Dolfan in NYC Posted March 20 Posted March 20 SRS says Toni Storm is done for the year. AEW "does not expect her to be cleared" in 2026. 2

Also yes. Does everyone suck here? Absolutely. Ive refrained from commenting on this topic for a few reasons. But I do want to state Ricochet made the conscious choice to become a public figure, this woman did not. When you choose to become a wrestler, and a really successful one, you are doing it with the understanding youre gonna get shit head troll comments. This lady that just likes to watch wrestling did not make that choice. So let's temper this it's everyone's fault deal a bit and put the blame where it should go. A lady made a shit head troll comment. A pretty innocuous one. And Ricochet chose to be an unrelenting cunt. He could have snapped on any number of people. He picked someone with a disability because he's an immature bully. The punishment did not fit the crime. If you find them to be at equal fault, that's your right. But I personally feel like that's not being fair to the actual facts of the situation. 5
Cobra Commander Posted March 20 Posted March 20 which shitty podcast has first dibs on "Toni Storm got pregnant to not have to work with Ronda" takes? (of course, pregnancy doesn't quite work that quickly) 1

I want that level of petty out of my wrestling. 1 2 12

AxB Posted March 21 Posted March 21 The correct way to interact with Wrestlers on Social Media is in Kayfabe. Be a mark, and talk to/about the character, not the performer. 3
Technico Support Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Maybe just enjoy or not enjoy a performance without the need to interact with that person and create parasocial relationships. Social media really fucked humanity’s heads. 15

Same goes for live events. Play your part - everybody wins that way, especially the younger folks who may be there. 6

Social media really fucked humanity’s heads. But unless I'm misreading that screenshot, she was responding to some news account, or possibly an official AEW account, not to Ricochet or the guy who plays Ricochet. I don't think she was trying to interact with him or create a parasocial relationship. And while her tone wasn't exactly respectful, I should point out that she was criticizing the performer's acting skills, not attacking him on a personal level or making death threats or anything. I don't think she crossed any lines. 1
TheVileOne Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I think wrestlers and celebrities in general should not be on social media. Frankly, all of humanity as well, but it's never going to happen. Drew McIntyre is at least good at being a social media troll and keeping it to his wrestling character and feuds without stepping over the line. Just as an example of how you can be a social media troll and have it sort of work. 3 1

Dolfan in NYC Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Chris Hero was the friend who apparently advised Ricochet in the fallout for the MS tweets.
Cobra Commander Posted March 23 Posted March 23 the Collision clip of Thekla taking credit for Toni Storm being out (saying that Toni staged it to go on the run from Thekla) did give me the idea of a wrestler stealing the gimmick of some terrorist groups that habitually take credit for things that they had nothing to do with although that might require having someone in the Tony Falk level where they're trying to get into the camera shot as important things are going on 1
JLowe Posted March 24 Posted March 24 When Jamie Hayter returned from her long injury absence, she vowed to get revenge on the people who put her out: The Outcasts. I think she did get to beat Saraya before she left, but Ruby was already gone on maternity and Toni was a huge face in the middle of a huge feud. They now have months to slowly book a Hayter heel turn. Or even better, given the Timeless Love Bombs outfits, when Toni comes back let her some time doing a hard boiled detective investigation into her assailant, only for it to be revealed it was Jamie getting her long-simmering revenge. 4
JLowe Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I think @porksweatsshould being his AEW roster hot take over here for some fun. I’ve debated starting a new navel-gazing thread to talk about the roster, the fan base, and the future. 4

For reference (and we can move this to the Navel Gazing Thread), is that AEW should release half its roster and start fresh. 2
