🎼  Mirror, mirror on the wall, don't say it 'cause I know I'm cute. Louis down to my drawers, LV all on my shoes...

Darby took his curse of an Unbreakable Neck to Brody King, who tried his damnedest but just couldn't get the job done...

(... well, to be fair, he got the job done, just a different one.)

🎵 I be drippin' so much sauce, sotta been looking like Ragu. Lit up like a crystal ball, that's cool, baby, so is you... That's how I roll!

I know more than a couple of people paused on this frame for a little too long

🥤If I'm shinin', everybody gonna shine. I was born like this, don't even gotta try. I'm like chardonnay, get better over time. Heard you say I'm not the baddest, bitch, you lie!

This week... Darby takes on everyone again!

Saturday they run a TopGolf!

Enjoy the week!

Between Reigns and Knight, it’s too easy, feels like cheating.

I completely ignored the main haha

- Really hope that Big Ted had followed at least some of AEW in his last years. He would have been proud.

- Mox/Juicey Boy was fun. Sometimes I wish refs would just separate people working the fingers because joint locks are illegal, and point that out to everybody. Guess Mox's cheek got opened up by one of Juice's left hands which is funny and actually a point of psychology for him getting pissed about that and deciding to work on the finger.

- Our own Brynn got aired from Tweeting about Big Ted!

Spoiler

Image

Ain't that cool as hell?

- There are a couple things I want to mention about the commercials tonight. 1. A Ghiardelli S'more would be absolutely incredible. 2. Brendan Fraser is playing Ike Eisenhower? That's... odd. 3. Cinnamon Toast Cannibals more like haha

- Mr. Brandon Bones on here said on the Discord that Christian "has a face that screams "I got divorced"" and we laughed and laughed. Orange vs. FTR Bald was perfect ga-ga formed into match shape. The whole thing was almost total bullshit and you wouldn't think it until you look back upon it. Then they even did an extreme closeup into the DIVORCE FACE and I lost it again! Plus, him having "ASSHOLE" on his tron is a hoot.

- The Okada/Keith match was surprisingly stiff and pretty good but Keith couldn't get any traction beyond polite applause with the fans. It sucks. Maybe a top run in ROH would give him something to do. He also needs to do something -- anything -- with that hair of his. The braid is even off-center...

- Team Bouncy™ had a fine match with Shida and Stat, in fact probably the finest match I've seen Shida in unless there's some miracle of a title match out there. Stunning how talented Harley is for only having worked 100 matches. Mina took a kick to the face that was fucking orbital-bone-crushing. As far as that opening promo from her and Mina goes, the midnight chokers have that running in slo-mo and all kinds of gif'd up for their perusal by now, I imagine.

- There were tributes to both Sabu and RVD in the main and damn were they insane. HELL of a match here, no quarter given, no handshakes and no brakes on the car. Max walks off instead of choosing a hair match, haha. We have Okada set up for next week and then PAC after? Hmmm, wonder how all this is gonna wash out.

- Far as the next hour goes, Speedball kicked a kid's hand instead of slapping it, and Skye and Jamie beat the absolute SHIT out of each other like they owed each other money or fucked each other's partners. That was just rough

Nice opening tribute to Ted Turner, Sting was there, DAMNIT I LIVE 90 MINUTES AWAY I COULD'VE BEEN THERE *lolsob*

Moxley vs Juice was there, not a bad brawl, but not sure where they're going with Mox - the Continental title's only for the year, correct?

Orange Cassidy vs the dude from FTR didn't really grab my attention. The insta-brawl afterwards was fun, Rocky Romero is a good sport to eat all the shit he does.

Death Riders are not beating the BDSM dungeon rumors. PAC ends with, "Ooh raht dat's enoof" and I can't stop laughing.

I cannot take Harley seriously at all with that hair. What the fuck? Better match from Shida than last week, tho.

Okada's match was there, not sure why we had heel vs heel (and the crowd completely didn't buy it, either).

Main event was incredible. Kevin Knight is certifiably insane for that table spot. Good storytelling with his knee still being sore from last week and getting worse this week. Darby Allin proves he can actually wrestle.

MJF comes out and calls Darby a troll, so he got massively trolled. I love it. I love the psychology between these two. This will definitely end at Double or Nothing with MJF winning, but it's going to be so enjoyable to watch him squirm the whole time.

I'll catch up on Collision later, gotta get Mom ready for a doctor's appointment (just a normal checkup) this morning.

