RIPPA Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 As per usual - release dates are more of a moving target. This is just a sampling of the stuff that is coming out (theoretically) in 2025. Also this list is not all encompassing. I am also ignoring things that have been out but are just getting released on a new console (Animal Crossing: New Horizon on the Switch 2 for example) THINGS WITH ACTUAL RELEASE DATES (For now...) Nioh 3 - Feb. 6 Mario Tennis Fever - Feb. 12 High On Life 2 - Feb. 13 Resident Evil Requiem - Feb. 27 Pragmata - April 24 Saros - April 30 007 First Light - May 27 Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - May 28 Halloween - Sept 8 Grand Theft Auto VI - Nov 19 THINGS WITH VAGUE 2026 DATES Marathon - March 2026 THINGS LABELLED AS JUST "2026" Control Resonant The Duskbloods Fable Forza Horizon 6 GreedFall 2: The Dying World Lords of the Fallen 2 Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Marvel's Wolverine MLB the Show 26 Professor Layton and the New World of Steam The Sinking City 2 Slay the Spire 2 Star Wars Zero Company
RIPPA Posted December 31, 2025 Author Posted December 31, 2025 I will probably edit that post in a little bit but the plumber just showed up and I don't want to lose my work
JLSigman Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is April 28, 2026. Grim Dawn: Fangs of Astkarn is still just "early 2026" at the moment. Titan Quest II and Path of Exile 2 are still in early access development. We should have a name for the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion by end third quarter/beginning fourth quarter. Cliff Hanger Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Bloodstained: Scarlet Engagement is "2026." 1
Raziel Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Of the Actual release dates, I'll say GTA6 is the biggest moving target.
SirFozzie Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) Here's the stuff I'm looking forward to from my steam wishlist in 2026: Menace (Feb 5) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2432860/MENACE?snr=1_25_4__318 Turn Based tactical science fiction game from the makers of Battle Brothers, folks really liked the demo (like X-Com with actual military tactics, where you pin opponents and flanmk them) Solasta 2 (Early Access - March 12th) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2975950/Solasta_II?snr=1_25_4__318 If you're jonesing for more Baldur's Gate 3 style 5th edition D&D, this will be where you go. I believe the classes available in EA will have two subclasses, and mods will be plentiful most likely Slay the Spire II (March) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2868840/Slay_the_Spire_2?snr=1_25_4__318 Yet another card based rogue like. I spent a few hundred hours in the first game, and this may be a chance to break my Monster Train 2 addiction And three games just with a 2026 release date Gilded Destiny https://store.steampowered.com/app/2189430/Gilded_Destiny?snr=1_25_4__318 Similar to the Victoria series of grand strategy games (I believe the designers were ex Vicky 2 modders), it will be interesting to see if this offers a new take on the era. Aether and Iron https://store.steampowered.com/app/1836560/Aether__Iron?snr=1_25_4__318 Decopunk RPG set in a floating New York City Under Par Golf Architect https://store.steampowered.com/app/2928410/Under_Par_Golf_Architect__Sim_Manager?snr=1_25_4__318 The search for a good SimGolf style game continues? Will this scratch the itch? I dunno, but I'm hoping so. edit These games have no Release Date, so they may or may not come out in 2026 Warhammer 40K Dark Heresy: Rogue Trader actually got the Grimdark Warhammer 40K universe right, and the alpha for this one is out. I'm hoping for a late 2026 release Steel Bounty: A Mechwarrior-like game, that will allow you to control up to a company of War Machines Clockwork Revolution: Steampunk RPG, the trailers I've seen look really fun in a weird steampunky victorian way Total War Warhammer 40K: The most watched game trailer from the Game Awards. I DOUBT this will be 2026, but it's going to make or break Creative Assembly Edited December 31, 2025 by SirFozzie
odessasteps Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Off the top of my head, Professor Layton, the Expanse, Clockwork Revolution and MLB 26. I’m not very enthused about GTA 6. Especially if costs $100. Since I haven’t bought Yotei yet, I guess I could include it too.
SirFozzie Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 yeah, I didn't add expanse to my list because I'm pretty sure it's at least a 2027 release.
Casey Posted January 2 Posted January 2 2027 will be the year that Exodus and the Expanse game have to battle it out for my wallet.
Chaos Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I'm trying not to buy anything new this year and shrink the backlog slightly this year. I'm making exceptions for GTA VI and maybe one or two Switch 2 things (Mario Tennis is only intriguing because it's on my birthday, and it's hopefully not worse than Aces).

Schreier pushed back on the reporting of this saying Quote This is a complete misunderstanding of what I said, which is that I wouldn't be shocked if GTA6 *does* come out this fall, following the same delay pattern as RDR2. Of course another delay is possible. It's a video game. But this blog post is very misleading (just reach out to me - it's not hard!) That was specifically in repsonse to Rock, Paper Shotgun
SirFozzie Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Starfinder: Afterlight (based off the 2E Pen and Paper RPG) will have a closed beta/alpha in February, and looks to hit early access in Q2 or Q3.
odessasteps Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Wow. I watched a stream of that New Game Plus showcase, what a 3+ hour slog with all these talking heads doing previews of stuff. I can’t Imagine sitting thru that live. Some decent looking games, including th pre Expanse and a war game set during Gallipoli. Not much else floated my boat on first go around.
RIPPA Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 There has been a Xbox Developer Direct scheduled for January 22 Fable, Forza Horizon 6 and Beast of Reincarnation are the confirmed titles to be featured
RIPPA Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Masters of Albion This is the next "God" game from Peter Molyneux I haven't done the research yet to see what outlandish claims he has made about the game
Casey Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Life Is Strange: Reunion announced for March 26th. Chloe Price is back, it’s a sequel to Double Exposure, and wraps up Max & Chloe’s story. I AM SEATED 1

JLSigman Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Blizzard's turning 35, and they'll be showing off some new stuff in the next couple weeks. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be contemplating my 30 year old Diablo 1 box and crumbling to dust.
