Technico Support Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Dave is a national treasure. I fear for the day when he quits and all we'll have is Alvarez. 2
cool arrow Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Dave is a national treasure. I fear for the day when he quits and all we'll have is Alvarez. Cheer up, we'll still have Todd Martin! (Dave, please don't ever retire.) 1
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I just want Johnny Sorrow to do the RAW report podcast. He catches shit that I miss on the storytelling. I'm more like Alvarez these days where I can't remember what happened the week before.
odessasteps Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I always found it funny how bryan takes notes during raw as it happens and still misses stuff. And that was during 2 hour shows. Never has the phrase "we watch so you dont have to" been more apt

DMN Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Any wrestling fan should have encountered a fuckton of wrestling fans away from the internet anyway- BY GOING TO SHOWS Not that I've been to one since the Summerslam with Hunter/Brock, but still I'd love to go to more LA area shows... but the Juggalos, man...
ben. Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Just an interesting little nugget I read in a back-issue Observer: "The numbers we were given was that DiBiase wanted $100,000 to $125,000 for a 100-date deal and WCW didn't want to make that commitment which should tell you something about future contract negotiations with a lot of wrestlers because there aren't a lot of DiBiase-calibre performers in this country. He was also told his first match back would be a 30:00 draw with Dustin Rhodes in a U.S. title match at the Halloween Havoc PPV show (which would have replaced the scheduled Steve Austin in the spot), which he apparently didn't feel like was the appropriate way to begin with a new promotion."
cool arrow Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 So, wait, Ted DiBiase was going to wrestle for WCW?
ben. Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Apparently had the money been right, he was considering it but WCW lowballed him. He retired two months after Dave reported this when he got hurt in AJPW, I believe. Another funny thing from the same newsletter: "WWF reportedly sent WWN a legal threatening letter about usage of the initials." Funny how things turn out, right? 1
cool arrow Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Man, DiBiase vs. Dustin in WCW would've been sweet. Considering some of the useless choads that were stinking up WCW at the time (Charlie Norris, Big Sky, the Cole twins, and on and on) lowballing DiBiase was just stupid.
jstout Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 It's very nearly freakin' TWENTY FIFTEEN and Dave still has problems with his email? Who's their hosting service?

odessasteps Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I used to write the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Now I write the C.M. Punk Observer Newsletter.

Tromatagon Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 When Juno is your backup that's actually pretty likely
piranesi Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 It's not the ISP's fault if your wife picks up the phone while your trying to download. Thankfully, Brian turned him onto this: That shit should fly in now.
Spritenaut 32 Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 It's not the ISP's fault if your wife picks up the phone while your trying to download. Damn it. I thought of a good dial-up joke last night, and was going to post it this morning, but you've beaten me to it.
jstout Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Seriously, why doesn't he just get a gmail account at this point so he doesn't have to tell people every two weeks that his email is inexplicably down?

AlfredoE Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) I thought it was the actual observer site email that was down and not Juno. --For the time being, please send all e-mails to me to [email protected] If you sent anything to [email protected] or [email protected], since Wednesday morning, I would not have received it. We're working on getting this fixed but for now if you've sent anything, please send it again. there's always some type of wacky issue when you have your own .com email account. The Nature Boy Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I imagine that WO's website is hosted on Geocities. Yahoo just doesn't have the heart to tell him that they've closed it so they just keep hinting at it. 1
Spritenaut 32 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Geocities is still real to him, dammit. 1
cool arrow Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Has anyone listened to the WO radio show with Cornette today? If so, does he touch on politics at all?
