The Natural Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Watched Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 yesterday. Best match in WWE history, best finish in wrestling history and the greatest wrestling match of all time. It's a flawless masterpiece. *****. 2
Cobra Commander Posted March 29 Posted March 29 the song "Demolition Man" has no shortage of lines that wrestlers could use used in promos if they were listening to Ghost in the Machine in 1982 Quote I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom I can kill conversation as I walk into the room I'm a three line whip I'm the sort of thing they ban I'm a walking disaster, I'm a demolition man okay, maybe not the three line whip part, but most of that could be been a Road Warrior Hawk promo in 1987 2
twiztor Posted March 29 Posted March 29 have my music library on shuffle today, which is not unusual. What comes up? the Harlem Heat theme. that felt appropriate since they're in the finals of the WCW theme tourney. 1

I set the finals for three days and it was so one-sided it was decided the first day. I was hoping some throughout the tournament would have put up a bigger challenge but they had no chance. Now there's discussion about doing one for ECW theme and dare we do it WWF/WWE. I didn't expect this to be a thing we're doing this year on Discord but here we are. 3

We only got this because of Shawn Michaels acting an unprofessional twat by not losing the WWF Championship to Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13 but instead vacating it and losing his smile. Shawn Michaels was a fucking arsehole. Fuck him. Edited March 30 by The Natural 1

Are you talking dial-up? Broadband must have been better, even then, because I remember watching Mania 17 on then WWF's site. For some reason, I had no access to PPV, but their site offered the show at a discounted rate to stream it, so I borrowed a projector from work to plug in to my desktop PC, and watched it on the wall.

Higher bandwidth was helpful, but the coding efficiency of MPEG4 wasn't created until the end of 1998 and wasn't truly adopted until 2000, same with Apple working streaming formats into Quicktime. You needed some high end kit to run it back then so you didn't really see it unless there were folks dedicated to exploring that technology and had the money to do so. 1
