So, I decided to revisit this after quite awhile, and though it isn't their masterpiece (I just can't get over Cross the Styx) it's an incredible step up from the repetition of Diabolical Summoning. The songs are just so well-written, riffs for days, insane tempo variation, and one of my favorite death metal vocalists ever. And that cover! Benscoter really outdid himself there. Killer LP.

Testament has a new album out: Para Bellum. It's a beautiful mix of thrash and doom elements. And those drums! Gene Hoglan has moved on but his replacement (Chris Dovas) beats those drums like they owe him money.

Heard a new song and it rules. Ron is on vocals and he sounds good. Buddy of mine was complaining about the coverart being AI but I can't tell if it is or is just CGI. It looks like shit either way to me since that could easily be painted. 

Re: the 3 album thing, Slayer: Wrong. Sepultura: Wrong: Maiden... can be argued that it's S/T, Killers, and Number instead. But Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits? Fuck yes. And MORBID VISIONS, SCHIZOPHRENIA, BENEATH THE REMAINS. PERIOD. (Also, I just finally got into Arise. It rules. I was dumb.)
