Yeah boy, I needed some powerful food here today and this is it. Thunderous, ripping goregrind. I would like ten albums of this please.

EDIT: Didn't think about it but here's their first demo https://stenchtrenchprod.bandcamp.com/album/cerebral-tumour-demo-i If you want to get ahold of both head here: https://headsplitrecords.storenvy.com/ I will vouch for pretty much ANY other thing Headsplit puts out as well. Blind purchases are possible like 99% of the time. Working through the couple new tapes on top of the list and it all rips. They also do traditional metal and thrash, not just gore-drenched nastiness like the above. Go pick up Rat Attack or Wild Dogs!

Here's another heavy heavy thing that Headsplit just dropped. Some of the riffs and tempo shifts down the stretch are just awesome. And look at stupid their logo is! 😄

You know what's really really good? This album. Trust me, it rules. Took me forever to finally listen to it but man, it's excellent. I never really took W.A.S.P. that seriously -- great gimmick, great singer, solid players, decent songwriting that was a little too Kiss in places, and of course the PMRC and Chris Holmes in his swimming pool -- but they themselves decided to get serious here and pretty much cranked out their version of a rock opera. It's dark, it's strong, and Slayer themselves would approve of the cover-art.

A short from the band Dead Pony showed up on my Youtube front page. I really liked the style of music (Glaswegian nu-metal/metalcore) so I went to their IG page and noticed that they're followed by Joe Hendry.

I just thought that was a funny little coincidence in my fandoms of music and wrestling colliding.

I feel obligated to listen to that ^^^* and... it's perfectly fine. I'm with Abaddon on the Venom fight but I guess Cronos can rip off "Black Metal" and it is perfectly fine.

* Just guess what number you press with shift to form the ^ symbol? A really fitting one, that's what!

Anyway, I got this in the mail

The Necromancer of Rock - The Origins of Death SS (1977-1982)

And it's awesome. Steve Sylvester was/is a fucking wild man for doing what he did. There wasn't even really punk when he decided to take this Alice Cooper thing to the utter extreme. And if even half of the shit that transpired, orgies etc. actually happened then whoa. He tells it pretty dead earnest and it doesn't feel like BS... though I'm inclined to/want to believe it all anyway. A very good read about a very very obscure subject. Here's some of the tunes to give you an idea of what we're dealing with...

Spoiler

Crepulent and dirty. Such vibes.

They went in a lot of different directions but my money stayed with the guitarist, Paul Chain. He apparently cut out/injured his eye in a Satanic ritual (!) and started a solo act after leaving the band. He's somehow even crazier; he sings in his own phonetic nonsense language, formed different "compartments" for his music (Violet Theater is doom metal, plain old Paul Chain is more stoner rock, Paul Chain the Improvisator is freakout stuff, and now he just goes by his real name). Apparently he became a Jehovah's Witness too but that's just a rumor. He did some collabs with Wino, Lee Dorrian from Cathedral, etc. The music, especially the earliest, is fan-tas-tic:

This is among the darkest pure doom metal you will ever find. Bar none.

This almighty, glorious first-wave black metal album is finally finally FINALLY coming to my collection. It is one of my missing links and so important to me. The album after it is just as good, too:

They're so weird, unique, and cool. Don't expect Norwegian black metal here. No, sir.

Yeah I think that's it for the Ungol. They were on their retirement tour and were gonna end it in Cali. I think we still have studio material forthcoming however, and if it's as good as that last album then GIMME. God I love those guys.

In honor of that show I really should pull this out today
