Dolfan in NYC Posted March 25 Posted March 25 When we grew up and went to school there were certain teachers who would hurt the children in any way they could (Oof!) By pouring their derision upon anything we did exposing every weakness. However carefully hidden by the kid but in the town it was well known when they got home at night... Their fat and psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their lives! We got our first match for Dynasty! We don't need no education... We don't need no thought control... No dark sarcasm in the classroom. Teacher, leave them kids alone. Meanwhile no one will say why Toni Storm is suddenly done for the year... (she's pregnant). So Thekla can spin her evil web all over AEW! But will Toni's friend (?) Mina Shirakawa call the exterminator? Hey, teacher, leave them kids alone! All in all, it's just another brick in the wall... All in all, you're just another brick in the wall. On tap for this week! Lots and LOTS of stuff... Hot take, Swerve should, under no circumstances, lose to Kenny Omega. (Hot take 2... ABitW 2 is iconic... And it's maybe the 10th best song on The Wall. ) Enjoy the week! 2 1

stuntmanc Posted March 25 Posted March 25 As much as I don't really want the E and C retirement title run, id rather have them win at Dynasty and get it out of the way. 1

Wheeler looks like it's the morning after and he's doing his best to hold back a rough case of the beer shits. Also, I really miss AEW's original match graphics with the wrestlers all facing each other like a Mortal Kombat loading screen. Thought the Revolution 2026 graphics, with everyone looking away from the camera, were fun. Edited March 25 by Technico Support 3

Technico Support Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Oh yeah, AEW stealing Cyberpunk's font for Revolution was certainly some kind of choice. 1

The Natural Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Looking forward to Swerve Strickland vs. Kenny Omega II tonight. Their first match is one of the best matches this year. Gave it the full *****. 3

The tag team titles being in some limbo because of their injuries did give us Brodido, but otherwise it’s been in a holding pattern where the only actual feud is yet another Bucks/FTR. They win, they get a short feel good run and a huge retirement match, and then freshen up the division please (with some teams that aren’t Temu young bucks) 2
JLowe Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Trying to think of a band I can’t stand more than Pink Floyd, and drawing a blank. Like even Tool and The Dead and The Doors have a listenable song or two. The EVP thing is a not even stealthy authority figure angle, aka the worst fucking thing in wrestling for 3 decades going. On a positive note, the three singles matches should be excellent. Darby continues to find opponents to beat the living shot out of him. 1 2

A short lived put together team like that really worked and it's what the division really needed. 3

Cobra Commander Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) Things I Remember from this week's edition of Dynamite: Kenny beats Swerve to win the title shot Speedball beats Rocky Romero Moxley is a heel again and will be facing Ospreay at the PPV There's a bit of a talkfest for the first 20 minutes or so of the second hour Various people are aspiring to face MJF The Dogs win a match Thekla beats Mina There's a no countout stip for Darby/Rush for some reason. Darby wins, then gets beat down by the DCF as MJF is paying some of them The fans chanted "Fuck ICE" during the main event since Brody wasn't coming out there tonight Edited March 26 by Cobra Commander 1
Peck Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Love having Taz back in the booth. Laughed out loud when he said the Death Riders' celebration dance was weird. 5
username Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Watching that main event and reading that was Rush's first Dynamite singles match since June of 2024... like if you are willing to roll the dice on doing stuff with Andrade then you might as well take a chance on Rush as well. 3
Casey Posted March 26 Posted March 26 It's too bad Mariah May left because this mystery attacker of Toni Storm angle is perfect for a reintroduction for her. I know it'll probably be revealed to be Mina - while she's a fighting babyface World champion maybe - but still. Part of me does hope it ends up being Jamie Hayter because they really just handwaived away Toni's participation in injuring Jamie so this would be a nice form of revenge for Jamie. Too bad she's stuck in the tag team division, where they're more focused on just two teams - and one of them is the TBS champion, and that belt is being neglected because of all this. I do wonder where Swerve goes from here. Feels like a lot of fun stories could have come out of him being the sole EVP, especially after all he and Ospreay went through last year to strip the Bucks of their status. It really just feels like a waste, because I'm not positive Omega wins at Dynasty so we're sacrificing months of potential stories just for a few weeks build for a match Omega (likely) won't win. I'd probably go with Omega losing, Ospreay losing, and then they meet in the Owen Cup finals with Ospreay winning and dethroning MJF at Wembley. 2 minutes ago, username said: Watching that main event and reading that was Rush's first Dynamite singles match since June of 2024... like if you are willing to roll the dice on doing stuff with Andrade then you might as well take a chance on Rush as well. Rush (and Dralistico) were both out injured since, like, the Fall of last year. I believe both of them literally just got cleared within the last few weeks. 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 26 Posted March 26 oh yeah, also a pretty solid promo from FTR Hair/Gun in the FTR/TTOEAC part of the show

Yeah, Rush had to vacate his ROH tag title with Sammy Guevara (who had just previously had the tag title he was holding vacated due to injury as well by Dustin Rhodes). 1

They've got teams to revitalize things. This is why I can kinda understand no Brody on TV tonight, though I think he should have had a squash. They're pushing him back down into the tag division, and while I love Brody- he is not a main eventer in AEW with the generational talent he has- not everyone should be at the top. I do think some AEW fandom is being a bit unrealistic in expecting AEW to be totally leftist, and that hurt perception of the show tonight (there was also a TERF wizard franchise synergy thing during a break that got booed which really pissed off the online fanbase- many of whom are LGBTQ- I don't blame AEW for this as it's part of their network deal and they've had to do this before) Swerve-Omega and Mina-Thekla were great, I love the Dogs got a win too. I could have lived with Swerve winning- Swerve as a tyrant could have been a big bad storyline that would have worked, if they made Swerve more like Mil Muertes as LU champion type of EVP. Omega winning, beating MJF, and being a transitional champ to someone like Fletcher or Andrade to me is the right call (please no Darby) 1
JLSigman Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I tapped out during the Orange Strong vs Dogs match. they really should've broken up the multiple talking segments with a match, instead of having them go on and on. Sounds like I need to go back and watch the Darby/Rush match. 2

Brody is awesome and Buddy is more bland than a bag of white rice. Brody deserves better than to be once again shackled with roided up Temu Kenny Omega. Edited March 26 by Technico Support 1 4
