Niners Fan in CT
I like the choices. It won't be as good as season 1 but it could be decent.
Elsalvajeloco
True Detective must be some sort of actor rehab. Might as well get Naomi Watts to play the lead female cop/investigator.
caley
Justin Lin is on board to direct the first two episodes of the eight-episode season. Lensing is set to begin later this fall in California for a January premiere. There’s still no word about additional cast members, which are expected to include a femme in the role of a police officer. » This is the scariest part of the TD news. Vaughn and Farrell both have some good performances, Kitsch has a weird charisma and the list of female actors they've auditioned are pretty darn good. But Justin Lin might be be a little too sleek of a directing style to suit TD. I'm hoping it's more of a callback to 'Better Luck Tomorrow' and less of a 'Fast and the Furious' vibe, cuz I liked Lin's FF movies, but they would be totally wrong in tone for TD
Reed
True Detective must be some sort of actor rehab. Might as well get Naomi Watts to play the lead female cop/investigator. They should have tried to get Adam Sandler.
Brian Fowler
I'd love to see Sandler do something serious again. As much as I hate nearly everything he's done in the last 15 years... Punch Drunk Love is a damn great movie.
BurningBeard
I'm scared the changing of director(s) is gonna fuck with the flow more than anything. Twitter was it's usual cesspit of self-entitlement vitriol at the casting news but I'm cool with it. I'm sure people would've moaned about Mcconaughey & Harrelson if they'd known/cared last year. With that said I think one of the reasons the first season worked so well was their natural chemistry and friendship soooo...

RonL21
Sandler's fine in movies in which he doesn't have a hand in the writing or production. Spanglish is probably my favorite Sandler movie.
misanthrope304
I started watching this last night and I'm on episode 5 now. Holy shit this is good, so fucking good. I want to read through this thread but I don't want to be spoiled

misanthrope304
Best 8 hours I've spent watching tv since Lonesome Dove....I don't think I can give a better compliment than that.
Technico Support
Did you binge watch any of it? I thought of it as the anti-binge show since every episode was so bleak I wanted to hang myself afterward -- no way could I watch more than one in a sitting.
misanthrope304
I watched it over the course of two nights, 5 ep's the first night, 1 the next day on my lunch break at work, and the final 2 last night when I got home. So when is season 2 supposed to start? Edited January 15, 2015 by misanthrope304

I didn't do that but my friend did. I wasn't sure if he was gonna make it.
misanthrope304
and Matthew McCo.....fuck anyway, he should get some sort of whatever award it is for doing a good job at being fake for a tv show. I thought it was awesome that he was cool as the other side of the pillow throughout the season (save a couple instances yelling @ Woody's screen wife for being c word, and smacking that one dude around in the interrogation scene) until the final shot when he actually broke down and showed emotion. Him talking about dying and the feelz...that was bad ass.
Craig H
That was one of the most unexpected touching moments I've ever seen. I think I said it earlier, but I feel like the show really was about love and relationships at its core.
BurningBeard
the episode with the motorcycle club and Rust going undercover is honestly the best hour of television I've ever watched
E.J.
Those couple of minutes going to steal the drugs from the projects is probably one of the most frightening moments I've seen on TV.

EVA
Super generic. Take away the title at the end, and I couldn't tell you if that was an ad for the new season of TRUE DETECTIVE or LOW WINTER SUN. (Remember LOW WINTER SUN?!?!?)

Jrag
Ehh. The teaser for season 1 didn't exactly light the world on fire either. I'm still HYPE! + Colin Farrell is and always will be fucking awesome.
Playa Shunna Ver 3.0
Colin Farrell is also rocking a grade A 'stache here. Guaranteed this is fucking awesome.