Regrets suck, you missing Sting. I dwell on things so much. I drive myself mad.

Best wishes to you and your Mum xxx.

Also gonna note that North Charleston is in the same general area as the congressional district where Ted Turner’s son ran for office in 2013 (losing in a special election that brought Mark Sanford back from oblivion). So they were coincidentally in a place with multiple connections to Ted Turner

The reigning Continental champion has to put the title on the line in the annual Classic, yes. If I'm remembering correctly, Eddie Kingston won the title in the inaugural tournament, then lost it to Okada in a normal match. Then Okada won the second Classic to retain the title, and held it for another full year before losing it to Mox in the third Classic.

As for where they're going with Mox - I suspect Ospreay training with the Death Riders eventually leads to Ospreay using what he's learned to finally beat Mox. Possibly breaking the character's neck, leaving Mox (the performer) taking some much-deserved time off.

Not sure what the timing would be, though. The only PPV between Double or Nothing and All In is Forbidden Door, whose format makes it tricky to blow off or even advance AEW-only storylines. Would they do Ospreay over Mox at All In? I've been assuming for a while they'll probably want to put the world title on Ospreay at that event.

They actually had me believing a member of FTR was going to win a singles match against somebody other than his partner! So they must have done something right.

(Though that joke appears to be outdated, based on a quick Google search. Seems Harwood won three singles matches in 2025, none against Cash Wheeler. Oh well.)

I'm not so sure. MJF regaining the title would work fine, but I sort of think we might get Hangman returning when MJF tries to cheat, leading to a Darby victory. That would admittedly work better if MJF were putting up his right to ever challenge for the world title again, but then, it's not 100% clear to me that we're actually getting the hair stipulation. Negotiations are still ongoing; MJF might come back with a counter-suggestion next week.

So are we sure this is true or not? I'm not comfortable asking her/them, or even posting it on the Discord. They have their own Discord too that I'm on.

From the Discord last night --

First, AxB posts a Tweet reading that Ospreay "being beneath YUTA in the death riders hierarchy is insane actually. they might as well have shown him drinking out of a dog bowl"

Death from Above: "We've already had human furniture and now we're talking about humiliation kinks"

Me: "We got dogplay off the books too

Or is that just a humiliation kink"

Oh and I also posted after the Tweet, "BARK WILL BARK" haha

We have fun.

There’s a new July ppv called Redemption. Expected to be in Montreal.

I think it's a fair concern to be raised and it's more than just that one post if you go through.

Either way, if I'm Brynn, I'm asking for the "Fictional Since 2022" subtitle.

I've got to ask: Does someone have it out for Statlander? She has been the most horribly-booked over wrestler on the show in a while. This whole sad Stat who doesn't talk much, gets somehow roped into being Shida's partner after turning down being Harley's partner, CONTINUES to tag with Shida after Shida keeps threatening to turn on her is just kinda dippy. It makes Statlander seem like a dumbass (she keeps tagging with Shida despite her: sneaking up at her with the kendo stick, tagging herself in to win, suplexing her that one time) who can't speak for herself (There's been a promo or two when Mina and Harley confront her and Shida and she stands there looking annoyed but doesn't actually say anything). I think she's popular enough and would work better as a face (More heels to take on: Divine Dominion, Triangle of Terror) but I also think it'd be more fun of they turned her full-on heel and really committed to it. She'd actually be amazing allying herself with Thekla (they could kick Skye Blue out of the group (I think she'd more way  more over as a face again to keep it a Triangle) who acts as Thekla's heater, only to turn face again down the line when she tires of Thekla's shit-talk. But this whole thing she's been doing since she dropped the title is not working at all.

I say this with all due respect to someone who seems like a fine person, but is Mina Shirakawa the worst dancing wrestler to have a dancing gimmick/into since, what, Fandango?!

I was expecting the Juice Robinson loss to lead to the return of Jay White but...no?!

Knight-Darby was all kinds of crazy.

Line of the night had to be Joe getting after Shibata for trying to correct the cameraman: "Let the man do his job. Besides, he's union, they get weird."

I really enjoyed the callback with Orange and Trent.

Speaking of which, wrestling cannon-wise, does The Paragon still exist? For that matter, does the Undisputed Kingdom? Are Kyle and Roddy (technically) in three stables or factions concurrently?

Also, calling it now - Jericho's team will be Hurt Syndicate & The New Day.
