🎼 You think that we connect, that the chemistry's correct. Your words walk right through my ears, presuming I like what I hear

Last week!  Swerve turned face again during this promo:

🎶 And now I'm stuck in the... The web you're spinning. You got me for your prey!

And in other news...  Post Malone (Who?  Don't worry about it, your kids know him.) decided the only way to spend money was on YOUR World Heavyweight Champion:

🎹 Sorry I'm not home right now, I'm walking into spiderwebs! So leave a message and I'll call you back...

This week!  TWO, count em TWO World Title matches!!!

An Iiconic night ahead!

(Back in the 90s you could just avoid a stalker by *checks notes* Not picking up the phone!   WHAT A COUNTRY!)

Enjoy the week!  Remember to Spring Back this weekend! Fall Forward is in November!

The music of No Doubt felt like a stalker in the 90s and going forth. Nearly unavoidable despite how much I tried. That’s not to say this isn’t an excellent rock song based title.

Quote

* AEW World Championship Match: MJF vs. Kevin Knight.
* AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Thekla vs. Thunder Rosa.
* The IInspiration vs. The Brawling Birds.
* Jon Moxley vs. Hechicero.
* Hangman Page vs. TBA
* Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd & Clark Connors

Every week another tremendous line-up. I sense the OC/Darby-Kidd/Connors tag bout may be something special. So too Mox-Hechicero. MJF will no doubt be looking to make the Jet, so that should be a helluva contest. Seems like the Inspiration should be getting over with their promos before thrusting them into a big match, but curious nonetheless to see how they fare. Thelka-Rosa, hmmm? Hanger ‘in action’ or in competition? We’ll see. Stoked yet again.

That card is as awesome as No Doubt is so we're in for a good time.  Also can't go wrong with Post choosing AEW figs.  I have the early MJF figure but don't have the others after it.  Once my office gets redone I feel I'll be back to collecting but these damn things are pricey.

Since I'll be watching live for once it's going to be an interesting test to see if I can care about the tag match and not pay attention to Gabe at the same time.

Spiderwebs is the best No Doubt song. I have a late 80s ska comp (Skaface) that has a very early No Doubt song on it, it’s pretty good. Never really kept up with them as I thought they were a little too poppy, and other than “Hollaback Girl” I couldn’t tell you anything about Gwen’s solo career.

Really great card tonight. I realized that this recent run has really benefited from having a long gap between the PPVs. I know from a money perspective they won’t do it, but cutting back to 6 or even 4 would be great in my opinion (and not just for my wallet).

Also, 2 women’s matches on Dynamite?!?!?!

It's a great time of the year in the AEW calendar for that reason. It also makes me wonder how much more consistent the TV could be if the PPVs were kept to a more traditional 3 hour running time. I suspect that could happen if or when they go from PPV to PLE.

I'm like 99% sure that "Everything's Wrong" is the first song they professionally recorded. There are bootlegs/concert footage of John Spence as the lead vocalist from their first year in 1987, but that's their first appearance after John died and Gwen was promoted to lead.

I remember dreading hearing 'I'm Just a Girl' force fed by the radio and constant video rotation. To each their own, but for me - so too 'Spiderwebs'. I truly hated No Doubt, but somehow my hate melted away to their 'Don't Speak'. I couldn't believe they were capable of writing such an elegant and emotional song. I don't recall hearing much following that Tragic Kingdom album until their Talk Talk cover. When I first heard it I somehow had forgotten having ever heard the original. I couldn't believe what an incredible song I thought they wrote. Nonetheless, I've always enjoyed that cover.

Can't say I've ever been a No Doubt fan, but I have no doubt that Dynamite will be a banger tonight.

Things I Remember From This Week's Edition of Dynamite:

MJF beats Kevin Knight but Speedball uses karate on him postmatch

Hangman beats some dude in like 10 seconds before the Callis Family attacks

Then we get a trios title match where MJF shows up and we have new Trios champs

Also, Thunder Rosa lost a title match. Moxley beat Hechicero in a match that likely ruled and I didn't pay much attention too.

