Dolfan in NYC Posted March 31 Posted March 31 People are talking, talkin' 'bout people... I hear them whisper you won't believe it, they think we're lovers kept under cover. I'll just ignore it, but they keep sayin' we... Last week! For whatever reason, Kenny Omega is YOUR #1 contender for for the AEW Championship: Well, MJF better get his cardio up. That's gonna be a long match. Laugh just a little too loud... Stand just a little too close... We stare just a little too long... Maybe they're seeing something we don't darling? And after their loss, it looks like that's a wrap on the Babes of Wrath: Let's give 'em something to talk about! Let's give 'em something to talk about! Let's give 'em something to talk about! How about love... On tap this week... Remember, Collision is Thursday! (Thanks to the #1 Juggalo, Vince Russo, for this week's thread!) Enjoy the week! 2
Dolfan in NYC Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Meltzer (and several others) are going nuts today. They're either falling for an elaborate ruse, or... this may happen tonight: Spoiler You're sure, you want to know? 2 Levels Of Spoilers? Just making sure.... Go ahead and stick your arms out. HarryArchieGus Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Quote * Mina Shirakawa & The Brawling Birds vs. Triangle of Madness * Will Ospreay vs. PAC * Kenny Omega, Brody King & Jack Perry vs. The Demand * Kenny Omega and MJF sign contract for their match at AEW Dynasty. Excellent card for Winnipeg. I like Mina running with the Birds. Hoping the Sisters can step it up. Kinda excited to see how Toa and Brody work with one another. That could be a fun mini feud. Also curious to see Ric and Kenny square off. Hoping Kenny tries for less witty and more serious with Jake Friedman. Ospreay v Pac will no doubt be rocking! I’m all for ‘the Spoiler’. I also suspect we’ll see Ms. Mone’s return. Awesome looking show as per usual. However the week is going, so thankful for the consistently fun mid-week aew tv. Extra appreciation for Thursday collisions.
Casey Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Looks like Jericho coming back killed a lot of people’s interest in the show, huh? lol also someone returned on Collision. Double spoiler tags. Spoiler Spoiler Hikaru Shida 2
Yo-Yo's Roomie Posted April 2 Posted April 2 It just wasn't a very interesting show. One match in the first hour is pretty unforgivable, especially since that match was pretty crap. Highlight of the show was Excalibur saying something about the mystery of 'who killed Toni Storm', and Nigel going 'she's not dead'. 1
SovietShooter Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Yeah, ho-hum Dynamite. Too much nin wrestling stuff, but with the number of matches announced, Collision looks like it will be all action. MJF vs Bailey was pretty solid. Nothing else really did it for me. Folks saying the Jericho return bombed are projecting their own feelings. The reaction was just fine, the crowd just didn't appear to be mixed well, which isn't unusual for AEW. It wasn't a "Sandman returning to the ECW Arena" level of pop, but it was as good of a reaction as can be expected. 5
DreamBroken Posted April 2 Posted April 2 As one of the few who still always enjoys Jericho, I popped for the return, especially bringing Judas back. Glad to see him back after a year long absence and all the wwe rumors and look forward to who he mixes it up with first. Ospreay/Pac was pretty great and MJF/Speedball ruled, love having Speedball in the main event mix. 4

Yeah, there were alot of audio issues at the start so I don't think the live audience was cold for Jericho. I'm thankful they did it at the start of the broadcast so we could just move forward from there. 1

Highlight of the show was Excalibur saying something about the mystery of 'who killed Toni Storm', and Nigel going 'she's not dead'. The highlight of the show, huh? Unforgivable? That's a little melodramatic, no? It's a TV show building to a PPV. A big return (whether you like Jericho or not) off the top and a promo segment for said PPV main event seem completely fair. I'd also argue that one Trios match was pretty terrific. Ricochet and Kenny in particular were poetry in motion. I thought this show was fun throughout. Pac-Ospreay and Bailey-MJF being two of my highlights of the show. I loved Pac in that match. Did not love seeing Ospreay land on his neck from that clothesline - brutal! Pac's overhead throw from the top on Ospreay during the break was also insane - ridiculous to not replay that spot. Not even after the match. I also loved that excellent Moxley promo post match. The brutal set of piledrivers and the cocky finish in the MJF-Speedball bout was fanfuckingtastic. The Birds/Mina-Triangle was solid. I also loved the hilarity/awesomeness of Christian nearly walloping Renee with the chair. The Darby talk segment was slightly awkward, but I'm very much looking forward to Andrade-Darby. Not the strongest Collision line up, but I have my eye on Juice-Ciampa. Edited April 2 by HarryArchieGus 1
The Natural Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I was surprised how dead the topic was this morning with Chris Jericho's return.

The Natural Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) Well done, Winnipeg. Chris Jericho will be pissed though. Edited April 2 by The Natural 1 1

Best of luck to him, but this is pretty juiceless in 2026.
caley Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I thought the Learning Tree gimmick with Jericho as a clueless vet taking time away from the kids while "mentoring" young wrestlers had some legs to it, but he/AEW played it up all wrong. Jericho was too knowing in the role ("Gotta get my spots in, right?" [chuckles]) when he would've been much funnier using Gen-Z slang wrong ("I'm gonna rizz Kenny Omega up!" "Uh, boss I don't think that's what you mean to say!"), wearing old-style tights and getting made fun of for it, give him a 20-something girlfriend, have him get blown up in a Iron Man match. Then you could have his students turn on him, bring him back later a surprise face to put his students takeover down. But I don't think he wanted to look out of touch or dorky enough. I guess he could just "play the hits" and get cheered for doing his old Jericho routine but I'm not sure how long AEW fans will put up with it. Then again, some fans were still cheering MJF last night so wrestling fans ARE also very stupid. 2

caley Posted April 2 Posted April 2 -Also, that opening Kenny-MJF was promo was pretty hilarious: "Here's the bombshell you're not telling everyone..." Oh, I wonder if Kenny is retiring, maybe he's told his family this is hast last year! "Your intestine is a ticking time bomb." Oh, okay that's not really a bombshell. "Yeah, well I talked to your doctor..." Oh, is MJF battling through an injury too?! "and you have no dick" [well more or less!] Ah! -I enjoyed the 6-man. Ricochet was lots of fun in that. -I understand the story and the idea, but I don't really buy Will Ospreay as blood feud killer guy. Neither his personality nor his moveset really suit angry killer. -It was weird how guys who had nothing to do with Darby or the Callis Family came out to help Darby against the latter, but NO one came to help Ospreay from nearly getting crippled by the Death Riders. Even guys he teamed with! -Thekla is so much fun. I liked when she walked around the ring going "Huh! Huh! Huh!" like Mankind then yelling "Kiss my toxic ass" like Mankind, thankfully, never ever did. -I miss Tazz 4
JLowe Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I was trying to work while watching, and eventually gave up before the halfway mark. The first 20 minutes or so felt very Crash TV and I hated it. I couldn’t really pay attention to the matches which is why I gave up. I’ll give Jericho a chance, but it’s a short leash. 1

Even guys he teamed with! Presumably the babyface locker room has been confused since Moxley sort of turned face at World's End. They're no longer sure how they're supposed to react to the Death Riders. 1 2
The Green Meanie Posted April 3 Posted April 3 I hate Suckup Speedball. It's not a good look for him at all. "In our way" Christian is my second favorite Christian right after "Your father is dead" Christian. 1
