He was coming off a "meh" year and was already 30. He did play well for the 5 minutes he was healthy in 2022 though. Rendon was coming off a great year so it made me sense from that perspective. He also was really good for the 5 minutes he was healthy the first year of the contract.

RIPPA Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Eh - it won't be like this during the regular season Teams are letting guys play with the system to figure it out and most of the "stars" play the early innings and then bounce. That is why it is so front loaded during Spring Training games I know more than one team has basically said at the beginning it will be a free for all and then later in spring training a team will establish some rules around how they want to handle the ABS (like with the Yankees most reporters are saying... only half joking... that only Judge, Stanton and Bellinger will be allowed to challenge)

You all seem to forget, this will allow Aaron Boone to actually manage the game more (threat)
