Curt McGirt Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Oh btw, Warlord are from LA (I knew that, at least that they were US, but it didn't register at the time)
zendragon Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Yes, I got see Doro play Ace of Spades as a tribute to Lemmy and Phil, Chris Holmes play a WASP set then close with a cover of "Keep on Rockin in the free World" and 3 inches of blood reunite
Curt McGirt Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Unfortunately my buddy Professor Black had to cancel. I hope you saw faux Manilla Road, Hellbutcher (AKA Nifelheim), Bulldozer, and Jag Panzer along with the headliners as well.
zendragon Posted March 20 Posted March 20 The Manila Road tribute, along with Loudness cancelled, I think Bulldozer pulled out a while ago.
Curt McGirt Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Awww that sucks. I've seen Bulldozer (right up front with my drinks on the monitor amp in front of the keyboard player, I'm sure he wasn't happy about that haha) and they were GREAT. They had the Italy excuse and Loudness had the Japan excuse if nothing else. The entire F.Y. Fest in Cali was just cancelled after the promoter was accused of sexual misconduct and bands started dropping off left and right. The dude who runs the label Tankcrimes, who is a total sweetheart, tried to take it under his wing and keep it going but it just wasn't feasible and they shut the whole thing down and split it up into different venues I guess. Death Side were reuniting (!!!) and coming over, I hope that still happens. Apparently Ticketmaster was involved in the operation too so yeah, fuck that.
Curt McGirt Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 (edited) Whoops, the name was C.Y. Fest, not F.Y. Fest (I still don't know what the C.Y. stands for). Subhumans (the headliners) already got a show with Ghoul and MDC set up. Also I was completely unaware that Hell's Heroes was not yet over until a buddy of mine there started posting photos. Duh. Apparently Hellbutcher played no Nifelheim but did cover Slayer and Maiden. Edited March 21 by Curt McGirt
zendragon Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Yhea saw a great UDO set of, Midnight Mover, Fast as a Shark, entirety of Balls to the Wall, the Burning Fire and Princess of the Night. Sanctuary was fun as was BAT. Eternal Champion did a great job for coming in last minute, Night of the Vampire covered Night of the Vampire by Rory Erikson. One more day!
zendragon Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Yhea the CY Fest was scheduled in a Livenation venue, the new subhumans show in a in an independent venue. Most decent size venues are Livenation now. I know a bunch of bands also jumped off Punk in the Park after it came out that the organizer is super MAGA
zendragon Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Every year at Hell's Hero there's this old couple and by old I mean got to be pushing 80. And The Lady wears Fuck Me Satan bootyshorts and not much else. It's a very body positive sort of vibe to say the least. Like this fellow who was very excited to see his favorite band Sodom a few years back
Curt McGirt Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Sounds a lot like Obscene Extreme (now I guess Obscene Society?) fest out in the Czech Republic, where there's a bunch of nudity and goofy stuff. I saw a photo of somebody dressed in some silly all-over button up shirt that had a fast food logo of some sort I believe dancing at Hell's Heros yesterday. Wish I could remember the logo. And yeah, Bat is awesome. Get yourself somebody who looks at you wearing an executioner's hood like that lady is at that guy, folks.
zendragon Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Yhea a giant bag of Cheetos and a Giant Cowboy hat, Plus Sodom guys returned and the old lady was wearing corpse paint and a thong and black tape over her nipples and not much else! Got to see the new line up of White Wizzard, Tankard, Burtcher, and Blood, Fire, Death (hell Butcher got up and did a song!)
Curt McGirt Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 (edited) I was gonna ask how Blood Fire Death went (and I want the fucking setlist). I saw some video with Hellbutcher on vocals, they were doing "Hades" (I think). Saw some Butcher too and I love them anyway, so, awesome! Probably would have drank too much during Tankard EDIT: Oh I also saw some At War and was disappointed they didn't wear any camo haha EDIT II: And the guy with the all-over print shirt, I think it was the Arby's logo Edited March 22 by Curt McGirt 1
Curt McGirt Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 Here we go Quote A Fine Day to Die Enter the Eternal Fire The Rite of Darkness Sacrifice The Return of Darkness and Evil Raise the Dead Shores in Flames Born for Burning Woman of Dark Desires Blood Fire Death Hammerheart (outro tape) 2
Curt McGirt Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 Speaking of Bathory covers! Blood Fire Deathgrind... I mean, c'mon. That's too fucking good. Cadaveric Incubator rule anyway, but this is super cool. 1
FireThunder Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I love Hamatom so much. The English title of the video they just released is "STAMPF (The best potato dishes at a glance)" and it sure is.
Teflon Turtle Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I'm not a huge metal guy, but I remain grateful to Malakai/Aleister Black for introducing me to Amenra: I mentioned Amenra to one of the owners of my local record shop. I was recommended a whole list of bands, Neurosis among them. Apparently, they just surprise-released a new album. I guess they jettisoned their former lead singer/one of the founding members after it turned out he was an abusive, generally terrible person. I can get with this, though:
Brian Fowler Posted April 2 Posted April 2 More new Converge less than five months after the last new Converge. Hum of Hurt out June 5 1
Curt McGirt Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 I hope if the kiddos don't know Bathory then that cover of Behemoth's turns them onto them/him. 1
