Guest Edwin Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Main card is a lot better than some of the other ones we've had this year with the exception of Shields/Lombard which should be the usual Shields snoozer if Lombard can't blitz KO him early in the first round. Diego is a big step up in competition for Jury. I think Jury takes it either way and should bump him into the top 10 with a win. Condit's the favorite, but I wouldn't count T-Wood out. He's got the wrestling to grind out a decision over Condit. Either way I'm still guessing we'll see Condit bounce T-Wood had off the cage similarly to how Marquardt bounced his head off the cage in Strikeforce. Hendricks takes the welterweight title. Also Gastelum/Story, Bermudez/Hettes and Campuzano/Scoggins sound like decent undercard fights.
Elsalvajeloco Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 I just updated the Machida vs. Munoz thread with the rating and noticed that it did 122k. At this point, wouldn't there be more eyeballs if the last four prelims were on Fight Pass and not FS2? I know there may be a little bump in terms of fighter sponsorship but it can't be that much more (if any).
Joe Lucia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 There are days where FS2 doesn't draw 122k for the day. I'd assume it's less about drawing eyeballs to the UFC as it is drawing eyeballs to FS2 and eventually getting it's carriage improved.
Elsalvajeloco Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 I don't know how many people are going to interrupt their early evening plans for a Kelvin Gastelum fight.
TheVileOne Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Wonder why they couldn't get the prelims on FS1. Does it have to do with how many fights they can allocate on FS1 or does FS1 have some big programming at that time.

J.T. Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I don't know how many people are going to interrupt their early evening plans for a Kelvin Gastelum fight. Especially when he's fighting Rick Story. I love me some Ruthless Robbie Lawler, but he is going to get KTFO by Hendricks in the attempt to land a big shot of his own. Hendrick's iron chin and granite head will weather the storm in a slugfest.
Craig H Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 You know me. You know who I'm rooting for. That said, fuck him up, Johny!
J.T. Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Wonder why they couldn't get the prelims on FS1. March Madness, yo!
Guest Edwin Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Especially when he's fighting Rick Story. Ironically enough, he's one of the 2 guys who actually has win over the favorite in the upcoming WW title fight. I know, I know...
Zero Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 This is the first card, I've been excited for in some time. If in 2014, Robbie Lawler becomes WW champ, that'd be amazing. Either way, they're going to be throwing bombs.
glfpunk Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Man it would be ridiculously awesome if Lawler pulled out a win here.

Especially when he's fighting Rick Story. I love me some Ruthless Robbie Lawler, but he is going to get KTFO by Hendricks in the attempt to land a big shot of his own. Hendrick's iron chin and granite head will weather the storm in a slugfest. Even though Steven Wright has helped him out a bunch in terms of technique, Hendricks can still get a bit wild here and there. That's what makes this fight very interesting. 1
Craig H Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 My biggest concern is that Johny fucks around too much and leaves his chin out there. He took some hard shots from GSP that sort of annoyed him more than anything. Lawler hits significantly harder, though.
Zero Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 We do have to remember this is the same Robbie Lawler who just a few years ago lost a dec to LORENZ LARKIN. I'm really hoping for a Lawler upset. 1
The Natural Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Best looking UFC PPV this year. Hope UFC starts producing their 2013 form as it hasn't so far this year. 1
TheVileOne Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Only fight I'm really dreading is Shields/Lombard, mainly because I don't think Lombard has a style that will stop Shields.
keith_h Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Yeah if Lombard doesn't KO Shields real quick, I'm sure we'll get usual Shields snoozefest. 1
TheVileOne Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Hendricks weighed in at 171.5 pounds on his first attempt...WTF
epwar Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Well, they're in Texas and several guys looked noticeably annoyed when the guy doing the weights (about 375 lbs, seated in a chair) said they were off.
keith_h Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Hendricks weighed in at 171.5 pounds on his first attempt...WTF Too many Nutella sandwiches from Dolce. 1
keith_h Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 He's got two hours, I'm sure his team is locking him in the sauna as we speak.
TheVileOne Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Per Fox Sports 2 announce team: If Hendricks cannot make weight and he wins the fight, he will not be champion. If Lawler wins, he will be the new champion. Fight will still be five rounds.
