Day ACTUALLY HANGS ONTO IT, then Gordy has to kidney punch and try again. So simple and subtle, but does so much.

Big Rob
Will update the first post a bit later, but I will say that NXT was great for squashes this week. My favourite of the two was the Tyler Breeze one that Numersix posted, but the Ascension tag was probably the most I've enjoyed either of those two guys. Good stuff. It looks like this was his WCW debut, so it gets over his character and he's doing the "wrong way round pin" shtick again, which I always kinda liked. Fun beatdown after the match too, him and Sullivan were a fine double act. This made me want to see a competitive mid-90s Kamala match, though if I did I'd probably be disappointed.
