Do not go see this movie.  Do not support a movie that's financed by the vulnerable's addiction.

Oh and I'm 100% positive it's a FUCKEN great idea to make videos watching yourself being brutally killed.

There's no chance whatsoever that this will lead to any bad outcomes.

There's no way they can do this without everyone being in on the joke except Jason.

Nahhhhhh. He's a career workman who's got to be open for being parodied after having practically his own genre of film* going for years. We aren't talking about Steven Seagal here (thank god).

If this ends up being Jason vs. Jason in a dual role then it might actually be funny.

I can already hear the dialogue for this in my head....

"Jason Statham, you stole my bike."

"No, I didn't."

"Well, I'm going have you arrested for stealing my bike."

"Arrest this." *punches guy in a combat sequence*

"Ow."

I've always felt that here and there Jason has displayed that he actually has some acting chops unlike Segal. I've been curious to see him stretch that for years so this might end up being fun.

I'm so there for the Statham movie. And, yeah, he has some acting chops.

California Schemin'

Notable as it is James McAvoy's directorial debut

I've pretty easily avoided everything Jason Statham has made post-Snatch. Has he made anything actually 'good' since then? Crank sounded like a fun idea. I also found myself curious of his work opposite 'Stunning' Steve Austin.

The Crank films are over the top, goofy fun, but some of their subject matter is rather problematic today.

Having seen and reviewed a few Jason Statham movies post-Snatch, no he hasn't. There's been some that were okay (The Transporter), but the rest is "dad movies" like Liam Neeson's recent movies.

He's the highlight of the Melissa MacArthy movie Spy, playing a completely over the top ridiculous movie spy with a straight face.

Otherwise, it's kinda the John Wayne thing with him. You watch a Jason Statham movie, you get a Jason Statham movie. Some are better than others, but they are almost all just slight variants on the same thing, a hard man in a tough situation fights his way through a bunch of other hard men, basically. Crank is certainly more fun about it than most, but it's still basically the same thing turned up to eleven.
