Chaos
I saw an ad for Fox's Summer Binge as I was catching up on 24. Although, there is no press about it this year if you Google the subject. I hope they're sitll intending to do it this weekend. I want to blow through Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Tabe
Ranked in order of favorite cop tandems: 1) Briscoe/Logan 2) Briscoe/Curtis 3) Briscoe/Green 4) Logan/Greevy 5) Green/Fontana 6) Green/Lupo 7) Fontana/Falco 8) Bernard/Lupo 9) Logan/Ceretta Sounds about right. Yeah, don't think I'd argue with this either.
The Comedian
If you ban Tabe, we riot. My only knowledge of Hart to Hart was the Adam Scott special thing on Adult Swim that recreated the show opening. Hart To Hart was definitely on the low end of the 80's action-adventure spectrum, which could be viewed somewhat like this: THE GREATEST TV SHOW EVER MADE | The A-Team | Knight Rider | Airwolf | SImon & Simon | Hardcastle & McCormick | The Scarecrow & Mrs. King | Riptide | Hart To Hart Obviously not all-inclusive (and in particular I left out the harder-edged shows like Hunter or The Equalizer), but you get the picture... Ryan
The take-away from this whole thing is that you must watch the Hart to Hart recreation special that I mentioned.
piranesi
RIPTIDE > SIMON & SIMON. I am zealous on this. They had a floppy-haired nerd and a robot: Also, you can't put SCARECROW AND MRS. KING on there and not have REMINGTON STEELE. My God, what kind of a filthy, lying demon are you and why are you trying to corrupt this board? piranesi
How far are we stretching the definition of action adventure? Man. I remember being at soccer practice and just like fucking jonesing to get home in time to not miss this. I was heavy in the "Fuck BRING 'EM BACK ALIVE! I'm with TALES OF THE GOLD MONKEY!" camp. It was a brief war that divided the playground for about five weeks until the far superior show got moved and then canceled.

Burgundy LaRue
In no universe is Stone better than McCoy.He wasn't just better, he was worlds better. And I like McCoy - a lot. Rare is the day that I give credit to Tabe (where is my Hawaiian sand, bucko?). But he's right about Stone. McCoy, especially toward the end, was too blustery. Hamming it up, even, which I took to Sam Waterston playing the role a couple years too long. Moriarty was nuanced, like you felt Stone went home and lied awake if he lost a tough case. He was more tortured about his job, which led some credence to the show. McCoy sometimes looked he could forget things with a bottle of scotch and a call to an escort service. Plus, Moriarty was in THE STUFF. Bonus points for that.
brandonr4s
I'm sure I'm in the minority (and betraying my AV), but this season of Louie was disappointing. Just wasn't funny outside of the first two episodes. The avant-garde Woody Allen shtick is wearing thin.
Tabe
In the spirit of the cop partnership rankings, I give you sure-to-be-hated sidekick lawyer/ADA rankings: 1) Jamie Ross - super hot, solid character, and came back a couple times as a lawyer - and then a judge 2) Paul Robinette - seems like the most lawyerly of the entire bunch. Probably because he's a dude and not just eye candy. 3) Abbie Carmichael - another of the super-hot sidekicks. Exuded the most "toughness" of any of the female ADAs and also got to actually grill people on the stand 4) Claire Kincaid - Easily the most shocking exit from the show. Little did we know she was boffing ole McCoy. 5) Connie Rubirosa - Ho hum, just another scorching hot sidekick. Nothing wrong with her - a solid character, solid performer, and tied for the most episodes 6) Alexandra Borgia - I always thought she was a bad fit and was an obvious attempt to get a "less attractive" sidekick for McCoy. Her character just didn't seem solid and just not a great fit. 7) Serena Southerlyn - From the utterly baffling exit from the show, to her constant wimpiness, and non-lawyerly attire, Serena always seemed in over her head. Not a good character at all - and she got the most episodes of any sidekick.

Burgundy LaRue
It's funny to look back and realize the first ADA was a black man, and the last ADA was a Latina. Everyone in between was a variance of the attractive white woman. My ADA Rankings! 1. Robinette 2. Ross 3. Carmichael 4. Kincaid/Rubirosa (tie) 6. Borgia 7. Southerlyn Brooks and Lowell actually felt scholarly, like you could imagine them going to law school and busting perps. I think it was their voices. Both them sounded smart. I'm usually good with a character if I like the sound of their voice. Hennessey and Harmon were fine. Again, having decent voices helped. Kincaid was the classic idealist who needed to see more of the real world to be good at her job. Out of the ADAs, she was the one you'd figured would actually sleep with the boss. Carmichael felt like she would kick someone's ass at times. What I liked about Rubirosa is how she would silently roll her eyes when Cutter and McCoy were dick measuring. Her 'not this shit again' faces were on point. Was decent in the courtroom, too. Borgia is a tough one for me, because her persona seemed to be perfect for an ADA--smart, detailed, a good mix of sympathy for victims and respect for procedures, rarely ruffled her bosses' feathers. But she just didn't fit. It probably didn't help that she was on during some of Fontana's time, which was when I started checking out on L&O. Also, I had seen the actress play a BSC psycho on As the World Turns. She was good at it. So to see her as this prim lawyer was a bit of a shock. For me, her exit, while I figured was coming, played out much differently than I had imagined. That was some pretty grim stuff. Southerlyn was awful, and I would like to know who Elisabeth Rohm was boinking to keep her gig for so long.
Tabe
I thought the exit for Borgia was cheap. It just felt so cliche - seems like every TV show with a female cop or lawyer on it eventually goes to the "female gets kidnapped" storyline. Yeah, they flipped the script a little by bumping her off but it still felt really unoriginal. And I'm with you on Rohm - she was so miscast and out of place, she HAD to be sleeping with somebody to be around that long. Checking out her page on IMDB and I see she was in American Hustle. Had no idea - and I've seen the movie. She also has one of the best profile pics on there that I've seen recently.
Tabe
And now I learn that Jill Hennessy's twin sister - she has a twin?? - actually played Claire Kincaid in one episode of L&O. The things you learn...
Burgundy LaRue
What got me about Borgia's death was they went pretty dark with how it went down. The kidnapping part was a tried-and-true staple. Even the death itself wasn't that unusual. But to have her die in a car trunk and choking on her vomit was pretty rough.

Burgundy LaRue
You'll get no argument from me on that. Though L&O wins points on longevity and spinning off another show that proved to be just as popular as the original. The first five seasons of Homicide smokes a lot of shows, however. No shame in that.
Kuetsar
Never really like Carmichael at all, between her glaring and McCoy's preaching, I wanted every defendant to go free. Ross was pretty good, as was robbinette. Didn't mind Southerlyn that much, as she had a sense of fair play that the show lacked since the very early years. Didn't see any of the last few seasons to comment. . .
