Yeah, I was thinking that but the way he put it makes me feel like he's supposed to have worked with him or known him. And there isn't even any prime Stevens out there, for all intents and purposes he was on his way out in AWA. It's like he should have said "how people say Ray Stevens was". 1

Cobra Commander Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Fred Curry, son of Wild Bull Curry, passes away at 82 (maybe "Former NWA Champion" is technically true for a titleholder in Hawaii, Detroit, and Dallas) also, I think the 1972 PWI most popular wrestler of the year was awarded a few years later (PWI didn't exist until 1979) but he won that award
RIPPA Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Van Hammer has passed away at the age of 66 (news comes via Marc Mero) 1
Cobra Commander Posted April 19 Posted April 19 never spent much time thinking about how old Van Hammer was, did not expect him to be that old
odessasteps Posted April 19 Posted April 19 My lasting WCW memory is when they pranked him and greased his guitar wrap so that when he swung it, it hit him in the eye. he also promoted a school show for MCW when I was there and we had to have a pre show prayer session.
Cobra Commander Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Van Hammer not wanting to be Private Stash and forcing WCW to ruin their joke does hit a little differently when you find that Van Hammer was in the Navy

Cobra Commander Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Time for some network to bring back Turner Time as a tribute even if the reasons for doing that don’t quite make sense anymore
Cobra Commander Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Ted wasn't directly responsible for the Captain Planet toys but looking back on it, it was hilarious that they had a Wheeler toy that shot sparks. Yeah, that's what you need to give kids

Yeah, that's what you need to give kids It was the 80s, I used to have wind up godzilla toys that would walk and spit sparks. Not only sparks, but lit it walk and fall over and still spit sparks.
