Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan fired their coaches on the same day

Iowa State assistant got the San Diego job

UNC-Greensboro fired their coach

Northern Illinois fired their coach

Louisiana-Monroe fired their coach after one season, where the team went 4-27

Eastern and Western Michigan both went 10-21 overall, and 4-14 in conference play, finishing in a three-way tie with Northern Illinois for the bottom 

Central Michigan, by the way, also went 10-21, though they managed a 6-12 MAC mark.

And the three directional Michigan teams all went 1-1 against each other. 

 

Weird year.

NIU is on their way out of the MAC, their football is going to the Mountain West, and almost everything else is going to the Horizon League

So NIU football is in the same conference as Hawaii. NIU basketball will be in the same conference as Robert Morris.

Weird year.

I'm not sure how WMU manages to run a basketball program. It doesn't draw and is never talked about on campus. Multiple times, we showed up to games with our passes and ended up with basically front row seats. You wouldn't even get in the building at all if you tried that with hockey.

Dartmouth essentially fired their coach (they didn't renew his contract) after going 87-160 over 9 seasons

Dartmouth basketball hasn't finished above .500 since 1998-99 and hasn't made the NCAA tournament since 1959

Pitt isn’t firing Capel or football coach Pat Narduzzi, both have crazy high buyout numbers. Pitt doesn’t have a billionaire alum who’d write the checks to make them go away.