Where was Bandido during that attack by Swerve, it's only like 8 feet from the entrance to the ring this week

The Inspiration is here and they jobbed quick to the Birds

Orange Cassidy faced Gabe Kidd again and then David Finlay/Finley debuted

couldn't get AJ Styles so we have to settle for David Finlay instead

Holy crap. How vanilla is this Finlay guy if AJ Styles was the better option?

I'm looking forward to whenever Jay White returns, so we can get the Bang Bang Gang vs. The Dogs.

They did the same spot twice tonight - bad show running.

In the pre-tape, Dax punches Cutler because he wasn't part of the "no contact" agreement.

Live promo with Renee, Ciampa points out he didn't agree to "no contact" and punches Dax.

When is Johnny Gargano's contract up? I was definitely getting the feeling we'll see DIY vs. FTR again.

Another excellent show. MJF-Knight opened things up with a rocking bout from what I saw of it. It seemed to serve it's purpose beautifully. I need to see it again in full. A small thing, but I liked Kevin Knight embracing the boobirds early. Did himself well just going with it. I only caught OC/Darby-Connors/Kidd from the break onward, but very much dug what I saw. Darby clearly wants to make these two heels. That apron bump he took onto his neck was sickening. I definitely prefer excellent hand Finlay to Allen Flat Earth. The Andrade-Bandido segment was fun enough. I blinked and missed the Inspiration-Birds match. I only caught a glimpse, but it sounded like the Inspiration weren't so well received. Seemed like kind of a weak debut. Hanger-MJF-Callis Family segment was very good. Don brought the heat - 'French Canadian Puke'. I like an occasional impromptu main event. The Bucks-FTR segment was fun, and totally JCP - possibly worse camera work. Ugly cutting as well. Not a slick production, but fun. Mox-Hechicero was magnificent. Did Mox just chip that tooth? It stood out to me in a good way during the jaw-jacking. I liked the Riders promo later. Yuta's gotten himself comfortable on the mic. Still room to improve, but that's a boost. I like what Marina Shafir did to her hair here. Very good look for her. Her promos are pretty consistently good. Skye and Julia looked hilariously wooden in the Thekla cut in. Stat tried to top the Sisters on Rosa's side. Still, I liked this hype up for the match. I didn't love seeing Brody get eaten up by Swerve so quickly. I accept it tho. Another hilariously clumsy Swerve promo that hit where it needed to. I only saw a portion of Thekla-Rosa, but it seemed to be going alright until Thekla broke up her own pin. I thought that needlessly buried Rosa. It felt like a decisive loss for somebody leaving the territory - tho, I don't assume that's the case. Jungle Boy brandishing a blade on TV is ridiculous on many levels - as is the idea that we need another Ric-Perry bout. I really liked the Ciampa-FTR segment. And I kinda liked the callback to the 'no contact' call before the punch. Dax was awesome. Ciampa's proving to be fairly capable on the mic. Fun Toni-OC segment. Page/Bailey/Knight-Fletcher/Davis/Okada was a relentlessly fun main event. Spectacular! I love seeing Mark Davis celebrating a title win - well deserved. This was a nicely paced show with some excellent pro wrestling. AEDub!

That's what I said on another board. I think he left/was released, and then signed a new contract in 2022, so presumably sometime soon. I don't care one way or another, as long as Candice LeRae comes with him. But they both seem to be pretty big fans of Triple H, so who knows. I just want Candice in AEW, really. I need her versus Skye Blue in a street fight like I need air.

That very much sounds like a call-back, which is the opposite of "bad show running."

I was somehow under the impression that David Finley was more likely to be heading to WWE, so this was definitely a surprise and I finally got my wish and he goes after Darby right away, too! Also, the off the top rope, neck first onto the apron bump by Darby was absolutely disgusting, and I loved it!

The IInspiration was hilarious, well amusing anyway, but this was not their night the way they got their asses handed to them.

All the title matches were cool, but rough night for Kevin Knight!
