I can't just use the same joke you guys made... can I? CAN I??? .... Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who, who, who? Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who, who, who? Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who, who, who? Who let the dogs out? Last week! Looks like Tony went to the pound... because he's got a new Dog (Actually wait... there's no ethical billionaire. So he definitely went to a breeder.) Well, the party was nice, the party was pumpin'... Heya, yippie yi yo and everybody havin' a ball... Huh, huh, yippie yi yo... Well, it's time for a Revolution! But first.... PLUS... Big Boom AJ gets his opponent! Hopefully it's a large dog! I hear he can get them for $1.50! (Seriously though, Costco hot dogs are the best. You'll know the economy has crashed when they finally raise the price.) Enjoy the week! 1 3
HarryArchieGus Posted March 11 Posted March 11 These near full lineups each week are so appreciated. It feels like a good example of this promotion taking seriously sensible feedback. Hanger-MJF are 2 for 2, so watch out for this one - could go either way. OC/Darby-Kidd/Connors was pretty fun. I don't mind swapping in Finlay for a second round. Fletcher-Bailey is sure to be insanity. Can they make sense of their madness for the thumbs up? Persephone looked improved on the ROH show. I like the chances of she and Willow surprising a few viewers. I need to keep my expectations in check for Ciampa/FTR-Bucks/Briscoe. I don't think Mark Briscoe and FTR have faced one another since the classic tag series. Awesome! Mox/Claudio-Takeshita/Hechicero is a 'main event in any arena around the world'. Stoked for this show. 2
Cobra Commander Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) Things I Remember From This Week's Edition of AEW Dynamite: Ian gets to be on TV! Takeshita doesn't want to beat up on Moxley like that That reverse rana onto the apron in Speedball/Fletcher That belt shot barely touched Bailey's palms, much less his head The contrast between Takeshita not wanting to win like that and Okada cheating Dave Meltzer escaped from his messy office The guy who jobbed to Brody was paid in cigarettes Swerve and Brody getting into it Roddy decided to not turn heel Impressive to get Willow up for a little bit in that move before the finish Main event looked fun Ending the show with that press conference was sort of a weird energy until they hit the ring. MJF is retaining. Edited March 12 by Cobra Commander 2
MKERyan Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Don't love both Willow and Lena Kross working double duty at the PPV when there are so many women seemingly getting left off the card, but I understand the story they are telling with Willow overextending herself. Hopefully it's the tag straps that get dropped and we get Hayter, Windsor, Bayne, and Kross beating the piss out of each other every week. 7
tbarrie Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The first fifteen minutes of Speedball vs Fletcher was really fucking good. Then at the end they really overdid it with the kick-outs, but I guess one can only complain about that so many times. 1
Phantom Lord Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I only saw some of the show tonight. Fletcher vs. Speedball was really good. I didn't mind the flash pins at the end. I like how Fletcher has to cheat to win. The press conference seemed like something they should have taped earlier in the day and thrown it up on youtube. The brawl at the end did save it though. 1

The portion of the match that was designed to showcase Bailey was excellent. Then it became just like every other Kyle Fletcher match, which is a shame really.
Yo-Yo's Roomie Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I wish Tony would stop trying to make Gabe Kidd a thing. He's dogshit. I did enjoy the Roddy return though, even though I think they could have done more to build to it as a feelgood moment. Elsewhere, the opening tag was fantastic, but otherwise I felt the show was missing the usual variety. It all just felt a bit samey. 3

I just don't get the whole "OH I'M A CRAZY DUDE" thing he does. 2

DreamBroken Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Speedball/Fletcher was amazing, great chemistry. Lots of believable near falls. Loved their previous Continental Classic match a few months ago similarly. Was wanting Speedball to pull off the shock upset and in the end was hoping they'd go the time limit, but a great cheating heel finish for Fletcher. Definitely look forward to more from these two. Really liked the Roderick return/save, great babyface moment and pop for him, glad to see him come around to helping Orange in the end. Weak ass momentum killing finish for Persephone, sadly coming just days after her big CMLL win and this being her first singles loss since Final Battle last year sucked. Looking forward to Hangman/MJF most at Revolution, feels hard to call which way it goes with the stips. 2 1

