-JDC will reveal his replacement as the newest member of The System.

It can't be as bad as last week, can it? Lord knows how many times I've said it over the years, but maybe I'll give TNA another shot tonight. TNA is the cocaine of promotions. How many times have I said I was going to quit?

I popped big for the surprise return of Trey Miguel, and his epic solo theme music! I was hoping it would happen but didn't think it would so soon. Probably my favorite of the Rascalz so I'm glad he isn't going away. Tom mentioned on commentary that TNA had officially resigned him (but of course he's then in Feast or Fired..)  I was afraid going in that Maclin would end up the one fired, but if so I would like to see him join Deonna in AEW. Both Trey & Maclin are two guys that became breakout favorites of mine over the past 5 years or so of TNA (them & Tasha are top 3 that come to mind). And Trey & Maclin's matches against each other felt like they were both hitting that next level at the time.  Trey's later heel run was some of his career best work while Maclin's current overdue babyface run still felt like it was just getting going.

I knew something bigger had to be happening when I realized the new member of the System deal was closing the show, but wow I was not expecting that at all. Seemed very random and abrupt, I liked the group a lot as it was and was enjoying their babyface run together so I'm sad to see it end and go in a different direction.

Overall felt like a much more happening show than last week, especially the second hour felt like things picked up a lot and a solid in-ring main event from Hardy/Ali.

TNA Thursday Night iMPACT - January 22, 2026 from Albuquerque, NM

*Cedric Alexander def. Moose (w/ Alisha Edwards) (10:04) with a hurricarana.

*TNA Worlds Champ Mike Santana came to the ring for a promo. Santana talked about how he always kept fighting until he became champion again. He put over Kazarian and acknowledged the target on his back.

*Indi Hartwell def. M by Elegance (w/ Ash by Elegance, Heather by Elegance, & Mr. Elegance) (9:19) with a victory roll reversal. After the match, M & Heather attacked Indi until Ash pulled them off. They argued with Ash looking ready to fight. Lei Ying Lee & Xia Brookside ran out for backup but Ash swerved and joined Heather & M in attacking Lei Ying, Xia, & Indi. Ash laid out Lei Ying Lee with a DDT, declaring that she's back.

*Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Trey Miguel, & Eddie Edwards won Feast or Fired (8:39) which included Mance Warner (w/ Steph de Lander), Hometown Man, AJ Francis, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, & Brian Myers (w/ Alisha Edwards)

-Nic Nemeth and Mike Santana got in a fight in the parking lot after Nic mentioned Santana's daughter. Nic went on to get in to it with BDE, who challenged him to a match next week.

*Elayna Black came to the stage for a promo. She said she makes headlines everywhere she goes and is the only one that matters. Elayna announced she would make her in-ring debut next week and prove she's next in line for the knockouts title, calling it the Era of Elayna.

-Backstage, Arianna Grace apologized to Santino Marella and said Stacks thought Santino should've done more for her but he was wrong. Arianna begged for forgiveness. Santino said he couldn't stay mad at her as they hugged.

*Jeff Hardy (w/ Matt Hardy) def. Mustafa Ali (w/ Tasha Steelz, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, & Agent Zero) (15:15) with the Swanton Bomb after a distraction from Elijah.

*The System (Moose, Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, & JDC) came to the ring for JDC to introduce his replacement and new member of the System: Bear Bronson. Bronson came down and hugged all the members, but then Eddie Edwards low blowed JDC and along with Myers, turned on Moose. Cedric Alexander ran out with a steel chair for the save but turned heel and hit Moose. Eddie announced to Moose that they weren't just replacing one member of the System but two members. Eddie said they had such a hard time trusting the system and will now find out the hard way, you can't beat the System. Eddie, Myers, Bronson, & Cedric stood tall as the new System while Alisha was left shocked and checking on JDC & Moose.

It wasn't exactly a high bar for them to clear, but yes it was a vast improvement from the debut.
