Rush vs MJF has a wonderful dynamic to it and am looking forward to how they establish the benefits of Ospreay in DR with his rematch against Davis. 1

I am sure the fine was front pocket money to Tony Khan, but that's not really the point. The athletic inspector on site was obviously a wrestling fan and not a dick since he didn't just stop the entire show at the first sign of blood. This is why a lot of indies ran their blood shows on military bases and armories back in the day. Since the sites were federal property, you could get by the local and state athletic commission rules on blading if you have a doctor on site and an ambulance on call. Edited June 4 by J.T. 4

Curt McGirt Posted June 4 Posted June 4 This was a really good show! Spoiler - The crazy coach just throws out a world title match as the first bout on a random Dynamite. And they blade (super obviously at that) in a no-blade state? Alrighty then! Max works extra to bring out the hate, spitting three separate times right into RUSH's face, and wearing a matador outfit to the ring (sign in crowd: "MJF CALLS FOULS IN PICK-UP GAMES" haha). Of all people. He gets really super pissed and gets right to the ass whipping. They play the bladejob around a missing turnbuckle that has the ref breaking up the eventual impact several times for a nice tease. At some point Rush apparently dislocates his shoulder and pops it back in by himself, the ref tries to stop the match (I'm not sure how much of this was real or not so, kudos), Max torches his knee Tombstoning Rush on the ring barrier, he also eats a mean straightjacket piledriver himself, then finally makes Rush pass out from the pain with a modified crossface. Selling was really on point all through this and Rush stayed strong with refusing to tap and flipping off Max instead. Later on, Renee (wearing her best in bondage casual) creeps up on Max in the bathtub and they have to zoom in to make sure he's not nude, haha. - Briscoe match was a hoot. My favorite part was during the commercials when Lio bridges out of a pin and Mark karate chops him in the belly. No audio but you can just hear Mark go "HIIIIIIIIIIII YAH!!!" in your head. They really lean into the goofiness and it works; then, Mark busts out a super serious promo and just kills it. The biblical reference dips its big toe into a pretty deep pool that nobody else does. Thekla's promo is really good too, the bitch is unhinged. Her rant made me imagine AEW putting a disclaimer on the screen reading "The management of All Elite Wrestling does not condone or support the statements of (Thekla's real name)". DEATH TO STARDOM~! Meanwhile, Andrade's English is just the pits. Even the Japanese guys speak it better. That just seems weird from a guy who's worked in and right outside America for ages and even has a wife here (had? Did they divorce or am I thinking of someone else?). It would have been nice if he just kept picking up the jobber to do another finisher since he has so many. - We keep the hot streak going with Speedball/Knight! Kevin knowing all of Bailey's moves and dodging them is great. He still eats some pretty gnarly kicks. This reminds me of Sabu vs. RVD for some reason; I need to rewatch those matches. The stretcher match was awesome. At one point they're going for SOMEthing off the top and Speedball seems to powerbomb or choke-slam himself from eight feet in the air as if the Invisible Man is a secret third opponent in the match. It is beyond weird and totally spine-crushing. Also, Andrade shakes his head at and doesn't dap up with Kevin and doesn't return after the match with Callis and Jake, thus planting the seeds for a feud between them later, perhaps? - Guess what? Sasha's back. And really, I didn't hate it. It feels weird to say this but I think I kind of hate her for kayfabe reasons and now that she's losing all those titles I feel like it's a little humbling and I can accept her a bit more. This match with Windsor however just feels a beat or two too slow, like they're wrestling at half speed sometimes. Mone definitely got her makeup correct because she looks practically airbrushed, and she gets to bust out the boo-boo face so you can get a good look at it. Also she's wearing chains all over and has to bump on them... ouch. Three guesses as to who wins! - Main event is entertainingly stupid. Davis tries to hold it together by avoiding all of Will's offense. The run-in lineup where everyone takes a finisher... I just don't know. Why? It does stretch the match out. Of course we don't get a second referee until they do all this shit which is just ridiculous, maybe as ridiculous as Ospreay kicking out of that insta-piledriver where he pins completely vertical in the air with his head between Davis' thighs. And then he wins with the armbar that he's only tried to set up once the entire match with almost no attacks directed towards the arm! Oh Will, why would we expect any less. Again, entertainingly stupid. 2

I never watched Terminator: Dark Fate and couldn't remember anything else.
