Thanks, Bret and Kevin. This actually looks like a fun card on paper, but LOL at Yoko chasing Jarrett. He was barley mobile by 96

Plus, I've gotten to see legends like The Great Muta, Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Kenta Kobashi, Mitsiharu Misawa, etc. Going to ROH shows were some of the best times I've had as a fan. Did you go to Kenta/Joe or did you see the tag match the next night? I was at the tag match show and it was awesome.

At that time, I (and all kids under 14) was banned from MSG. Meanwhile me and a friend would each get like $10 from our parents, hop on a bus to go downtown, and go see wrestling at the Baltimore Arena, and we were probably 12. 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Wondering what the finish of the Bret/Diesel early 96 cage match was and if it was a better finish than the IYH cage match My Guess for a finish is “Diesel kicks at Bret and knocks him through the door” if they were doing a “Bret wins on a bit of a fluke” finish but maybe they were putting Bret over stronger in cage matches a few weeks before they had a PPV cage match
The Natural Posted March 5 Posted March 5 My gimmick match Mount Rushmore: Royal Rumble, Two out of Three Falls, Hell in a Cell and WarGames. Hell in a Cell was a big deal to me. 12 year old me never seen anything like The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at In Your House 18: Badd Blood and 13 year old me in The Undertaker vs. Mankind at King of the Ring 1998. 1
The Natural Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Speaking of 1997, my favourite ever year for wrestling, we got four of the greatest matches of all time: Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at WWF WrestleMania 13. The 1997 MOTY and the greatest wrestling match of all time. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at WWF In Your House 18: Badd Blood. My runner up to the above. Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero at WCW Halloween Havoc 1997. Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Kenta Kobashi in AJPW, 20th February 1997. Any other year one of Michaels/Taker, Mysterio/Guerrero and Misawa/Kobashi would walk it. 3
Marcel Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) While nowhere near the match that all of those were, the Canadian Stampede 10-man tag from 7/6/97 was one of the most fun matches I've ever watched. The heat was off the charts - still a little surprised there weren't people hopping the railing when Austin went after Stu. Edited March 5 by Marcel 4

Cobra Commander Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) There’s a lostmedia subreddit post looking for WWF Superstars episodes that aired in Australia in 1998/99 which had Monsoon commentating. So that answers a question of at least one country where they sent Monsoon commentary in 1999 Edited March 5 by Cobra Commander 1

He was barley mobile by 96 The funniest thing is that Jeff Jarrett and Ahmed Johnson had a screwup along with a very awkward brawl at the IYH where Jeff returned after quitting and walking out the year before. Jarrett was suppose to run away from Ahmed but Ahmed somehow caught up to him like halfway down the entrance way cause Jeff was somehow running but not moving very fast. So you just see Jeff look back at Ahmed like "..OH GODDAMN". Either he stiffed Ahmed and Ahmed was pissed and chased him for real with Jeff not expecting it OR Jeff didn't expect Ahmed to run full speed. Now with that said, Jeff could have sat in a folding chair in the middle of the aisleway and nearly 700 pound Yokozuna wasn't going to catch him. 1 2
Cobra Commander Posted March 5 Posted March 5 feels like a chase where Jeff Jarrett is caught by Yoko involves Jeff circling the ring and then unexpectedly bumping into a standing Yoko like it's a Bugs Bunny spot 5

Two out of three falls isn't a gimmick, we're English. Two falls, two submissions or a knockout is the default. One Fall is a gimmick. 2

Curt McGirt Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I wish I had shots of all of Dustin's tattoos. Surely he was one of those dudes in the '90s that just got drunk and high, went out with friends to whatever place was recommended in whatever city and said "gimme something cool". I mean he has fucking SEANCE written on his arm. 1

With you 100% about those two HIAC matches in particular. One of the first tape comps i made was HIAC after tracking down the couple from summer '98 Raws. Hard to balance matches that are overdone but have some real standouts (i'm looking at you, Dog Collar matches!) Barbed Wire Match, Ladder Match/TLC, Ultimate X, Hell in a Cell 1
SovietShooter Posted March 6 Posted March 6 12 minutes ago, twiztor said: Ultimate X, I worked for an Indy group in WV where the promoter was a certified Redneck Engineer, and as soon as TNA did the Ultimate X match, he figured out a way to do it. It always drew a good house for us. The ingenious part of it was, he had already acquired some old sections of lighting trusses, and we had done a few "on a pole" matches with what was essentially a 20ft ladder in the corner. He just attached a ring rope between the poles. 3