In CMLL, Persephone is a ruda, but in typical Lucha tradition, was cheered against the foreigner (Mone). But, AEW/ROH has always had her as a Babyface. I think she is going to be salty about this loss and turn on Willow so she is a ruda just like in CMLL. 5
ExcellenceofAirPollution Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) This has been a great run of shows lately. Another great crowd. Loved the venue, and the cameramen were working a lot to get the ceiling of the building into shots. A lot more close up camera work tonight too, really noticed it during KF/Speedball. Even Darby wasn't crazy enough to bump on that beautiful hardwood floor that must have some sort of lacquer on it that makes it hard as shit. The second I saw that floor during the Death Riders entrance I was like, "Nooooooo Darby!" lmao NGL the Roddy angle brought a tear to my eye. I know he's divisive here but I've really enjoyed his AEW run and his character work. He feels like an actual wrestler/human being rather than someone portraying a character, it connects with me. Even at the times I wasn't that into how he was being used, it only takes like 30 seconds of his matches to start and I'm back in. High bar to match the CC with KF/Speedball but this was pretty damn great in it's own right. Difference for me is I didn't buy Speedball actually winning here, whereas that match did the trick of me thinking there was no way Speedball was winning going in to making me a believer as the match progressed to where I was 100% in on some of the near falls. Impossible to replicate that but they damn sure tried. Liked the KF/MJF interaction and the little tease/foreshadowing with Callis Persephone was really impressive and Willow gave her a ton. I'd expect her to get her win back in CMLL. I like all three of The Dogs, though I don't like the name. All of them have room to develop as performers and characters that I think just wasn't going to happen any further in Japan. I trust in TK to book these guys and make people care. I agree that Kidd should ditch the crawling on the entrance though, he looks cooler/more intimidating just coming out in a hoodie. I remember when people were down on Jay White when he came in and he grew on them. None of these three are as talented as Jay White, but they've all got something and have chemistry as a unit. All three can go too, and at the end of the day if you're out there having consistently good-great performances you're going to get over in AEW. I'm also a big fan of Tricky and David Finlay's theme is a pretty good tonal/style knockoff I liked the video for Hangman/MJF and the press conference/brawl. It wasn't perfect but I liked what they were going for. CRAZY to me how much younger Hanger looked in 2019.....also crazy to me that we're already in year 7 of AEW!!!!!!! Shartnado Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) It was super neat to see how Hechecero and Takeshita were absolutely the faces in the opener even when facing the A++ tag team of Death Riders (of course, Don Callis wasn't at ringside, so that helped). You can imagine what the reaction would have been if they were facing PAC and Yuta, instead. Adds a different level to the DR-DCF feud. Fletcher-Bailey was one of the most spectacular matches I've seen today (so far)! The belt shot missed so badly that Fletcher didn't even cheat to win, basically. I guess (almost) scraping Bailey's forearm with the edge of the belt distracted Speedball enough to be able to hit the finisher for the win? Still, a match like that on non-PPV setting is crazy (was going to say "free TV", but I am paying for this) The tag match with The Dogs and Darby/OC was good use of Darby, but this needs to come to an end pretty soon. I was thinking what could be next for Darby after this and I'm seeing Swerve in his future. Roddy coming through when it counts once again was cool! The high five to OC was way more intense than Cassidy was expecting, though! Edited March 12 by Shartnado More 4
Craig H Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Christ. Coach is really going to book Hangman to lose and repeat one of the worst mistakes in the company’s history. 1
just drew Posted March 12 Posted March 12 So, last night is a perfect example of the size/believability conversation we've had in the past. Speedball is not a big guy, particularly compared to KF, but the style he wrestles is completely plausible for neutralizing bigger wrestlers. Add to that that he throws fantastic kicks & punches, and I absolutely buy it. Really enjoyed this show. Enjoyed that both a backslide and a small package were finishes tonight. 7

Coach is really going to book Hangman to lose and repeat one of the worst mistakes in the company’s history. Hangman has made a few references to being 'undeniable' which I take as foreshadowing that he wins and does what Cody couldn't in the career stip match, but could easily be taken the other way. Personally I think Hangman is winning and MJF will be off to whatever movie/tv set he's on next. This MJF run feels like he had a couple months free in his schedule and they're kind of bookending things and it will all make more sense when you zoom out (total speculation). I like that there's genuine doubt about it though, and TK has thrown enough curveballs with finishes that I could see it go either way. Also there's a lot more heel challengers out there right now, Swerve and Andrade at the top of the list 3
Cobra Commander Posted March 12 Posted March 12 One of these weeks they should do a standby match of all the job guys who jobbed in 15 seconds in previous standby matches facing each other only for somebody to come out like 1995 ECW 911 to cause havoc 3
DJ Hero Morganti Posted March 12 Posted March 12 This show had so many meme worthy facial expressions... There was one shot of takeshita where he could of been a badly dubbed kung fu movie villain.... And swerve had a good one right after the chain break 2 1
JLSigman Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Opening match was great, please keep pushing Hechicero. MJF is SHORT~~! Don Callis is gonna get caught talking out both sides of his mouth one of these days, right? Fletcher/Speedball was incredible. Please let these dudes wrestle a bunch more times this year. Swerve had enough time to realize he fucked up. Nana nearly ended up outside the arena when Brody pushed him off. They have got to put a stip on their match, don't they? Roddy's just an introvert who needs time to recharge after being dragged around by his extrovert friends. Willow/Persephone is another match I could watch several more times this year. 6 man was OK. It was announced that Ciampa would be in the 21-man Battle Royal/whatever for Ricochet's title. Someone on Discord said that the press conference should've been the show opener, and I have to agree. It felt out of place at the end. 4
