Cobra Commander Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Willson Contreras on the verge of kicking his brother's ass (William is the catcher on the Brewers)

"It's nothing new." Quote "I mean, we've been through that. It's been like nine years for me. It seems like every year," Woodruff said. "He's trying to play a game, and he's trying to get his side fired up, which is fine. Once I knew what was going on, I wasn't going to let it affect me."

He was then waived. 3) The Marlins have won two World Series in his lifetime. 4) I personally believe, if a team keeps selling out when they're putting out... the product... the Rockies are putting out, then they will never, ever improve. So, you know, enjoy your time in Denver. Hope you actually get to stay in the majors this time.

It BARELY grazed the protective guard he wears - it didn't even actually hit Contreras himself. I get being upset because one guy has hit you 6 times but you're diving into pitches and then barking because you get hit by something barely off the plate. C'mon.

RIPPA Posted April 7 Posted April 7 So early returns are that the Tony Vitello hiring for the Giants aren't great Especially when Vitello himself randomly decided to tell the media that the team has already had three locker room incidents this season https://www.sfgate.com/giants/article/giants-tony-vitello-incidents-22193831.php
Raziel Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Insert me grumbling here how fucking awful the ESPN app interface is for MLB, especially compaired to MLB.tv. 3/4th of the games currently playing aren't visible in the ESPN app, including the Yankees game tonight. I know they're playing the A's, but fuck.
Cobra Commander Posted April 8 Posted April 8 (edited) got a fight between Jorge Soler and Reynaldo Lopez in a Braves/Angels game Edited April 8 by Cobra Commander
Dolfan in NYC Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 There's an angle where you can clearly see Lopez landing a punch with a weapon (a baseball) in his hand. So, he's probably getting a much more severe penalty than normal.
Travis Sheldon Posted April 8 Posted April 8 The fact that this is yet another video of a brawl where no player uses a knuckleball claw on another player leaves me thinking this is fake.
Dolfan in NYC Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 The Dodgers have announced the passing of Davey Lopes. He was 80.
RIPPA Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Both Soler and Lopez got 7 game suspensions They were also both fined unspecified amounts EDIT - Lopez appealed and negotiated with MLB and his suspension is now 5 games

I know they're playing the A's, but fuck. Ah, you're late to the joys of the ESPN app. I got this experience when they took over the NHL. So now we get: - the home screen constantly moving things so "leagues" is never in the same place - NHL never being in the same spot for leagues - only being able to see about 2 days of games so no watching old games - highlights on the front page that give away scores of games when you have scores turned off - not being able to easily fast forward past intermission with a single button press - for over a year, the audio was out of sync - if you start from the beginning on a game already in progress, when the game ends IRL, you are no longer able to fast forward unless you start over with the game as "on demand" - if you do start over in the scenario, it doesn't remember where you were, so you have to fast forward to the right spot - on demand doesn't let you fast forward ads but live does And on and on and on and on. The old NHL app, which was run by MLB, was so much better.
Cobra Commander Posted April 8 Posted April 8 the "what was Lopez supposed to do, not throw a punch while holding a baseball" thing is approaching the dumbness of the "Carlos Gomez didn't touch home plate after Brian McCann blocked his way" thing from 2013 it's not like the guy on 2nd base was gonna try scoring during the fight
Tabe Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Man, Walt Weiss has sure aged into that straight out of central casting "grizzled, potbellied white baseball lifer".
