Death From Above Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I need a million dislikes for Jake Ireland.
elizium Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Oh yeah, sorry. That one probably stings for you. Damn good game though,
ebbie Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 However if Manziel cut a promo like that there would probably be some #whitetrash tweets as well. If a latin player said something like that I think there would be some racial hate as well. Controversial public figures bring out the stupid hateful people. Wait, there are Latin football players? I know there's that pussy Mark Sanchez, but wow. ¡Hola! Finding a Latin NFL player seems as rare as finding a credible mechanic, it seems.
Josh Mann Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Sherman at a Q&A this afternoon:"The only reason [the word 'thug'] bothers me is because it seems like it's the accepted way of calling somebody the N-word nowadays," Sherman said during a press conference on Wednesday. "It's like everyone else said the N-word and they said 'Thug' and they're like 'Ah, that's fine.' That's where it kind of takes me aback and it's kind of disappointing." I don't know if he's the first person to say that in front of a microphone, but it took balls to say it with the world watching. 10
E.J. Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So, Sherman was mic'd up during the Seahawks-Niners game. Here's what he said to Michael Crabtree that made Crabtree knock him in the face. Helluva game, helluva game
Charlie M. Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think it was more the slap on the ass that did it. I saw this on NFL Network and the FOX Deportes guy actually gets in and interviews Sherman before Erin Andrews. Where's the video of that? It looked hilarious.
hammerva Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 There is also a picture of Erin Andrews and Richard Sherman hugging all smiles and shit after the game. Unless it is a brillant photoshop job. So that throws away the media issue that Sherman 'scared" poor innocent princess on national TV. If Crabtree has a problem with guys slapping ass in football then he should have quit years ago because I doubt that was the first man on man ass slapping going on in that game. If we are going to call people "thugs" because of a jerk overreaction then Crabtree is a big time thug for slapping Sherman in the face during the game after a "good game" and talking shit during the off season
Ryan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The media issue with the Andrews thing was cleared up pretty much just by asking her, she made it quite clear what was going on and how she had no issues with it herself. She actually even blamed herself somewhat for how she reacted and such.
odessasteps Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Wasnt Tony Gonzalez always the poster boy for the "NFL Latino" campaign?
Death From Above Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Oh yeah, sorry. That one probably stings for you. Damn good game though, It's a classic, that one call will haunt me forever though. Otherwise it would be an all time favourite. I'm still not sure how Eddie Brown caught that ball.
Dewar Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 There is also a picture of Erin Andrews and Richard Sherman hugging all smiles and shit after the game. Unless it is a brillant photoshop job. If we are going to call people "thugs" because of a jerk overreaction then Crabtree is a big time thug for slapping Sherman in the face during the game after a "good game" and talking shit during the off season I think Crabtree's problem was with Sherman running him down to rub it in his face. The interception took place in the corner of the end zone, Crabtree's going back to his bench, and Sherman, instead of celebrating with his teammates, is chasing Crabtree down to rub his nose in it (they were close to the centre of the field when Crabtree shoved him in the face).
E.J. Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If Richard Sherman wanted to rub it in Crabtree;s face, he would have made it a lot more obvious. The game still had a couple of seconds left at that point I think. Seems like he tried to extend the olive branch. He wouldn't have had his hand out for a handshake otherwise.
Burgundy LaRue Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Sherman seems like the type of guy who will try to destroy you on the field and needs a few minutes to decompress after a game, but really doesn't carry those sentiments beyond that.
ebbie Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Wasnt Tony Gonzalez always the poster boy for the "NFL Latino" campaign? Sorry, forgot about him. Being on the Falcons might have something to do with it. If he is still playing. idk Reminds me of Manny Fernandez of the '72 Dolphins talking about how he got picked by Miami just because of his last name and didn't know the first thing about Cuban culture or how to speak Spanish. Oh, parity, never change.
Tabe Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That clip of Sherman confirms what I already knew - that he'd done nothing. At the same time, I don't blame Crabtree for his reaction. At that moment, in that spot, to him it undoubtedly felt like Sherman was mocking him. I don't think Sherman was - I think he legitimately was trying to be nice - but I can easily see Crabtree interpreting it that way. 1
Ryan Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Adrenaline(and whatever else either may or may not be on) really makes reactions to things hard to predict when it comes to people. Anyway. Charlie M. Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 The game will be officiated under Peyton rules so expect Seattle's defense to get called for a ton of penalties.
Niners Fan in CT Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 As I said before, there's definitely more to it.. because Sherman's tirade makes no sense without a backstory. If we just look at the play, it's Kaepernick's fault. He underthrew the ball. Really, he shouldn't have thrown it in the first place because it was first down and they had two timeouts left.. but it's arrogance in his arm where he feels like he can fit the ball in the smallest of windows. Hopefully he learns from this mistake. With Crabtree.. he really had no chance to make a play on the ball so the whole "I knew Crabtree couldn't beat me for a TD, blah etc." is just strange. He must have been pissed at Crab for others reasons beyond that single play.
glfpunk Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It's not strange at all. If Sherman wasn't there, it's a touchdown. Sure it was underthrown and ultimiately it's Kap's fault and not Crabree's at all but he didn't have a chance to make a play on the ball because Sherman was there. So there you go. 1
