assfax
Weather's good. It's Saturday. It ain't even noon yet. Two pounds of filet mignon from the butcher shop pre-chunked up for kabobs. Grill is cleared for take off. Screaming hot charcoal chimney is white hot. Haven't even gone to the liquor store yet.
Tabe
Last summer the wife and I rented a condo for a weekend getaway. As part of that, I bought a package of filet mignon from Costco, something in the 2 or 2-1/2 lb range. First time I'd ever had filet mignon where I got as much as I could possibly want to eat. Restaurants, you're lucky to get 10oz. Had never bought it for myself to cook - I always buy ribeyes instead. So this was a special treat. And holy cow was it awesome. The lobster tails we had with the steak was just a nice bonus

We typically get the New Yorks (which, for a pack of 4 is less than one steak going to a good steakhouse around here), cook them up rare in a grill pan and they are amazing. driver
I weighed in yesterday at 269 lbs. When I started this journey at the end of May in 2012 I weighed 364 lbs. Five more lbs and I'll have lost 100 lbs. Through a combination of watching what I eat/drink and some exercise I was down to 289 by April '13. At Xmas I weighed in at 300. Somewhere between then and now the weight started coming off again. During that time the only real physical activity I have had has been loading/unloading my truck during my route at work.
Burgundy LaRue
Congratulations, driver! I need to go on a major diet myself. Alas, the fat will probably kill me soon enough. But optimism, just a bit, still gives me hope that I'll find the motivation.
driver
Thanks, Burgundy. Staying motivated was the hardest part of it all but once I found the motivation I was almost unstoppable.
JLSigman
Thanks to the AHCA, I have health insurance for the first time since November of 2010. I am seeing a doctor at a practice which is under one of the big health care umbrellas here in town (which means they'll all take my insurance), and he has plans to send me to a pain specialist. While checking other doctors, the dude who put my pacemaker in back in Dec 2006 is now with a practice associated with the same group, so I can get that checked more regularly. So, for the first time in a year or more, since the fibro got worse but I had no pain meds to help, I feel like I might be living a little, not just existing.

Red is Dead
Pretty much. Figuring a good way to work out some manly agression as well! Weighing up the skip vs stick it in the boot and take to the local tip option. Costs and benefits of both.
Swift
Weighing up the skip vs stick it in the boot and take to the local tip option. You likely lost most of the board with that sentence My good news is that I've made almost $500 in overtime this year... despite not having worked a lick of overtime this year. Our company started using a new payroll company at the start of the year, and three times now I've been paid a handful of hours overtime pay. I'm not complaining obviously, and I'm not about to mention it to anybody, but I'm still curious as to how. I can only assume it's some incompetence on their part. Good Friday ended up as 4 hours stat pay and 4 hours overtime.
Red is Dead
2 nations divided, by a common language, and about 200 years of new songs and dances. Just the bits you got wrong though... Let me rephrase. Fixin' on decidin' whether I oughta dump the back yard vegetation in the purchased steel receptacle or whether I oughta dump the back yard vegetation in the trunk of my saloon and recycle it. I need to lie down now.
Red is Dead
And the trip to malvern, PA is booked. Now to book out touristy stuff for philly proper. Prussia mall and big red tour bus should do it. Lovely stuff.
Bustronaut
I gotta say, I thought the tour buses in NYC were going to be lame, but we wound up buying a 3 day pass for like $20 more and basically using it as a Taxi surrogate. All in all they were pretty interesting too.
Red is Dead
Same, when i went. It was so much easier than using a taxi or even the subway. once you get on the big island, those were indispensable, especially when it started pissing it down. "other musicians" is why I'm a DIY hermit who writes, plays, and records everything. I want to make art. I don't want to chase adults down to do it.
