Enjoyed the opening with Drew & Jacob going at it.

Priest/Truth vs. Tama/Cobb was solid. Hopefully Priest & Truth as champs can help the tag division a bit.

Fraxiom vs. MCMGs was damn good. Candice interfering to help MCMGs was an interesting choice. Kind of hope the guns turn. Feels like they would do better as a heel team at this point, especially if they can play to Gargano's goofiness.

Orton's reasons for turning on Cody were nothing surprising, but they worked well. Its just amusing since the crowd is absolutely not turning on Orton as he was cheered at nearly every big point in his speech.

Sami/Black was pretty solid though its a shame to see Sami damaged so bad the audience is gradually turning on him. I assume he turns, but I kind of hope they pivot as heel Sami does not interest me at all.

Jade and Rhea's segment was alright until the semi-random turn by Mia & B-Fab. I think the latter two will work better as heels, but I do hope there is a sensible explanation for why they sided with Jade after feuding with her for months.

Hayes/Dragunov finally went down again and was a damn fine match like you would expect. Curious where things go from here as it does feel like its time for Ilja to move on.

Skipped around a decent chunk of Jelly Roll/Kit segment since I have little interest in Jelly Roll, but I did enjoy the slam poetry nonsense. Kind of surprised they aren't saving the actual match for Wrestlemania.

Bellas vs. Lash/Nia had some off pacing with the both Bellas showing some rust, but they did seem to get into some decent swing of things by the end. The match ended similar to last week's with Charlotte this time costing the Bellas their title shot and a post match bawl that saw the Irresistible Forces come out on top on everyone rather quickly.

Final segments were Orton destroying Matt Cardona's arm for some backstage argument and Jacob/Drew brawling outside leading to both falling off some stage setup. Neither were especially interesting to me though the crowd enjoyed it.

We only got five matches tonight, but 4 of were at least solid. Hayes/Ilja was excellent and MOTN, but I think Sami/Black & Fraxiom/MCMGs are both worth catching as well. Story wise was a bit of mixed bag for me personally, but it as good to see Wresltemania builds coming along at decent pace for the 4 weeks we still have left. Solid show despite being too long as usual.

Actually caught some of this last night.

R-Truth probably hasn't won a match in years and go figure, the one he does finally win grabs him a title belt. And to think he was fired this time last year about, wasn't it?

Jelly Roll looks like an emaciated homeless person now. Good for him!

Hayes/Dragunov was just fine. I don't think it hit that second or third gear but it wasn't meant to. Unfortunately, it also felt like his Wrestlemania opportunity against Gunther circling the drain.

The sign saying "09 ORTON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT" right above Randy as he was being held back in the ring was priceless.

That Booker T segment was really good. He annoys the fuck out of me on commentary, but as a worker he used to be one of my faves. Trick and Stephanie talking about him being an important part of their getting over, and Roxanne et al. lauding him as a mentor, reminded me how much I loved him in WCW and early aughts WWE, and how much fun I had at the couple of ROW shows I saw before I left Houston in 08.

Regal sounds rough. Not Jeff Bridges rough, but his voice is much scratchier than it was even just a couple years ago when he did a couple hallway segments with Charlie and NQCC, and the music is gone from it. One day, that will happen to all of us.

Not much else to say; glad Wren and Tatum won, but SAD this year still isn't exciting. (Didn't see Raw or SD, which is increasingly frequent)

40 security guards/agents/Aldis hit the ring to "protect" Cardona from Orton but not a single one of them thought to, ya know, REMOVE HIS ARM FROM THE CHAIR?!?!

"THIS time we trust ya, Randy. We know you won't do anything."

God I hate shit like that.

I thought Jelly Roll was really good in the backstage talking seg with Orton.  Did pretty well later on in the segment with Kit Wilson too, selling the attack and fired up to challenge next week.

Is Cardona really okay with how he got buried by Orton on SmackDown and looked like a total imbecile? He was literally on Chris Van Vliet's show talking about how detrimental the Kane beating was to his career. It only took a few months for WWE to do this to him again.

Cardona might be okay with just saying I'm a WWE Superstar and being on the same roster as his wife. But that only goes so far. WWE cuts people they are still using on TV now if TKO thinks they are getting paid too much.

They only told Truth they were winning the titles. Not Priest.

You know if you had told me watching 2018 ROH that one of them would have a world title runs and be a steady upper-card wrestler for WWE, it probably would have taken me a long time to get to Punishment Martinez. I thought he had a good look and potential, but not much more than that. Good for him, though!

Cardona might've just been like, "well if it's working hard on the indies or eating shit for a living on national TV, I'd rather just eat shit for a living on national TV".

Cardona really did about all one could reasonably ask in his last extended indie run, I think deciding it was time to move on (especially given the overall health of the indie scene) was probably the correct move. That said if AEW was at any point interested that would have been the place to go if he was concerned about not looking like a goober, like it'd still be a risk as he's simply got a lot of goober in him but this just seems to be his WWE use case.

Some People in Stamford are prob always going to look at him as “the guy who collects wrestling toys.”
