RIPPA Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 While it is a little silly and overblown - I do get a chuckle over all the fires Dan Wilson is gonna have to put out in the Mariners clubhouse First you have the bizarro Randy Arozarena/Cal Raleigh feud (which side note - a sentiment I saw from more than one player was "this is why Randy isn't exactly the most liked teammate) And now you have Julio Rodriguez saying he would rather win the WBC than the World Series I saw someone say that it was like all the Seattle players who went to the WBC went "How badly can I fuck this up for the clubhouse for when I get back" 1

RIPPA Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Japan's manager - Hirokazu Ibata - stepped down after Japan's quarterfinal loss Now Japan has had a different manager every WBC so he most likely wouldn't have been back but he probably would have been the manager for the Olympics And speaking of the Olympics - DR and Venezuela are now qualified for the 2028 games (along with the US) Japan will have to qualify via either the 2027 WBSC Premier12 or the failing that the final Qualifying Tournament which will be held beginning of 2028 EDIT - I should note that the WBC is only qualifying for the Americas so even if Italy wins the whole thing - they would not be in the Olympics (Italy would have to win the Qualifying Tournament (they aren't in the Premier12) I should also note that almost the entire current Italian team would be ineligible for the Olympics because the Olympics have much stricter eligibility requirements for what nation you can represent

To me, the TV box made it look worse than it was.
